PART 12 LLOYD
Lloyd ran through birchwood forest as a gray ninja chased him. He looked over his shoulder but he imediatly turned back around to press onward. His legs burned, he had been running so much. He panted as his chest ached. He moaned and fell to his stomach. The ninja stood by his head. Lloyd looked up at him. He ripped off his mask. "He" was Willow, scowling and a deep purple, glowing from her eyes.
"Willow?" He breathed.
"This is for your own good," Willow spat, forming two balls of darkness."Golden Ninja." She growled and lurched towards him. Lloyd gasped and sat up. He was inside a pitch black room.
"Lloyd," A voice said.
"Father," Lloyd muttered, standing.
"There is a new foe, stronger than we have ever faced."
"Who? The controllers?"
"No." Garmdon replied. A light turned on and Lloyd saw Willow, looking down. What was she doing here? Could she be the foe Garmadon meant?
"Willow?" Lloyd said. Garmadon's voice had gone."Dad?"
The Golden Master appeared next to Willow and put his hand on Willow's shoulder. Willow looked at Lloyd and scowled. They turned and walked away from Lloyd.
What?
"Willow?" He called."What... No! Willow!" Lloyd gasped and sat up. He was back in the dojo. He panted as he felt his heartbeat underneath of his palm. He shook his head. Someone sat up.
"Lloyd?" She whispered. Willow. She got up and sat next to him."You okay?"
"No," Lloyd replied."I..." He didn't want to tell her. He couldn't tell her.
"Oh..." She muttered."Is it the... Nightmares again?"
"Yeah."
"Oh." There was an awkward silence."What was it? Like... Was I in it?"
"No." Lloyd looked away from her.
Stop lying to her.
"Yes I was." She said sternly.
"No," He assured."You weren't."
"Lloyd," She said, putting her hand on his."Was I in you're dream?" He closed his eyes and sighed. He couldn't tell her what his father told him in that nightmare. So, he had to lie. It was the only way to protect her. If he told her, she might run away, and Lloyd did not want to lose he again. He hated the thought of her running off again. He had to prevent that. He had to. Did he? He also hated the fact that he didn't trust her enough to tell her things. Now he was even more hesitant to tell her! He furiously shook his head.
"Yes," He said finally, meeting her eyes."You were in my dream."
"What..." She started."What happened? I mean... What was I..."
"You..." Lloyd sighed."You don't want to know."
"My friend is having dreams with me in them, and I'm being consumed by darkness," She rolled her eyes."Of course I don't want to know."
Sarcasm. One of Lloyd's greatest enemies.
"You... Were with the Overlord and you left with him. You were also chasing me through birchwood forest and you attacked me."
"Oh... Hey... Are those dreams... changing your trust in me?"
Come on. Don't lie. Lying always makes it worse.
"Of course not."
Darn it.
Willow stayed silent and looked away."Well... Good night."
"Good night." She got up and went back over to her sleeping bag. Lloyd lied back down and didn't sleep another wink the rest of night.
WILLOW
Willow woke to the sound of voices. She opened her eyes and saw Lloyd, Kai, Cole, Steel, Nya, Sensei and Jay.
Wait. Steel?
She sat up and stared at Steel, who stared back at her.
"Steel?" She breathed.
"Hi, Willow." He said. She stood and hugged him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I..." Steel shook his head and Cole cleared his throat.
"Kai and I went for a walk in birchwood forest and we found him there, out cold." He said.
"Oh..."
"I also found out that when you and Lloyd captured--"
"The first or the second time?"
"The first. Anyway. When you two were kidnapped, I discovered the controllers implanted a chip on on the back of your head." Willow instantly clasped her hand on the back of her head.
"How do you know?" Kai asked. Steel held up a tiny computer chip.
"They did it to me too." He crushed it into smaller peices. Willow took of the device and smashed it too.
"What are they for?" Jay questioned.
"They're tracking devices." Steel answered."They could see through your eyes, Willow. They could see everything you could and know exactly where you are."
"What're you saying?" Willow said nervously.
"You guys have to leave."
"But where will we go?" Lloyd asked.
"Somewhere..." Steel said.
"What about the Samurai X cave?" Kai recommended.
"Good idea." Nya said.
"I also learned those chips can cause serious pain." Steel sighed."They did to keep our mouths shut."
"But..." Willow started although she couldn't think of anything to say."I-I..."
"Maybe we should split up,"Cole said. Willow and Lloyd looked at each other."Just in case." Lloyd stepped forward.
"No." He sternly."I don't want this family to be broken any more than it already it is."
"He's right." Jay said, smiling.
Kai grinned."From now on, we stick together."
"To the Samurai X cave!" Jay blurted triumphantly.
* * *
Willow and Steel gasped as they looked arouns Nya's cave. It was... What was the word... HUGE.
"Willow?" Lloyd said to Willow, who was next to her."Are... Are you okay?"
"I'm fine." She said."I guess." Willow was lying. She wasn't fine. Her entire family is dead and She has dark powers that are...hurting her.
"Now," Nya said."If we're gonna beat those guys, we have to figure out where they're hiding."
"Can you remember anything, Steel?" Jay questioned. Steel just shook his head.
"What about that place beneath Borg Industries?" Kai asked.
"Not likely," Cole replied."Why would they hide in the one place we know about?"
"But..." Willow said slowly."That's why it'd be the perfect place to hide."
"You're right!" Lloyd blurted."It's the least logical place to hide so why not hide there?"
Suddenly, the room went dark and Willow felt something bang up her spine to her head. She cried out throught clenched teeth and reeled back clutching her head. A bright image struck her head. All of her friends, on the ground.
"Willow!" The six voices exclaimed.
"Ugh," Willow choked out."N-no..."
"Willow," Sensei Wu said calmly."Remember your training. Control your fear."
"I-I can't." The vision came again, more severe this time. The pain in Willow's head became a throb and she let out a starngled cry.
"Willow," Wu said, walking forward so he can be in front of Willow."Focus."
"Uncle," Lloyd scolded."Can't you help her? Do... something!"
"The only way she can be helped is for her to control herself."
"But--"
"Lloyd," Kai said."Just... Listen to Sensei."
Control it... Come on...
LLOYD
Willow became silent and Lloyd looked at her. She released her head and closed her eyes. She looked down. Lloyd tilted his head at her.
"Are you alright Willow?" He stood in front of her and frowned, worried."Willow?" She looked up and opened her eyes, which were purple. Lloyd gasped and stepped back. Once his eyes focused, he saw Willow was looking at him in confusion.
"What was that?" Kai said.
"It was..." Lloyd started but caught himself."Nothing. It was nothing."
"You sure?" Wilow asked, taking his hands.
"Yeah," Lloyd said, releasing her hands and looking away from her."Come on... Shouldn't we get to the controllers' hide out?"
WILLOW
What was that all about? Is Lloyd okay?
Wherever there is light, That voice was not Steel's. There is shadow. And in shadow lives the blackest of darkness.
That voice made Willow shiver. It sounded like nails screeching against a chalkboard. She shook her head.
But, in a way, it sounded familiar. Like, Willow was... Connected to it...
* * *
And the darkness will return. Inside the weilder of Darkness. Willow. I will return. . .
In your Spirit of Darkness.
