Your eyes ease open to his face. He was leaning on the bed, eyes closed, breathing lightly. You blink in awe, carefully reaching over and touching his cheek. Kid hums, easing his eyes open and meeting your gaze. "Are you okay?" You murmur. He blinks and straightens pulling away.

"Im fine..." He grunts, rubbing his face. You frown, feeling disappointed, you didn't want him to pull away so soon. Your body moves on it's own, arms wrapping around his neck. "H-Hey.." He tries to pull away but only succeeds in pulling you off the bed. You huff as you fall onto him.

"See, you try to run and I'm just going to follow." You murmur, lifting your head to look down at his face. His eyes were wide, blushing heavily as he looks up at you. You smile down at him thoughtfully. "There's my red teddy bear." You whisper, fingers going through his hair. He blinks and looks away with a huff.

"The hell are you saying? Red teddy bear..." He grumbles. Your smile falls slightly, but you lean down and press a kiss to his cheek. He freezes and you stand up, stretching slightly.

"Alright, I'm going to shower, see you at training." You hum before going toward the bathroom. He watches after you and carefully touches his cheek.

You stretch slightly and peer at todays opponent. Sabo smiles at you, adjusting his gloves. "Come at me ___." He rumbles. You glance at Law as he smirks, holding up a clawed glove.

"Alright, lets go." You smile, fixing your stance, a clawed glove materializing on your right hand. With that, you and Law charge Sabo. He sends up a fire wall, making you both separate and roll out of the way. Your foot catches the ground as you lock on Sabo again, kicking off with your attack arm ready. You lunge but he smoothly dodges you while tossing Law whom had leaped at him at the same time.

You roll into your fall, swiftly turning to face Sabo. Law had already recovered, lunging at Sabo again. His attack must've surprised Sabo because the blond lashed out with his pipe, hitting Law in the stomach and knocking him across the ground. Sabo hestitates in surprise at his own instinct before pulling hus arm back to send a fire attack at Law.

'He hasn't recovered!' Your eyes widen. "Law!" You gasp out, reaching out with your hand. You feel a heated tingle in your left palm before black chains burst from it, wrapping themselves around Sabo's arm. Everyone freezes in surprise. "... Huh...?"

"Kid! Why you intefering huh?!" Luffy bursts.

"Wha- I didn't do that kid..." The red head growls in response. His amber eyes slide over to Shanks. "What's going on here old man?" He questions. You look to Shanks too who was just as surprised.

"I... I need to check the archives. That's enough for today." He informs. You frown, watching him go as the chains disappear.

"But we just got started..." You murmur, looking at your palm.

"That was weird, what did you do?" Kid touches your palm.

"I... Just didn't want Law to get hurt." You tilt your head. You and him look over to the fox at that, finding his ears flattened as he watches you two. "Are you okay Law?" You ask.

"... Yeah... Thanks..." He murmurs before brushing past. You blink, looking after him, feeling your heart sink.

"... Did I do something bad?" You ask quietly looking around.

"You didn't..." Mihawk breathes, placing a hand on your shoulder. "It's just... Sometimes, the first partner isnt always the strongest bond." He murmurs before going after Shanks.

"The strongest bond..." You echo, looking at Kid. He meets your gaze, seeming uncertain and surprised.

"... Come on, if we're not training then... Lets go somewhere." He says turning away.

"But..." You look toward the temple where Law had disappeared.

"If you go now it might make it worse." Kid's light warning makes you look at his back. "Come on." He repeats before heading off. You follow him to the front of the temple where his shadowy motorcycle materializes. He gets on before looking at you promptly. You hesitate, looking back at the temple briefly before getting on behind him and holding onto him. He zooms off and you watch everything blur.

"Kid... Where are we going?" You ask him, moving your chin to his shoulder.

"A place I need you to see." He murmurs looking ahead with a small frown. You rest your cheek on his shoulder, watching his face quietly. His amber gaze slides to yours and he turns his head to you. "You're distracting." He informs. You pause and blush lightly hiding your face.

"Sorry." You hum in slight embarrassment. He huffs lightly before looking ahead again. After a bit longer the bike comes to a stop and you straighten to look around the overlook. Your eyes rest on the town and you get off the bike in awe, moving to the railing and resting your hands on it as you look over everything. "Wow. You can see everything from here." You murmur.

"I think I was going to do something important here. Because every time I come here. I feel a pain here." He breathes and you look to him as he touches his chest. "Before I saw you in the dark I kept coming up here and every time it felt like I was caught in a dark whirlwind." A dark aura starts to swirl around him. You straighten up in worry, half expecting him to turn on you as his face scrunches up with a rage you didn't understand.

"Kid?" You speak up, hoping he'd get a hold of himself.

"I feel so cheated. I know I had so much to look forward to. So many things I wanted to do..." He growls tears coming to his eyes. Your eyes widen and you swiftly move to wipe his tears away. He meets your gaze, gritting his teeth. "And every time I look at you it hurts even more..." He whispers shakily. You start to feel a pain in your chest now.

"Kid... I've felt the same way since I lost you. You were never alone in this pain." You sniff cupping his face. His eyes widen slightly at that. "I wanted so much to touch you and just be with you. But... You were taken away before..." Tears rise to your eyes and you grit your teeth shakily. A dark ribbon drifts up around you.

"No." He grabs your hands, holding them between his. "Don't... Dont sink with me." He murmurs looking pained. The tears escape your eyes and you touch your forehead to his fingers.

"But you were my light. My world has been so dark without you." You tell him. "And finding you again in so much pain... Why is fate so cruel..." You cry shaking. "I just wanted to love you." You could feel more darkness rising up around you and you felt as if your chest was becoming empty.

"Hey. Get ahold of yourself ___. Something... Something is wrong." He pulls you into his chest quickly, rubbing your back. He wasn't wrong, something was happening to you. But a part of you just wanted to be consumed in this negative energy. "___. Look at me." He breathes, cupping your cheek and making you look at him. He was worried for once, searching your face unsure what to do or say.

"Nothing you say will help." Another voice speaks up, making Kid look over at the large spirit wrapping in a dark shroud, a scarf hiding half of his face.

"Who are you?" Kid growls, moving you behind him.

"Im the one who's about to take that Hikari from you." The spirit points at you.

'What's happening? I feel so weak... So numb.... But it's not like how it was before.' You shift slightly, looking at the large spirit.

"Like hell I'll let you do that!" Kid snarls, dark chains bursting up from the ground around him. You blink in surprise as he lunges for the spirit. The spirit easily dodges and some of Kid's attacks phase right through him. He simply smacks Kid back. The redhead retrieves his footing, skidding to a stop. He tries again and again, but the same results each time.

"Kid. Stop... He's too strong." You move to stop him.

"If that's what you feel then runaway! I'll hold him back." He orders, shooting a chain at the spirit. The spirit catches the chain, slinging Kid around and off of the look out. You blink back from your daze, running to the railing.

"Kid!" You call out worriedly. You're picked up then and you try to free yourself form the spirit's grasp.

"Fighting is useless. You'll only hurt yourself." He states before walking under a shadow and suddenly you're in the spirit world. You freeze in shock, looking around in alarm.

"Did... Did you just kill me?"
