Chapter 15
Seth's POV
I returned to my trailer after dropping Ava off to hers. Much to my surprise, she was in a pleasant mood today and didn't decide to give me the cold shoulder. Hopefully I managed to make up for breaking her foot.
The guys were sitting in a circle and talking about something intensely.
"What's up?" I asked, joining them.
"We are plotting revenge," Kian responded dramatically followed by a huff.
"Revenge?" I questioned, confused.
"Yes," Mason replied.
"What the girls did was not cool so we are going to join you guys with this stupid prank war," Derrick continued.
I grinned in response. "About time."
"Right," Kian said, getting down to business. "We are going to use their weapons against them."
"Okay, sorry but can someone else do the explaining without the dramatics," I interrupted Kian, which caused him to roll his eyes.
"What Kian is trying to say is," Derrick cut in, "that we know for a fact that Kyla and Ava have brought along things to use for their pranks. We could go to their trailer now and see if any of those would be helpful. If they're not there, that makes this easier. If they are, we distract them and get what we want."
"Sounds good," I said, shrugging.
"Let's go," Kian said.
Making sure to lock the door to our trailer to ensure that the girls don't end up playing another prank on us, we made our way to their trailer. Reaching it, we decided that I would knock and see if they were there. If they are then I get them out while the guys go in and find the things we need.
The guys hid near the back door while I knocked.
"Come in!" I heard Ava's voice call out.
Opening the door, I popped my head in to see Ava sitting on the bed with a book and her injured leg stretched.
"Hey," I said, going in.
"You can't even stay away from me for ten minutes?" Ava questioned with a straight face, her hazel eyes accusing me.
Okay, she was in a good mood. I grinned and sat on the edge of her bed. "I can't but I'm here because I have to show you something."
"What?" she asked, placing the bookmark in her book and closing it.
"Just come with me," I said, standing up and outstretching my hand.
She looked at my hand and then back up at my face, contemplating whether or not to come. Finally, she sighed and clasped my hand. I helped her stand up and out of the trailer.
"Okay, what is it that you want to show me?" she asked as we stepped out and faced the greenery in front of us.
I pretended to look around for a minute. "Damn, I think it's gone."
"What's gone?" she asked, curious.
"It-it was this really pretty bird," I said, still pretending to look around.
"You called me out for that?"
"Yeah," I mumbled.
She stared at me, not looking happy. She was about to walk away when I grabbed her arm, causing her to stop.
"What do you want, Seth?" she asked, starting to get annoyed.
"Um, where are Carla and Kyla?" I asked, realising that either one of them might be inside the bathroom and also, cause I genuinely was curious as to where Carla was.
She stared at me for a moment but I couldn't tell what that expression of hers meant. "I think they're still by the hot springs."
I sighed internally and said, "Oh, when will they come back?"
"I don't know, Seth. Why don't you ask Carla yourself?" she responded bitterly and began walking away again.
"Hey, hey," I grabbed her arm again, causing her brunette hair to whip around. I took a step closer to her and looked down at her. "Did I say something wrong?"
Her beautiful, hazel eyes that were staring into mine looked away and she muttered a 'no.'
I saw the back door creak open slowly and quickly grabbed her shoulders to angle her away from the door. Her eyes followed my hands on her shoulder and then she looked up at me. The boys walked out silently and began walking away. Derrick had something in his hands. Score!
"Alright, I'll go look for her myself," I said and began walking away, leaving Ava more irritated than before. Way to ruin the perfect afternoon.
"What did you get?" I asked after catching up with the guys once we were out of Ava's site.
"Kool Aid," Derrick replied with a satisfied smirk.
"And what exactly are we meant to do with it?" I questioned.
"I've got something in mind," Derrick said.
*
"Okay," Kian began saying as we made our way to the dining area. "We'll do it right after dinner because they'll probably be expecting something tonight."
Mason nodded in agreement.
After getting our food, we joined the girls. Kyla and Ava seemed to be in the middle of a deep conversation so I sat next to Carla. As soon as I sat down, Ava looked up and suddenly the slight smile from her face vanished.
I sighed internally. I really am getting tired of these sudden mood swings and mixed signals.
After the uneventful dinner, we made our way back to the trailer where Derrick's plan got into action.
"I got this bucket from Mrs. Delia's supplies," Derrick said as he placed a huge bucket in the centre of the trailer. "I know there's a hose near their trailer so we can fill it up with water, add Kool Aid and we'll be ready for the plan."
All of us nodded in unison.
After half an hour, we began making our way towards their trailer. Once we were near enough, we stopped and filled the bucket more than halfway with water. Opening the Kool Aid, we poured all of its contents into the water and watched the water turn crimson.
Dragging the bucket to their trailer, we placed it under the doorknob very carefully and quietly. Once it was in its place, I reached forward and knocked on the door and stepped back to stand in line with the guys. The door swung open a moment later and the bucket lost its support, spilling all of the red liquid directly into their trailer. Kyla stood there, astonished and with her mouth open as laughter erupted amongst us. We heard Carla scream and then she was at the doorway accompanied by Ava, whose bandage had turned from cream to red.
"What the hell!" Kyla shouted.
"Enjoying the taste of your own medicine, babe?" Derrick asked with a smirk.
Ava opened her mouth to give some smartass reply but someone beat her to it.
"What on earth is going on here!" Mrs. Delia exclaimed loudly, standing a few feet away from us.
She rushed closer to see the tipped over bucket and the red liquid covering the floors of the trailer. She turned from the girls to us and repeated her movements a few more times wildly.
"Answer me," she stated, using her authoritative voice.
"It's just Kool Aid, miss," Mason spoke first.
"And you thought this was a good idea because?" she inquired, turning to face Mason with her eyebrows shot up, causing crease lines to form on her forehead.
When none of us responded, she became even more agitated. "This is unacceptable. I didn't know expect this from any of you."
"They started it!" Kian whined like a Year 5. Brilliant.
"So this has been ongoing?" she asked, bewildered. "When we're back, I want to see every single one of you in the principal's office first thing in the morning. If you are not present in school, I will be forced to contact your parents."
Instant groans and disagreements popped up.
"Not another word," she said in a final tone. "Clean up this mess. Your trailers will be checked thoroughly before we leave. If any damage is found, you will be required to pay for it. Also, you can no longer take part in any of the activities for the rest of the camp. Good night."
Giving us a disapproving and disgusted look, she walked away.
We have got ourselves in real shit this time.
A/N- Ooo they finally got caught. This also means that this is the end of the prank war. Did you enjoy it? :D
If you did, please give it a vote. It really helps me out as more people can notice this book and that would give me motivation to update quicker ;)
Anyway, I went to this huge book sale yesterday and bought 17 books for myself so I'm extremely happy. Book suggestions will be coming your way soon :P
