(The five Genin were now gathered in the classroom waiting for their new Sensei to arrive.)

Naruto: <groans> He's late.

(He stuck his head out of the door and began to look around the hallway.)

Sakura: Naruto! Just sit down!

Soha: Seriously you need to relax!

Naruto: I don't want to. How come our teacher's the only one that's late? I'm ready to roll. Believe it! The other groups already met their new teachers and took off on some adventure or something, and Iruka-sensei's gone, too.

Sakura: We know, okay?

Soha: Is this our first test? To wait around a be patient, because if this is, it's completely ridiculous.

(Naruto suddenly got a stool from nowhere and grabbed an eraser. He got up on the stool.)

Sakura: <to Naruto> Hey! What are you doing?

(Naruto began to chuckle evilly when he placed the eraser high up in between the tiny door opening.)

Sakura: <sternly> Naruto!

Naruto: That's what he gets for coming late. Surprise!

(He jumped off the stool.)

Soha: You can't be serious right now, Naruto.

Sakura: Yeah, you're just asking for trouble. You know you shouldn't do that.

Sasuke: Our teacher's a Jonin— an elite ninja. You'd think he'd fall for that?

Mikoto: Not to mention he'll probably beat your ass for doing that.

Sakura: Yeah. Sasuke and Mikoto are right. You're so clueless, Naruto.

(Suddenly, a hand reached into the classroom, causing the four to gasp. The door opened, and the eraser fell on a spikey-haired ninja with a mask covering his mouth, and a forehead protector covering his left eye.)

Sakura/Mikoto/Soha/Sasuke: O__O

Naruto: <laughing> I got him! He totally fell for it!

The ninja didn't speak.

Sakura: <to the ninja> I'm sorry, sensei. I told him not to do it, but he wouldn't listen. I'd never do something like that.

Sasuke: <whispering to Mikoto> He actually fell for that cheap trick? Is this guy really a Jonin?

Mikoto: I don't know. And why's half of his face covered?

The ninja slowly picked up the eraser off the floor.

Ninja: Hm. How can I put this? My first impression of this group: You're a bunch of idiots.

Mikoto/Soha/Sasuke/Naruto/Sakura: '-____-

Later...

(The five genin and the one Jonin were on the roof of the Academy. Mikoto and Sasuke sat next to each other, while Sakura, Soha, and Naruto sat in front of them.)

Ninja: <to the kids> All right. Why don't you introduce yourselves one at a time?

Sakura: Introduce ourselves? Well, what do we say?

Ninja: Things you like. Things you hate. Dreams for the future. Hobbies. Things like that.

Naruto: Why don't you tell us stuff first? I mean, before we talk, tell us about you, so we can see how it's supposed to work.

Ninja: Me? I'm Kakashi Hatake.

Kakashi: Things I like and things I hate— I don't feel like telling you that.

Sakura/Naruto: Huh?

Kakashi: My dreams for the future— never really thought about it. As for my hobbies— I have lots of hobbies.

Soha: <rolling his eyes> Wow, how helpful.

Sakura: <to Naruto and Soha> Yeah, that was totally useless. All he really told us was his name.

Kakashi: All right, your turn. <to Naruto> You on the right— you first.

Naruto: Believe it. I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I like instant ramen in a cup, and I really like the ramen Iruka-sensei got me at the Ichiraku noodle shop. But I hate the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the water in the ramen cup. My hobby is eating different kinds of ramen and comparing 'em. My future dream is to be the greatest Hokage. Then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody— somebody important.

(Soha smiled at Naruto.)

Kakashi: All right. <to Soha> Next.

Soha: My name is Soha Uzumaki. I like hanging out with Naruto and training. I hate when people shun us or insult us for known reasons. My hobby is training, eating Ramen, and keeping Naruto out of trouble. My future dream is to leave the Hidden Leaf Village one day and start my own village where I can be my own Kage.

(Mikoto looked at Soha, astonished over what he was insuinating.)

Kakashi: All right. <to Sakura> Next.

Sakura: I'm Sakura Haruno. What I like— uh— I mean, the people I like is— <looks at Sasuke> Uh, my hobby is— uh— <giggles> My dream for the future is— <looks at Sasuke; squeals>

Kakashi: And? What do you hate?

Sakura: Naruto!

(Naruto screamed with tears in his eyes.)

Mikoto: <thinking> Well that was pathetic.

Kakashi: <to Sasuke> You.

Sasuke: My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, and I don't particularly like anything except for Mikoto. My hobbies are probably hanging out with Mikoto, I guess. What I have is not a dream because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore my clan and destroy a certain someone.

(Mikoto looked at the ground, while everyone else looked at Sasuke.)

Kakashi: <to Mikoto> Last one.

Mikoto: <smiles> My name is Mikoto Uchiha. I like to eat and hang out with Sasuke. I hate annoying people, fangirls <looks at Sakura>, and bullies. My hobby is to sleep and train. My future dream is Sasuke's dream to restore our clan and eliminate someone.

Kakashi: Good. You're each unique, and you have your own ideas. We'll have our first mission tomorrow.

Naruto: <happily> Uh, what kind of mission are we going to have?

Kakashi: It's a task the six of us will do together.

Naruto: What? What? What? What?

Kakashi: A survival exercise.

Naruto: Huh? Survival exercise?

Sakura: I thought we were supposed to have a real mission, not more practice. We already did this stuff at the academy. That's how we got here.

Kakashi: This is not like your previous training.

Soha: So what kind of training is it then?

(Kakashi just laughed.)

Sakura: Hey, hold on. That's a normal question. What's so funny?

Kakashi: Heh, well, if I tell you the answer, you're not going to like it.

Naruto: Huh?

Kakashi: Of the 28 graduates who just came here, only 10 will actually be accepted as Genin. The other 18 will be weeded out and sent back to the academy. In other words, this is make it or break it, pass-fail test, and the chance that you'll fail is at least 66%.

(Naruto, Soha and Sakura both made shocked faces, while Sasuke and Mikoto furrowed their eyebrows and looked down.)

Soha: <muttering> Fun.

Kakashi: See? Didn't I tell you that you wouldn't like it?

Naruto: That's crazy! We worked hard to get here. Believe it! What was that graduation test for anyway?

Kakashi: Oh, that. That was just to select candidates who might be Genin— or not.

Naruto: <shocked> What?

Kakashi: That's how it is. I decide whether you pass or fail. Be at the designated training spot at 5:00 a.m., and bring your ninja gear.

(All five of the students began to tell themselves that they won't fail.)

Kakashi: <getting up> That's it. You're dismissed. Oh, tomorrow you better skip breakfast, or else you'll puke.

Mikoto: No.

(But Kakashi already jumped off the building and ran off somewhere. Sakura and Naruto sighed.)

Sakura: I don't wanna fail. I worked hard to get here.

Naruto: Do you think Kakashi-sensei is joking?

Soha: I doubt it. He seemed like he was telling the truth. <To Naruto> You better take this seriously!

Naruto I will! Believe it!

(Once Sakura, Soha, and Naruto left, Mikoto turned to Sasuke, who was still seated.)

Mikoto: <to Sasuke> You know, you should learn to speak more. You seem emo keeping quiet.

Sasuke: I don't need to speak. I just need to become a Shinobi so we can finally kill Itachi and Akari.

Mikoto: <sighs> Sasuke, just focus on what's happening right now. We'll get your revenge soon enough, so focus on spending your time here with me. <smiles>

(Sasuke looked at Mikoto and smiled a little back.)

Sasuke: Whatever, Mikoto.

Mikoto: Well, I'm going to go eat all I can since I can't have breakfast tomorrow. You coming with me?

Sasuke stood up.

Sasuke: Sure, why not?

(The two smirked at each other and jumped off the building, and ran into town.)
