The final battle
Alex Stowe stood at the shores of the magical land of Artimè as a fleet of ships approached, bringing with them the promise of death and battle. He wished desperately that Florence were there for she was better at planning battles and with the number of pirates and Warblarians on those ships he needed all the help he could get.
Suddenly someone tapped his shoulder, it was Sky. "I came to tell you that you shouldn't worry, I have a plan and I think it will work," She said excitedly "remember when Aaron brought the wings to life, well I was thinking, if we cast that spell on some of the trees in the forest, give them eyes, and preserve them than maybe we could have a bigger army. Then afterwards we can order the trees back to were they where, just like the origami dragons!" She spoke so fast it was hard to belive she had ever been mute.
Alex stared for a second before breaking into a huge smile "Brilliant! You're brilliant!" He shouted making Sky blush. He then grabbed her waist and spin her around, both laughing.

Aaron Stowe watched this from afar smiling to himself in slight confusion as Alex ran to tell Simber. He looked towards the shore where Crow sat with Thisbe and Fifer, enjoying the last hours of peace.
Aaron walked over and plopped down on the sand, startling Crow and making the girls giggle. Aaron had found that he enjoyed being around his sisters much more than he enjoyed being with others. Perhaps it was their innocence and ignorance to the Aaron before the island of shipwrecks.
As he watched the twins he tried to make small talk with the boy next to him "Sorry if I'm being a bother, I just wanted to see my sisters before Warbler and the pirates attack."
Crow shook his head "No you're okay, it's just..." he trailed off
"Its just, what?" Aaron asked pushing him for an answer. Crow dropped his gaze
"When I came here from Warbler everyone said you were awful, you were the constant enemy that we were fighting. But here you are, a perfectly normal guy wanting to see his baby sisters, I just don't get it."
Aaron froze then slowly thought of his response "People change," he answered simply "and I truly was awful back then." They fell into an uncomfortable silence before Aaron tried again remembering Sky's suggestion to try and socialize. "So you're from Warbler?" He asked awkwardly.
Crow nodded "It was horrible, they threaded thorns into our necks so we couldn't speak." Aaron touched his own neck absently, trying to imagine how it felt.
"How did you get rid of it?" He asked genuinely curious.
Crow grimaced "Alex used a spell, 'Dissapate', I think. It makes anything disappear into thin air. I remember being so sure he was gonna mess up and make me disappear instead."
Aaron was suddenly struck with an idea and jumped up "Thank you Crow but I have to find Alex, it's been nice speaking with you!" He yelled and sprinted towards the mansion, leaving behind two disappointed sisters and a confused Crow.

Meanwhile Alex and Ms.Octavia sculpted little figurines that depicted small groups of trees and placed them on a large map of Artimè that Alex had drawn. Around them stood Sky, Kaylee, Lani, Samheed, Carina, Sean, Claire Morning, Gunnar Haluki and Simber. All of them watching intently and trying to figure out a battle plan. Lani spoke up "What if we used elemental magic like Gondoleery Ratrapp and freeze the water around the boats so they get stuck. Then they'll have no choice but to come to land."
Kaylee smiled widely and her eyes glimmered intelligently "That's a great idea Lani! And we can all have ice skates so we don't slip and fall and we can meet them halfway to land, then we'll have an advantage!" At this everyone looked at Kaylee quizically.
"What's an 'ice skate'?" Everyone looked to see Aaron standing exhilarated at the doorway, even so he still managed to look expertly confused.
Kaylee raised an eyebrow then replied "An ice skate is a shoe with a blade of metal on the bottom used to glide on ice. I can give you all lessons on how too if you want." She paused "Actually now that I think about it if you put one of those scatterclip thingys on the bottom of your shoes it could work."
Aaron blinked then looked at Alex who accepted the plan and sent Simber to gather some of the younger unwanteds to collect shoes and add on scatterclips. When the job was finished Kaylee would instruct the army on how to skate. It would certainly be an amusing sight. Aaron remembered what he had run there for and ran over to his brother.
"I also have an idea! I was speaking with Crow on the shore and he mentioned a certain spell you used to take off the thorns he had in his neck." Alex's eyes lit up as he realized what Aaron was saying. "My thought was that you teach that spell to some of your best fighters on the front line so they'll have a non-component spell to defend themselves." Everyone jumped on the idea and soon they had a working battle plan. Finally Alex felt confident and calmed down a little, at this Sky smiled and put her hand over his. Everything was going to be okay.
A/N
Hello! Um sorry this is kinda short but I'm really new to writing Fan fiction and I'm really thankful to everyone reading this. I plan on writing fanfic for small fandoms. If anyone has any suggestions on what happened in those 10 years between the end of The Unwanteds and The Unwanteds Quests I'll be happy to write about it. Hopefully I get better.
I dunno how to end this........
Bye I guess! 😁❤🌼
