"Salma, you look gorgeous today" he randomly said again

"OMG, Nas, did you take something after I left yesterday?" I narrowed my eyes because everything was getting outta hands right now.

"Yeahh, I took something... something new..." He stopped

Chapter Thirty Three
Salma's POV
I looked at him blankly when he paused.

"You have a naughty mind, can't I just say you look gorgeous please?" He asked

"Because...?" I asked

"Aren't we friends?" He chuckled

"We are but..."

"No buts, friends can compliment each other please" he interrupted me

"Come on, come on... let's start please" He changed the entire thing

We started with a normal study routine that we agreed on.

"Is your mum around?" I asked curiously

"No, she isn't, got anything for her?" he raised his eyebrow

"Nope, just asked" after that we went back to studying, the place was quite a good place for studying. After a few hours, we both agreed to have an interval with snacks.

"Wow, you've got a nice kitchen here"

"You want something home made? You can cook for yourself" he suggested

"Nahhh, being a while I even cooked, haven't cooked or done any home chore since Ummul Kulthum started working, I used to do every single thing in my house because my mum..." I stopped when I realized I was saying what I didn't want to say, he just looked at me when I paused

"But you've got an elder sister, isn't she supposed to..."

"She's in school..." I tried to answer with the best reply but I couldn't get any and I got a chance to change the entire subject when I laid my eyes on a packet of chocolates

"OMG, you've got these...these are my favorites, can I take some?"

"Yeah, you can" he grumbled

After that, we went back to study for one hour and I went home but neither his mum nor dad still came back.

Things went that way till we started exams and Nasir's house became a regular place for me, went to school twice a week. Students had their ears up for gossips from the GosSip when they heard why I was regularly absent from classes. There was even a time Hauwa walked right up to me and said

"So, you are hanging out with the elites now" she smirked and rubbed her hair which was open. I'm not judging but she's a Muslim please, hmm maybe that's how she defines her faith, "there's no compulsion in religion" . I was surprised at her and I effortlessly went ahead to answer her dumb question.

"That depends on what you have stored in your lil brain capacity in regards to the meaning of the word...elite" immediately I said that a few students around snapped their fingers and some laughed out loudly.

I can still remember Jackson's reaction, he was like

"Woah! Woah! Woah!" As he closed his mouth.

She didn't even say anything, she just kept quiet and walked out of the cafe with her new crew.

At the end of the month, The GosSip was published with pictures and the school's current news, it was more like an update. First page contained our victory in the football game and presentation. I even learnt Hauwa broke up with her boyfriend, Jax, It's not surprising that they are dating though, birds of the same feather... There was a line that said she broke up with him because she was eyeing someone, all is well even in the well.

Pictures of me and Nasir were also in the magazine with a question mark, asking if we are a thing, funny fellows.

The biggest thing was about Hauwa and her crew. The first was her fight with Darby, the writer wrote it as if he or she was present, well... it'd be possible if he or she was present, can't say. The second was about Hauwa and Mr Ken, I think that was what led to their fight, don't know though. Mr Ken has also lost his job, I think he was fired two days after the magazine was published.

Nasir's ankle was healing really fast and it was interesting.

Third Person's POV
The final year students of Salma's school were all busy with exams and projects. Things were going a bit normal and a lil above the stress graph.

The GosSip was published during the exam's first week which was the last week of the month, students were so eager to read it.

Darby Baker was the luckiest because her relationship with Brenda Acker wasn't revealed.

"I must be the luckiest girl on earth" she said while munching a chip

"Yeahh, did you tell Brenda about how worried you were" Amelia asked her

"Hmm, I did, I always talk about it to him"

"He probably was the one that got a way for it not to get aired" Amelia guessed

"Well, maybe, I'm just so happy because I don't know what would have happened if that was leaked. To be honest, I love Brenda and I don't want us to be destroyed...Hauwa was the one who leaked this one too till..." Darby said

"No...no! Don't say that, she might have and might have not..." Amelia objected to what Darby said and Darby agreed to the points she made.

"I just pity Hauwa for a second, to be honest, Mr Ken will use and dumb her"

"More like he has used her, right? Darby rolled her eyes when Amelia talked about Hauwa's sexual relationship with Mr Ken

"He was fired too" Amelia said

"What the fuck! Swear!" Darby gasped

"I'm fucking serious!"

"OMG" Darby covered her mouth

"Did you think nothing would be done to him?" Amelia asked her

"Noo... just didn't think of that sorta punishment you know"

"Well, that's their fucking business!"

"How was today's paper?" Darby completely changed the discussion

Amelia told her how good her paper was and they went on to talk about how they've been planning to appear on their prom day.

"I don't really like that idea..."

"Which one?" Brenda interrupted by pecking Darby on her cheek as they sat in a secluded place, no one to snap them or do anything.

"Haha..." Amelia lightly laughed

"Hope you girls are doing superb!" He asked as he sat down close to Darby who was opposite Amelia

"We are doing good" Darby answered

"I thank God we are about to end High School life!" Brenda said

"Yeahhh"

"Hey dude..." Jax walked up to them

"I knew I'd find you here" He added

The four of them continued chatting because they had the last paper for the day, most of the conversation was made by Jax and Brenda, at a point, Amelia kinda got bored of them and decided to go home

"Guys, I need to go home now, got something with my sis" she smiled

"Ohh, my regards to Jane please" Darby said

On the other end, Salma, Nasir, Hammad and Jackson went to a cafe near the school.

"I think Salma has started eating too much these days, she's gonna fucking finish..." Nasir started

"You better stop it Nas, you and Jackson won't allow this girl rest, you made her start eating in public and now... you are complaining...!" Hammad said

"Thank you so much bro!" Salma smiled at him

"You brought it upon yourselves" Hammad added

"Ohh come ooonnn, dude?" Salma raised her eyebrows when Hammad switched to supporting Nasir again.

"It has been a while I ate your Mama's food" Jackson carelessly uttered

"That's true, Aryan and Arianna miss you, totally forgot to extend their greetings" Hammad said

"I was really happy when they visited me that day..." Nasir joined them

"...it was a really beautiful day. Your mum is a really cool woman and it's obviously too cool that your dad got sometime to also join them" Nasir went on to tell them about how grateful he was for their visit.

"Guess what guys?" Hammad chipped in

"You have drugs that'd make Nasir keep quiet for the next 30 days?" Salma made a wild guess

"Come onnn you don't hate me that much?" Nasir chuckled

"I do, you kinda talk too much..."

"... doesn't he?" She turned to Jackson who raised his hands up.

"Don't involve me" Hammad said when  she turned to him

"I'm serious, you talk too much for a guy" Salma opened her soft drink's bottle

"Wait, you mean girls talk more than boys?" Nasir gasped dramatically

"No... that's... isn't..." She stuttered

"Listen guys, Salma, don't talk, Nas..." He made a zip sign body language and they both kept quiet

"I think I'm gonna make excellent grades due to how these exams are and I'm getting a new car... you remember the deal..." Hammad joyfully said

"Yeahh, I remember" Jackson nodded his head

"We do" Nasir said effortlessly

"You and who?" Salma asked

"You and I, of course!" Nasir laughed

"Mttchheewww" Salma hissed as she tried so hard to stop her lips from curling into a smile.

"I'm a handsome dude sweetheart" Nasir said

"What...? Even Jackson looks better than you" Hammad and Nasir laughed out loudly while Jackson didn't

"Salma?" Jackson called her

"Hmm" she answered him without lifting her head from her phone

"What did you say?" Jackson faked annoyance

"OMG..." She started laughing when she realized what she said.

"Payback time is coming" he chuckled

"Does that mean you are the ugliest one among us?" Nasir acted surprised. After sometime, they all ate and prepared to leave.

"I'll drop Nasir and Salma at their destinations respectively and we'll go to your house" Jackson suggested

"Won't you spend more time my gentleman?" madam Stella smiled

"Hmm, I have somewhere to go my lady" Jackson bowed to the woman as he chuckled.

"Ok, gentleman"

"Good evening ma'am" Salma smiled

"Always formal" Madam Stella smiled

"Don't you know...aw!...aw!...aw..." Nasir wanted to make history repeat itself but Salma was fast to pinch him unnoticeably because she was close to him

"Good evening ma" Jackson greeted Hammad's mum when they entered the house.

"Ariaaannn!" Jackson ratted out

"It has been a while" Arian said

"Hmm, yeahhh..." He went to chat with him while Hammad went upstairs

Arianna which is one hell of a jealous girl was offended when she saw Jackson and Arian together so she didn't say anything, she just came to the parlor, sat down and tapped her feet but they didn't even notice her as they were so engrossed with their discussion on cars.

"Eeehhimm" she coughed and that was the same time the two of them bursted out laughing on something.

"That is hilarious!" Aryan said

"Yeahh" they bumped their fist and laughed

"Eeehhimm!" Arianna raised her head up and coughed but neither of them still said anything

"Jack, really?" She couldn't take it anymore so she just walked right up to him

"Haha, thought you'd continue sitting there" Arianna laughed

"Nahh, nothing's going on here, you know you'll always be my favorite!" Jack smiled at her

"Better now" she also smiled

"I'll be leaving ma'am" Jackson informed Hammad's mom

"Why so soon? You can..."

"I have something to do ma'am" he immediately chipped in because he knows if she goes on, she'll convince him to stay

"See you tomorrow bro!" Hammad bid him a farewell when he accompanied him to the gate.

Jackson drove to their house but he didn't park the car inside, he just parked it outside because he wanted to go get something from the grocery store.

He quietly opened the door to the parlor and walked in on Alex and Samantha in the parlor, there were sitting so close to each other. Immediately Samantha saw Jackson, she stood up and walked away while Alex just weirdly smiled

"Helllooo..."Jackson kept mute

"Thought you'd be home a lil later" Alex blurted

"Yeah, plans changed" Jackson said

"But aren't you happy I'm here...I mean...the thingy" Jackson deliberately stuttered and Alex just stared at him

"Ok... okayyy..., Hello Sam" He turned to Samantha

"Hi, Jack" she answered

"Got some work today too" Jackson made a fake yawn.

"Work?...hmm... yeahh" she stuttered shyly

"Come on bro, let's go to the...hmm... to"

"Let's hug" Jackson helped him and this time the three of them laughed out loud because what he said was totally off.

"Have a good time" he walked to his room and left them in the parlor
