So, time for random rant (skip if you wish to)
Remember Winx Club? Yeah, that was my childhood cartoon. I remember refusing to go outside before it because I want to watch every damn episode. It was good--how all the girls have different personalities, telling us anyone can be savior fairy warriors or whatever, all the way to Season 3.

I liked it best because in this season, transformation comes with a cause. You only get Enchantix if you sacrifice your life for someone from your homeland. That's good. I like high stakes.

Season 4 was okay, I guess, though there was a plot hole (they say Enchantix is the last transformation...? And what do we have now, huh?? Mythix or whatever crap..?)

But then, Season 5 came and all went spiraling to the descending chaotic hell.

I watched it again (after a long hiatus because...well, I grew up) recently and was shocked to see how it turned out now. The younger fans who just started the fandom might say it's still good. But here I am with the older fans, going all, wtf is this rubbish?

No plot. No depth. No sweet, meaningful interaction between characters (no, man, Bloom and Sky aren't cute. If you think about it properly, Diaspro had it hard and it's all Bloom's fault. Sky is engaged to her yet he turned to Bloom instead. Imagine being in Diaspro's place. Poor girl).
Random "save the earth" theme coming up in one episode than disappear completely. When Bloom comes in, they automatically wins without needing teamwork or whatever (what's the use of the rest, then?) One small power send them fainting for the whole fight. Their reaction is slow as hell. Fashion is more important. All the characters are almost the same now. Where did their personalities go??

Recently was the ending episodes of Season...7 I think. I heard this line where Marian (don't remember her name) said to the Winx "In the end good wins over evil", to which I, a skeptic who likes to rant while watching the show (I did this to Dora and Shimmer and Shine too because it's fun lol also because I'm an a-hole) says, "How do you know you're the good? You trap people in books. You hurt others too."

Like I said, I'm a fan of grey morality.

They seriously should've stopped after Season 4 at most.

Also, I watched this other series by Ignio Straffi (I was bored, okay? Shut up) called Regal Academy.
Basically it's Ever After High (Yeett! I love that show! The grey morality is actually pretty heavy there) but...more Winx elements.

I cringe at some things (ha! Don't say I don't know anything. I watched every episode), especially the main character (her flaw is clumsiness. That's it. Like oh my god, I hate how she trips over everything because she's too busy fangirling over the fairytale characters while everyone else is fighting the Bad Guy of The Day.
I have two favorite characters there, though. Astoria Rapunzel is pretty cool, with her priorities in check (GRADES over everything else including her crush lol), Joy leFrog is cute because she's very...different. She herself cried once, saying she's not a princess (It's okay, babe, princesses are overrated. You being a frog is perfect), not smartest, bravest, prettiest, nicest, or strongest like her friends are. That's what I like about her. I love underdogs.
