第四十八章 (Chapter Forty-Eight)
I tear through every scroll and book I can find about immortality and ancient weaponry. So far nothing. I've been here for hours and still nothing. Every book says there is no such thing a the Black Chang sword. There are little books about immortality. I slam another book down. I know, I know, I shouldn't make a mess, but his safety is draining.
"Lan Wangi, you seem stressed." Brother came in.
"I'm fine." I turn.
"Even a blind man can see your stressed." He sits down.
"How are we going to find the sword if there's nothing about it?" I ask.
"Why are you so concerned with the sword?" He asks.
I turn I let out a breath. How can I not be? Future Wei Ying can be... persuasive. He's in danger. I have to protect him. Wei Ying runs in. He does a quick bow. I grab him before he falls down.
"Thanks." He pants.
"What is it?" Brother asks.
"I found something." He says.
He holds out a piece of a scroll. He puts it on the table. I examine it.
"The Black Chang sword was forged a thousand years ago. A human boy made it so you can conquer death itself. It is a weapon of immortality. The boy wanted to live for an eternity. It could only be used for evil, so the Gods burned him in the fire of ten thousand souls. For thousands of years, they hid the sword. But someone stole it and hid it in a boy." I read.
I look for another sentence or a paragraph. Then I see it ripped.
"Well at least we have something." Wei Ying says and smiles.
