Kandy wakes up to her dog sniffling. She feels his wet nose against her shoulder so she opens her eyes. The machine is gone. Was it all a dream?

She shivers, its cold. Her feet are frozen, touching frosty grass. A cold breeze flutters into her eyes. She blinks and squints her eyes. The dog licks her face "Alastair, help." she manages to say before she falls into a slumber yet again. 

The sun blazes down and Kandy yawns. She reaches out and strokes the dog "I will call you Alastair." she smiles and hugs him "We better be going boy.". She looks around and gets up. Kandy grabs her backpack and wipes her eyes to get all the sleep out.

Kandy picks Alastair up and wraps him in her cloak "We'll find a shop and treat your leg soon." she says to comfort the young pup. As they walk on Kandy starts to notice that it gets cooler with every few steps, and there is a strange noise...like a crashing? She realizes she hasn't been looking at her surroundings, and when she looks up she recognizes the place... 

Her home town.

And that noise is the sea crashing on the rocks. It's the beach!

Alastair sniffs the salty air as Kandy walks down to the sea front "Hey boy, look at this. This can help your wound." She sets Alastair on the sandy floor and he looks at her strangely. He then proceeds to sit down and not budge. "Fine," Kandy laughs at him and runs into the water. The feeling washes over her and she remembers the time she was six years old. It was her birthday and her grandparents came down from Seattle to see her. They had a picnic on the beach and Kandy was swimming for most of the day.

Alastair follows her in, looking nervous. He dips a paw in and winces "Hey boy. It's okay," she says and then he runs in looking happy and peaceful.
