I keep walking through the forest. I don't know what I'm after. I often don't know. I don't know anything half the time. I lay on the back of Apple. He carries me throughout the woods. Such a calm peaceful day. Yet, I know something is going to happen. Something always happens.  

Then Apple jerks. I fall off abruptly. I get a mouthful of dirt and ash. What the? I get up. I see smoke rising from an area. I see fire blazing. I smell an awful smell. Rotting corpses. It almost makes me hurl. I stand up. I brush myself off. 

I look at where the smoke is heading. Yup, I'm definitely going there. Don't know why, but I have to. I tie Apple Down. I can't risk him getting into this. He might be stupid, but he's, my donkey. I walk to the burning area.

"Whoa." was the only thing I could think of saying. 

A village burning. The houses were as gray as coal. The air smells thick like smoke mixed with blood. I quench my nostrils. I put an arm over my nose. Yeah, this place looks like shit. I look around. I really hope everyone's gone. 

Nope, I'm so wrong. I see bodies. I see corpses. I see them hung up by the neck. Oh gross. I take in a breath. What the heck happened here?? The bodies look different. Their skin is really gray. Wrinklie. They had bones showing within the skin. They drip blood but it's black. I then see something on the wall. A tailsman written in human blood. Reversed.

I scratch my nose. How is this possible? Who could've done this?

"Why are you here?" A familiar voice says behind me.

I jump and turn.

"Lan Zhan." I say.
