I wake up in my warm comfortable bed, I turn my head towards my clock that sat by my bed side table. It was 5:45am ugh its to early to wake up at this time, why did I anyway? I ask my self looking around my room. I gave up wondering and put my head back on my pillow and just as I tried to go to sleep I heard the floor boards creaking down stairs I froze in bed holding my breath who's in the house? Mum and dad are at work by now so who could possibly be here? I think to myself.

I heard the creaking stop downstairs and I soon relaxed and closed my eyes when BANG, CRASH I then heard the sound of someone run around down stairs I quickly get up from bed and pull the sheets over as if I was never there, I hide under my bed which lucky for me the blankets stretch over the sides and the cabinet that sat next to my bed shielded me from view.

I listened carefully as the intruder walked up the stairs, I held my breath hoping the intruder would turn around, suddenly the foot steps come to a hault in front of my door way, I can see the figure through the sheets, the figure wore Black boots, long jeans and.......

"Lindsay where are you?" Dad calls out

I move out from under my bed hearing my dads voice god why would he do that he could have given me a heart attack I say to myself, "here" I say looking at his face.

"What were you doing under the bed?" Dad asked glancing between the bed and me.

"I thought you were an intruder so I hid under the bed." I tell him looking at him sternly.

"Oh sorry sweet heart I didn't mean to scare you I was trying to find the light switch cause a bulb had blown for the light when I fell and so did the cabinet." He says looking at me with sorrow.

"Oh thats okay" I tell him walking up to him to give him a hug he then hugged back smiling down at me. "Where are you going?" I ask noticing the duffle back that sat by my door way.

"I'm going out onto the mines they called saying they had a new job opening and they hoped I would take it and I of course accepted it, so now I'm heading off to the airport to take a flight up to prim-ridge mine sight" dad says looking around.

"Thats really awesome dad, congrats do you know how long you will be gone for?" I ask looking him in the eye.

"I'll be gone for two weeks" he says with sadness written on his face in tone.

"Awe no dad, I hate when you go for so long." I tell him feeling sad "I love you dad, I'm so proud of you for getting this opportunity." I tell him with a smile plastered on my face.

"I love you to Sweetheart, thank you it means a lot" dad says giving me a hug "Sadly I have to head off now other wise I will be late, I love you kiddo look after your mum for me please, I'll call you tomorrow." Dad said giving me one last hug and kiss on the head before he turned on his heal, picked up his bag and left down the stairs and out the front door to his car. I hear the engine start and him leave.

Im to awake now to go back to sleep so I decide to have a nice shower and get dressed. I pick a lovely burgundy tank top and black jeans to match, and a pair of boots. I move to the bathroom again and put on some mascara and foundation, I hate caking my face so I only do a natural look but even then you wouldn't even know if I had put any on.

I finished getting ready when I decided to go down stairs and eat breakfast whilst watching the movie Sydney White.

The clock reached 7:39am when the movie finished, I took my bowl of cereal to the sink and grabbed my stuff as I left for school deciding that walking would be good for me plus it will kill off some time whilst walking to school.

The morning air was cool and refreshing not to cold as the season was changing to summer it had been a cold year lately but is now heating up thank goodness for that.

As I'm walking along I hear my name being shouted faintly in the distance I look back to see Aaron Bowden running towards me.
