Stefan's point of view

    The fire was burning out. My mind was filled with doubt. I long to feel alive.  

After breaking up with Elena, I felt broken. The fire of passion that Elena and I shared disappeared and I was doubting everything I thought that I knew. Even though I missed Elena, I miss the feeling she gave me more. The feeling of being alive, seeming to be human. I wish for that back more than anything. 

Don't know if I'll survive. But my hope was running low. You appeared out of nowhere. 

There was a permanent ache that I feel; I was losing hope that it would ever go away. But in my pit of despair; my worst moment, she knocked me off of my feet. Literally, she ran into me on an early moment while I was out for a walk to clear my head.

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you there." She exclaimed. 

"Glad to know that I'm invisible." I retorted. 

 "That's not what I meant at all. I was focused on my pacing; I'm trying to run 7k today so I have to pay more attention." She defended herself. 

Yeah it was more than an illusion. More than I can ever know. Baby it's magic the way you came around.  

"Y/n." She says before sticking her hand out for me to shake.

"Stefan." I reply before shaking her hand. She smiled at me before continuing on her run. I smiled and stood there looking like an idiot. I realized that I never got her number so I turned and was about to run after her before I noticed that she wasn't anywhere in sight. She must have been a fast runner.

I've seen Y/n around town several times since that day in the park. I now have her number and we talk quite a bit. Her beauty was definitely more than an illusion. It never disappears and I'm stunned by it every time. 

You caught me before I hit the ground. Yeah something was missing in my house of cards. And all that I needed was the Queen of my heart. It's magic the way you came around. 

It's amazing how much she helped me out of the pit that I was digging for myself; the one made up of grief and despair. It's magic how she came around.  

You didn't make a sound. My heart was screaming loud. A trick under your sleeve. Yeah you make me believe. 

And then suddenly, whenever I saw her my heart sped up. She became a part of my life. But of course something had to go wrong. She made me believe that everything was perfect but that wasn't the case.

I walked up to her house and I saw a moving van. Confused I knocked then walked inside. 

"Y/n?" I called out.

"Stefan." She sighed in relief.

"What's happening? Why is there a moving van outside?" I asked hurriedly.

"My mom, she's in the military. She is being relocated, to New Orleans. I was finishing up packing before coming to say goodbye." She answers, looking down upset.

"And you are leaving today?" I ask.

"No tomorrow. But most of our stuff is going ahead of us." She explains.

  But my hope was running low. You appeared out of nowhere. Yeah it was more than an illusion. More than I can ever know. 

This was typical. The perfect girl for me, the one who hasn't been targeted by Klaus or Silas and doesn't even know about the supernatural. But now she is moving. To New Orleans, where Klaus is. That town has it even worse off than Mystic Falls. 

Third person point of view

"Y/n, you weren't supposed to come back until you had something to report about Stefan." Klaus says to Y/n when she came into the compound. 

"I know. But there is something to report. Silas is back and everything that Kol said.... Well it's true. The situation is worse actually." Y/n reports. 

"Well get back there and keep me informed. Next time a phone call will work. I want to make sure that Stefan is protected. He is the only friend that I've ever had. But since you are here what has happened?" Klaus commands. 

"Well after Rebekah, Elena, Damon, Stefan, Bonnie and the professor went to the island to find the vampire cure and awoke Silas, he followed them to Mystic Falls. He has been trying to convince everyone to drop the veil to the other side although we don't know why. He is able to shape shift as you know so it is a nuisance. Bonnie has a plan to try to stop him but I don't know when it is happening."

 "So it could be happening now? Get back there." Klaus snarls. Y/n obediently leaves.

  Meanwhile in Mystic Falls

"Silas wants me to keep cutting." Caroline keeps repeating to Rebekah and Matt.

 Rebekah turns to Matt and says "If Caroline is here that means that Silas is at the school with Stefan."

"You stay here and take care of Caroline, I'll go tell Stefan." Matt says before leaving Caroline in Rebekah's care.

--- "You can't go any further Elena." Damon says stopping Elena from entering the caves underneath the school.

Elena injects Damon with vervain before moving further into the school in pursuit of Katherine. 

---"Someone is coming Bonnie. Let me go stop them." Katherine insists.

"Fine go." Bonnie says while concentrating.

Elena attacks Katherine but Stefan stops Elena from killing her. 

"You could have killed Bonnie. She linked herself to Katherine." Stefan exclaims.

"Bonnie unlink yourself from Katherine. If she dies you do too." Silas disguised as Caroline tells her pretending to be a concerned friend. When Bonnie unlinks herself, Silas makes her believe that she is suffocating. Bonnie's grams makes her see through Silas' illusion and she heads to where Silas is currently attacking Damon.

She uses the same spell that Qetsiyah used and turns Silas to stone. Stefan goes to drop him into the Quarry. 

Stefan can't find the body since Silas isn't calcified anymore now that Bonnie is dead. 

"Looking for me? I'm over here. Before you ask I'm not calcified anymore since it is nature's loophole to break a spell when the witch that performed it dies. When I became immortal nature needed to find a balance by creating a shadow version of himself who could die: a doppelgänger." Silas explains.

"Are you the original Petrova doppelgänger?" Stefan asks.

"No." Silas answers. He drops his illusion, revealing the same face as Stefan's. He then pushes Stefan into the safe and pushes the safe into the quarry.

Y/n's point of view

I came back to Mystic Falls after my trip to New Orleans to find that the destruction of Silas already happened while I was away.

When I got back no one had heard from Stefan. I was automatically worried. But everyone else thought that he left to deal with his break up with Elena. I left it and slowly became friends with the other members of their little group. Nobody knew that I knew what they were. I tried to keep tabs as best as I could on Stefan without hearing from him. But after three months I knew that something was horribly wrong. I tried to convince Damon and Elena but they were too caught up in each other to worry about Stefan. 

Another month passes and Elena finally starts to get worried about Stefan. Damon talks to me about Stefan being missing but doesn't want Elena to know. I remember that Stefan was going to drop Silas into the quarry and suggest that something went wrong without mentioning that I know about Silas. Damon agreed and enlists Sheriff Forbes help in searching the quarry. "

Y/n, Elena. Sheriff Forbes found the safe.' Damon says before leaving. We follow him and find the safe empty with only a dead body killed by a vampire. Damon and Elena turn towards each other. 

Damon grabs me and says "you will forget that this happened. You only know that Stefan went away for the summer and hasn't returned yet." I blink but then laugh. Damon and Elena look at each other confused. 

"You think that I'm not on vervain. I know about vampires and have known the entire time." I say. 

"So you know about us?" Elena asks confused.

"Of course I do. I didn't come to this quaint little town on my own. Someone sent me." I say explaining it to them.

"Who sent you? What do they want?" Damon asks.

"No one important sent me. Let's just say I'm a guardian angel. I'm here to protect the town not hurt it." I say dismissing the subject. "Now I see that Stefan's blood lust is at full volume. I will continue looking for him." I say before leaving. "Klaus. Stefan is missing. I need Freya to locate him." I say on the phone with Klaus.

"Of course. She will get right on that. I'll call you with his location." 

My phone rings shortly thereafter.

"Hello love. Stefan is at the bar on the Whitmore campus. Best of luck." Klaus says before hanging up. I start walking there. 

When I get there I hear screams. Clearly a woman. I see her open the door and start running. I realize that Stefan is in there. I run inside.

"Stefan?" I ask

"Y/n? No wait. Don't come any closer, I don't want to hurt you." He responds.

"I'll be fine. But you won't. Your blood lust is running high and I can help you." I say trying to comfort him.

"How Y/n? You didn't even know about the supernatural before this. You are only human." He says.

"Stefan you think that I didn't know about the supernatural before I came to Mystic Falls? Klaus sent me to keep an eye on you and to protect you. Obviously that didn't work since you disappeared while I was in New Orleans. But you aren't the first blood thirsty vampire that I've dealt with and you most certainly won't be my last either." I tell him.

"Ok. But I really like you and won't be very happy if I end up killing you." He agrees.

"I really like you too." I reply smiling.
