Chapter Eighteen
#FewWords
You get to decide where your time goes. You can either spend it moving forward, or you can spend it putting out fires. You decide. And if you don't decide, others will decide for you. Observing and commenting, it is a piece of cake. Experiencing and sharing, that is a piece of work.
Recap
"Thank you, you are truly the son of the Smiths, the reputation of the company..."
"You only care about your business, not me, right?" A voice questioned
Mr Muhammad and Alex were startled, they both turned back and an angry Nasir was standing by the entrance to the tent.
"...his only son, I'm alive but it's as if I'm dead" Nasir completed his sentence with his father breathing out and Alex smiled
"Are you a poet?" Alex asked

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
"Yeah, I write" Nasir answered Alex's question
"That's amazing bro" Alex said
Mr Muhammad raised his head when he heard Alex calling Nasir bro. Nasir was a bit perplexed but he didn't say anything, he just smiled.
"Nasir, you should understand that it's not the reputation of the business, it's..." Mr Muhammad was trying to make clarification's but Nasir interrupted
"What do you want to say?" He raised his voice
"Listen to me young man!" Mr Muhammad shouted at the top of his voice making Alex jump a little.
He lost his temper and stood up, he kept quiet and turned to the opposite direction for almost a minute, Nasir and Alex basically stood almost lifeless.
"Nasir, I am your father and if you think I don't care about you then think whatever you want but I need to see you at home when I'm back from work, we'll talk then" immediately he said that he walked out.
Nasir wasn't given the chance to object, he just kept mute.
Alex just smiled and left the place.
30 minutes later, Jackson and Nasir got ready and left for school.
Hammad used a taxi and they all met outside the school.
"Heyy Potato" Jackson shouted and raised his hand towards Hammad
Everyone in the parking lot laughed, Jackson secretly looked at Nasir to see if he laughed.
"Bbooommm" Hammad shouted near Jackson's ear making him scream.
"Calm down baby girl" Nasir burst out laughing.
They all laughed and went in.
"Heyyy Salma" Hammad called out to Salma
"Hi, good morning guys" she greeted them.
They all exchanged pleasantries and were all walking to the assembly ground when Jackson said
"We are taking you home, hope you know that?"
"You talked to her Aunt, right?" Hammad asked Nasir
"You too, Hammad?" Salma laughed while closing her mouth with her sleeve
"Of course" he lightly laughed
"Yeah, I talked to her" Nasir answered
The morning prayers were all done, after the usual talk and talk of the principal, the coach was given an opportunity to address the students specifically the football players representing the school.
He encouraged them to work as a team and forget about everything on the field.
"You need to put everything aside when you are on the field, you need to be like a warrior with a deadly thirst for blood on the battle field ready to avenge his king's murder, am I clear?" He bellowed
"Yes sir!" The players replied with the same energy
"The final year students, this applies to you all too, study like your survival depends on it"
In a few minutes, he left the place after telling the players to meet him by 12pm.
The students all marched to their classes.
No teacher entered either of the final Classes.
Some of the students were in the laboratories either studying or just there to ask questions. Most of the students were in the IT lab and Library.
Salma was in the IT lab, she was instructed to monitor a few student's actions by the IT instructor while Nasir and his friends were in class chatting.
"I'd have loved if the exam was a week after the match" Nasir said while looking at his laptop's screen, a few students turned their heads to look at him immediately the words left his mouth.
"You are just a student at the back of the classroom playing games and saying whatever you want" Hammad chuckled
"Well, think of it, we students don't really get ready for an exam, we just want to continue studying, anytime the exam comes, we write but we never admit being ready" he spoke as if he was a philosopher flying his hands around.
A few students around nodded their heads when they heard what he said.
"I like how the date is, two weeks after the match at least we'll spend sometime to ourselves" Jackson spoke for the first time in about 20 minutes.
"Yeahhhhh, yeah, u are right" Nasir agreed with him, his eyes were still glued to the screen of his laptop.
"Get the hell out of here, who do you think you are to threaten me?" A voice shouted, the classroom became very quiet and all the students attention was in th direction the voice came from.
It was Jax, Brenda and a few other students who were in a circle, Jax was the one that shouted, they all were on their feet when he shouted.
"You! listen to me" Brenda gnashed his teeth and allowed a suppressed anger to fill in the air
They were arguing about simething that maybe happened to them, they must have probably done something and were caught or ended up in a mess.
"It wasn't anyone's fault, alright?" Brenda slowly whispered.
Jax kept mute and sat down in agreement to what Brenda said.
The students started murmuring while some left the class.
"The time is so fast today" Jackson said as they walked to where they are supposed to meet the coach.
The coach explained a few things to them, mostly motivational talks.
"Today is Friday, tomorrow we are taking an evening flight to the host school's country, this game is a very important one, I need you all to work hard for it, if we don't manage to win this, the school's football reputation is at stake" the coach calmly spoke and the students
"Are only the players going? I mean..."
"No, the school's senior prefect is also going and a few other perfects too" the coach answered a junior player
"Oh wow!" Jackson exclaimed
"That's really good" another player said
The players showed happiness about what the coach told them.
"Eehheemm" the coach coughed coughed "silence!" Cough and they all kept quiet.
"I'll go to the classes and get the attention of students that'd go, you should start putting your luggage in place" he picked a bottle of water and gulped down
"The game is on Wednesday but we are living on Saturday because there's a program on Monday, the program was organised for the players and their schools' senior prefect, the senior perfects of different schools are meant to talk about their schools and why it should be tagged as a best School attending the program and the Match" he explained to them because he noticed few players not getting the reason behind other students going with them.
"Aren't we supposed to have replacements just in case something happens?" A player asked the coach
Hammad chuckled and said
"how can we go for a Match without replacements?"
"We have replacements..." He added
The coach called all the students who were supposed to go with them and explained everything to them.
"Salma Ahmad, you are the senior prefect and you are the representative of the school in the program before the match, it's on Monday" he said to her while stretching out a spiral binded documents of about 10 pages
"Sir, this is much and there's no much time, it's just two days..."
"Yeah, this was chipped in late yesterday, we trust you Salma, you can't number how many awards this school has gained because of you" he cut her mid sentence and turned to the other side
"Can you count them?" He turned towards her and asked
"Of course I can, even if I missed any, it'd be the small ones" Salma said as a smile dazzled on her face showcasing her dimples.
"Blah blah blah" Hauwa who was sitting with them said because she has being making funny faces since the coach started talking about Salma being the school's representative.
"What's that supposed to mean?" The coach asked, he is a no nonsense man and his mood immediately changed
Hauwa didn't say anything, she just kept quiet, opened the pack of a gum and nonchalantly threw it in her mouth.
"Are you insane? Mannerless girl, I never actually wanted you to go with us, the principal insisted and I am now exempting you from the students going" he picked him pen and canceled out her name on the list.
"Salma, erase her name and print it out in the computer lab please" he handed his laptop to Salma who collected it and left
Hauwa walked to the door and hissed, the coach didn't hear her hiss. After seeing what happened to Hauwa, the other students kept quiet and behaved themselves.
"You all behave yourselves when we get there" The coach said and he immediately was leaving when his phone rang, he picked it up and started talking. He exchanged pleasantries with the caller
"... Darby's name should be removed?"he asked through the phone
"...ok ma'am, thank you"he hung up and turned to them, they were all leaving already
"Heyy, Darby Baker..."he called out
"Come"he demonstrated with his hand.
"Your mum said you aren't allowed to go on the trip" immediately he said that, he turned and left her standing.
Her face expression became sour immediately she heard him
"What's wrong Babe?" Amelia asked her
"Well, my mum again, what will happen that won't be related to her?" She scoffed
"Well, your mum is surely very strict, woah!"Amelia said as they took the school's cafe direction.
"I'm so tired of her, can't wait to leave this country for uni and have some peace once in my life" she commented
"I feel like crying to be sincere, you are not going and Hauwa is also not going, how will I have fun?" Amelia said as she sipped from her bottle of a carbonated drink
Darby didn't even answer her, Hauwa joined them at the table they sat, she dropped her bag on the fourth and last chair for the table.
"You guys go and have fun and come tell me about it" Hauwa laughed as if she didn't want to go with them but deep down she was hurt she wouldn't get to go with them, she didn't try to do anything because she knows the coach won't bend, anytime he says anything then it's like that.
"Darby's mum..."
"... didn't allow her to go" Hauwa cut in and completed Amelia's sentence as she laughed out loud, all the students in the cafeteria turned to look at her.
"It's not funny" Darby rolled her eyes.
"Excuse me" Amelia said as she picked a phone call
After five minutes, Amelia came back
"Who was that?"Hauwa asked
"That was Jane, she wanted to know what I'd need in my closet and if I needed anything she's going to her designer's place" she said
"You've got one of a hell sweet sister, I wish Daniel was like that" Darby said
"Well, Daniel is a sweet guy, just that he's more like my mum and very strict too" Darby added
Hauwa didn't say anything, she just kept mute staring at her phone
"We are together and you are chatting?" Amelia asked
"I'm doing something important" Hauwa said without raising her head from the phone's screen
"I just wonder what your mum will do if she finds out you are dating" Amelia put the stray in her mouth, she sipped without picking the bottle from the table.
"She'll kill Darby" Hauwa laughed in a mocking tone
"What if she finds out we always go out in the night with our boyfriends" Hauwa made a fake gasp
"Is this funny to you?" Darby asked them when she realized Hauwa was taking it too far.
"Hauwa Azeez, You are a lucky one, your mum understands these things, Amelia's sister covers up for her sometimes and her mum trusts her but me?...OMG" Darby said while searching her bag for a lip balm
"Listen babes, I broke up with him" Hauwa smiled
"With Jax?" Darby gasped
"OMG, are you okay?" Amelia asked her
"There's plenty fish in water" Hauwa smiled
"He was tryna act smart with me, he's a player and I beat him at his game, well, I'm a player so..." Hauwa relaxed on the chair
"... it's like I've dated everyone in this school, apart from the trio" she winked at them
"It's just two weeks, I pray my relationship with Brenda lasts" Darby put her hands together as if she was praying.
"Excuse me" a junior student interrupted their discussion
"What?" Hauwa looked at him
"All these rats always interrupt important discussions, what do you need..."
"Senior Darby, your mum's in school, she sent me to call you" he quietly said
"What? My mum?" She gasped and immediately stood up from her seat.
