"Heyyy...are you fucking serious?" Nasir spoke into the phone as he stood up and took the direction to his room

He giggled at what Hammad said

"You got a new girlfriend bro" Nasir laughed and indicated the new car as Hammad's girlfriend

Chapter Thirty Eight
Third Person's POV
Salma was sitting at home with nothing to do, it has become a normal routine for her, just wake up with almost no chore to do, watch movies, visit every lacunae of social media platforms.

"I'm so tired of how I'm left all alone from morning till evening" she murmured to herself

Maryam started hanging out with her mum after their graduation, fashion was at its peak between them, surprisingly, Mrs Fatimah and Mrs Ruqayyah started getting along really fast, Nasir was surprised at how his mum frowns at his friendship with Salma and she's now a close friend to Salma's mum, Mrs Ruqayyah.

"I so much miss school to be honest" she continued talking to herself

After a few minutes of walking around the house, she finally settled in her room which had an oud smell as usual. She plugged in her earpiece and a phone call immediately came through

"Hello, good afternoon aunt" she greeted

"I'm fine, Alhamdulillah"

"How has staying at home being?" Zainab asked her

"It's so boring, I'm always all alone"

"Isn't Umm Kulthum..."

"Nahh, Umm Kulthum got herself enrolled in one... program or something along those lines, can't remember" she answered her aunt's question before she even asked

"Well, take care of yourself dear, you have time to spend with you" Zainab

"Yeahhh, that's kinda true" Salma agreed

"Anything strange?" Zainab asked her

"Yes, I was deliberating to tell you...can you believe mum is now acting really cool with me, I'm so surprised at how she behaves towards to me to be honest" Salma said in one breath

"She has finally realised her mistakes maybe" Zainab tried to convince her but Salma still find it uncomfortable to settle with her aunt's words. She nodded her head as if Zainab was right there, looking at her.

Their conversation lasted for some minutes before it was ended with random jokes

"Babe..." Samantha looked at Alex teasingly

"No... you look so hot...damn!" Alex lightly banged his hand on the table

"Hahaha" she lightly laughed and looked at her feet, which she found amusing at that moment

"Can you say something that will make me forget about you for a sec?" Alex calmly said

"Hmm, lion?" She tried

"Ohh, come onnn" he stood up and went to where she sat, held her from the shoulders and made her stand on her feet.

"Look at me then" Alex requested

She raised her eyes and stared at him but she immediately looked far beyond him, she couldn't keep the stare.

"I don't think I can do anything when you are around"

Samantha chuckled, wrapped her hands around his neck and looked at his lips

"Hmm, just one time and I'm leaving" she pouted

"Okayy...okay"

"Hey bro" Jackson walked in on them

"Oh shit!" He hissed when he saw their position

"Eehhiim!" Alex cleared his throat while Samantha was about leaving his office

"I'm really sorry...so sorry" he walked backwards towards the door but Alex and Samantha both interrupted him saying he shouldn't leave

"You actually didn't interrupt anything Jack" Samantha smiled at him and jammed the door

"Nothing to interrupt" Alex went to his chair and sat

"So...?" He asked while slowly rotating on his office chair

"Hmm, listen... I'm really sorry"

"It's okay bro" he tried to lighten the atmosphere

"Okay... there's a..." He started explaining what brought him as he was one of the employees for the meantime, more like an intern. Alex came up with the idea of him working and earning before he gains admission into any of the schools he applied for.

"Ohh, alright... just make sure that..." Alex quickly explained what he was meant to do in the situation

"You are becoming a good employee..."

"Hahahaha... funny you... I'm an intern" he sarcastically laughed

"Difference?" Alex asked

"I have to meet Hammad and Nasir today so I'll be leaving a lil early" totally ignoring his friend's question

"Ohh, okay that's alright, my regards to them"

Jackson left his brother's office and took the elevator's direction but decided to spend some time with Samantha.

He lightly knocked on her door which was just a few feet from his brother's office on the last floor of the building.

"Come in please..." Her tiny voice came through

"Come in please..." He mimicked her

"Jack the Jack" she smiled

"Is that coffee?"

"Yeahhh... that's coffee"

"For me?"

"Nahhh...for my half"

"That's oppression"

They both started laughing

He chatted over coffee with her for a few seconds and stood up to leave

"Who drinks coffee in the afternoon?"

"We do!" He raised his hand and made a peace sign while making reference to himself and Alex.

He walked quietly to the elevator and quickly sent a message to their group chat asking if they've made up their mind on where they'd meet.

"Morons!" Jackson murmured when both of them suggested their homes

In less than 30 minutes, Jackson got to Hammad's home as they all agreed to meet at Hammad's house.

"Good day doctor" Nasir slightly bowed when he say Hamid

"Haha...Nas" he chuckled and shook hands with both of them

"Jackson, hope Alex is doing good" Hamid asked him

"Alex is doing just perfect, based on what I know though" he raised both of his hands

"Silly!" Hamid smiled

"Good afternoon madam" Jackson greeted Hamid's mum

"How are you my son?" She smiled at him

"I'm fine, thank you"

"As-salamu Alaikum madam" Nasir made his salam and exchanged pleasantries

"Wait Hammad, where's Arian and Arianna?" Nasir asked when he noticed how quiet the house was.

"Ohh, Arian and Arianna were taken to a boarding school"

"Really?"

"Why?" Nasir asked

"They both wanted it" Hammer said

"I'd never take my kids to a boarding school, never!" Nasir's mood immediately turned bitter after he said that

Flashes of what he went through in boarding school came to his memory and it felt as if it all happened to him just yesterday.

"You all guess what?" Hammad changed their topic of discussion as they chatted over tea and coffee in Hammad's room

"Hamid is going to get marrieddd" Jackson randomly guessed

"Ohh...thank you for killing the vibe!" Hammad rolled

"He's righttt" Nasir laughed and fell back, amused

"Whatever!" Hammad picked a cookie and munched on it

"Is she also a medical doctor?" Jackson asked

"Yeahh, she's his junior" Hammad said

"That's so cute!" Salma's tiny voice blasted from Nasir's phone because she was having a video call with them

"That's so cuttee" Nasir mimicked her

"So... what's her name?" Salma asked

"I won't tell you anything again, till the introduction is done" Hammad concluded

"Ohh, that's okay" Nasir nodded his head

They chatted for so long and Jackson told them he was leaving the control to study an engineering course, his friends were all happy, Nasir asked him why he didn't tell them earlier.

"Noo...I wasn't about gaining admission ao..." Jackson explained

"That's really cool dude, anyway" Nasir said

Nasir also told them of his plans to attend one of the best medical colleges around.

"I don't even know what I'll go into?" Hammad slightly laughed

"I know you are kidding"

"I equally don't know what I'd go into" Salma answered before they'd even ask her anything

"Ohh..." They all kept mute

"So... about your poetry Nasir, got any new read for us?" Jackson asked.

Jackson always makes sure he tries in every way he could to support what his friends were into.

"I've got a huge romantic poem and the last is... it's pretty obvious the whole world falls for gravity and I fell for YOU!" Nasir laughed when he read out the line

"Woah! Bro...woah!" Jackson hyped him

"Listen... who's she?" Salma asked while laughing

"Hahahaha, that's a smooth line bro, looking forward to the entire piece" Hammad said

They all departed after the lil gathering, Jackson dropped off Nasir at his house because Nasir didn't want to disturb Baba Liman whose health wasn't that good at the moment.

Nasir walked into the house, without saying anything, he took the stairs to his room but decided to get some water so he passed through his mother's room which was on the way to the kitchen

"Let me say hi" he thought

He was about to knock when he heard her speaking on the phone

"Well...He has been complying with my conditions... afraid about that" her voice went far away and he decided not to eavesdrop as he concluded it wasn't proper.

"Who's she talking to and what exactly is she talking about?" He wondered and his mind thought of her new relationship with Salma's mum thinking it was kinda weird but he concluded it was good since kinda liked Salma so....

In Salma's house, Mr Ahmad, her dad couldn't conclude on the school she'd attend so he called both of them to ask them their various institutions.

"Hmm, hope you are doing well my daughters" he smiled at the two of them and they all smiled back

"So...Salma, I know that your results is an exceptional one and you've gotten two admission letters from two different Colleges of Medical Sciences..." She nodded her head and looked at him

"... well, I'm really sorry dear, I've made inquiries and I don't think I can keep up with their tuition fee and expenses" Mr Ahmad looked down as if it was an abomination that those were leaving his mouth.

"Ok dad, that's alright dad... I know what you can do and what you can't, I grew up with you dad" Mr Ahmad was surprised at how easy she accepted leaving her dream not because of anything but lack of finances.

"Maryam..."

"No... it's okay dear, handle Salma's and I'd handle Maryam's" Ruqayyah chipped in, both father and daughter were surprised at what she said, but they just exchanged looks and didn't say anything.

"My business is going good and I think I can help you with Maryam's expenses, I understand how difficult things might be for you now" she buttressed and that made their confusion increase but neither of them said anything.

"Thank you Ruqayyah" Mr Ahmad quietly said but his voice was laced with doubts, doubts that she might eventually be up to something, doing this for her next evil thing, he mentally laughed at how he used evil.

Salma was equally surprised but she didn't say anything.

"They are both our daughters, anyway..." She rounded up the conversation and left the parlor to her room.

Mr Ahmad's face had surprised merged to it, his mouth just hung open but after few minutes of brainstorming, he raised his hands and thanked his creator that he was alive to witness such a day. Salma didn't really do anything, she was still finding it difficult to accept that her mother who has been a different for 6 years is now planning to change?

"Nahhh, I'm not accepting that, this woman became who she is today after I gained admission into high school, after graduating now she's worried about my education?" She said in one breath

"I'm sorry dad, but I'm not on that level anymore, she has made go through hell, will she make come back through hell when I gain admission into any college of medical sciences?" She asked her dad but he kept quiet and didn't say anything

"Be optimistic" his voice was surely not requesting her to be, it was more like an order
