The Unwanted Rose|14
Writer's P.O.V
Rosie has now reached calm. Her tongue only uttered extremely important words. She was functioning like a robot now. Her black eyes emotionless, blank.
Seashore was one of the things which always sparked people's attention. The cool water kissed the shore like two separate lovers. Standing near the sea you can feel the love, the calm and happiness in the air. The excitement and feeling of belonging that the waves carried. The smell of salty water and the coarse sand under your feet made you feel at home. That's a different type of calm though. The calm she was feeling was the numb type of calm.
But refreshing for her certainly. Rosie personally got addicted to the feeling it carried. It was so easy to wake up in the morning and feel no emotions. It was a blessing for her. She embraced the feeling and behaved liked a robot in her own house.
To protect her already broken heart from being wounded whenever she saw the two couples cuddling on the sofa watching a romantic movie. When she saw Pari sleeping on him on the diwan as she tucked him in. It was great, the numbness. Tears didn't escaped as she saw them peck each other before they left for work. It was amazing. The loneliness finally felt like a relief. The home she built over the years suddenly felt like a house. The love she had for him suddenly felt painful. The life she had in herself suddenly draining.
But she was happy, that she got the power to face them. Now she was stronger, more in control of her emotions. Her eyes were like deserts eager for rain but the numbness in her helped her direct it away. Amazing isn't it?
She was finally free of all pain and misery. She couldn't hear their voice anymore. She realised that this numbness was her freedom. God truly pitied her to finally make her numb.

It has been weak, the wedding is in three days. The house is decorated beautifully, she could see the joy in everyone's eyes. They were happy for him. She was as well.
Lighting the diyas around the house, she instructed the workers. As she was walking around the garden she slammed into a hard body. Looking up she met his brown eyes.
"When did you arrive?" She asked him, her face blank as she stepped back. He was wearing a red tie and black shirt, his sleeves rolled up at the cuffs.
"Today" He replied frowning as he saw her blank face and emotionless eyes. As she was going to turn back around, he held her wrist and pulled her towards the back garden.
"Are you okay?" He asked her she nodded at him like a doll.
"No I am asking Rosie is she okay? You are acting like a doll" He asked her worry evident in his tone. His voice hit a spot somewhere in Rosie's composure. She blinked at him.
"Yes she is great" Rosie answered him like a robot. Which made him more frustrated. Shaking her shoulders he came closer to her and looked into her dead eyes.
"What happened Rosie?" He asked his voice soft as if asking a delicate baby. Rosie tried to shake herself away from him, she didn't want him to break the wall that she built around herself. But the man in front of her has managed to trespass the wall by uttering few words.
Seeing no response from the lifeless doll who hardly resembled Rosie. Karthik cursed himself for leaving her in such a weak state. He regretted leaving her alone by herself in the house.
"Rosie listen to me. Talk to me, shout at me, at least cry but don't look at me like that. You are scaring me" Karthik said gazing at her lifeless eyes, she resembled a ghost. That's what scared him the most. He can't let this girl break easily, she was the strongest person he had ever met. But seeing her blank stare broke his heart.
"I am dead", She said her voice hollow, no emotions in her words. Her words hit him. He became vulnerable in front of her very eyes and got on his knees.
"No Rosie you can't break... you are my only.. hope. Please bring her back" He begged her his brown eyes shedding a tear for the first time. Looking at him in such a state made something in her heart stir. She got down on her knees as well.
"I can't" She whispered, her vulnerable voice echoed in the small garden. Karthik looked at the girl in front of him and then held her in his arms delicately as if she was porcelain that could crack. She didn't hug him back though.
"Hold me for a while," She said to him slowly. He did so as he felt her shaking in his arms. She was crying silently in the beginning and then slowly she started shaking. He cradled in her arms as she cried her eyes out. She was a broken woman. He realised. Not the Rosie he left.
All traces of liveliness has left her. She was just a broken shell of a woman who was living like a prisoner in the body. The look in her eyes was what terrified him the most. It was the same look his brother had before he committed suicide. He can't let her do the same.
He can't break the promise he made years ago. He will save her. Her shaking has stopped and he could hear her snoring cutely. It brought a smile to his face, he carried her to her room and stayed with her till she woke up again. Holding her hand.
