The car ride back to Seoul was silent as they had an exhausting day filled with unexpected incidents. Hyeji was on the passenger seat while Changbin drove the car. Chan decided to take the back seat after arguing with Hyeji to let her sit at the front.

Chan leaned his head onto the window as a sigh escaped his lips. It was too much. The case is too much. To the point of losing a friend. He was scared. What would the case lead to? What if others are in danger too?

Others? That was when it clicked to him.

Please Chan, do something. I don't want to lose a friend.

He sat upright. "Bin, what day is it?"

"It's Thursday, 20th" Changbin replied

"What?!"

"Yes, it's past midnight"

Chan cursed under his breath. "We should hurry!"

"Why suddenly? What happened Chan?"

"It's the assumed date Bin!"

"Shit!" Changbin accelerated the vehicle. "I totally forgot!"

"Don't speed right now Changbin! I don't think he'd be active at a time like this" Hyeji too, joined.

"I'll call Felix first" Chan said, grabbing his phone from his pocket.

"He might be asleep Chan" Changbin complained.

"We can't risk another life" Chan mumbled, as his phone ringed before the call ended. His multiple tries weren't successful. "Shit!"

"Let's call the Police" Hyeji instructed as she too took her phone.

"We should've not been late" Chan said, as he rubbed his face with his palms.

"Don't worry Chan, we'll make it on time"

Felix sat up on his bed, reaching for the alarm on the bedside drawer. He yawned as he stretched, grabbing his phone from under his pillow. The blonde frowned his eyes as he saw 6 missed calls from his older friend, Chan. As he tried to respond to him again, he was interrupted by another incoming call.

"Seungmin?" He mumbled, picking up the call. "Good morning!"

"Hey Lix!"

"Why this early?"

"I won't be coming to school today"

"Why?"

"I-uh, I'm at grandma's so, yeah"

"Aww, I'm gonna miss you" Felix pouted, dramatically.

"I swear to God I can see you pouting from here Lix" Seungmin said, chuckling.

"Noo... You know me so well" Felix wiped an imaginary tear off.

"I know and get ready for school. You're gonna be late"

"I know I know. Goodbye then"

"Goodbye!"

Felix got out of the bed, putting his phone down as he made his way towards the bathroom. After coming out, he was picking an outfit for the day as another phone call interrupted his routine. He grabbed his phone, looking at the contact.

"Good morning Chan! I was just about to call you" Felix exclaimed, as soon as he picked up the call.

"Felix! Finally! Seungmin is in danger!" A rush in Chan's voice.

"Wait! Slow down"

"There's no time Lix. We're on our way to his house right now. Police will be there too. Just be safe"

"No wait Chan . He's off to his grandma's. I don't think he'll be there"

"Call him and tell him to come to yours"

"I-I'll try" Felix panicked. He quickly ended the call with Chan and tapped on Seungmin's contact.

"Come on! Come on! Pick up!" He mumbled as he walked around the room nervously. His hopes shattered as Seungmin didn't respond. "No, no, no!" He tried multiple times, only to find the call ending with a single voice message.

He grabbed his backpack as he got out of his apartment in hopes of heading to Chan's office. He saw no point of going to school while his friend was in the edge of danger. He decided to call Chan on his way. He was nervous. He didn't know what would happen to Seungmin. What if he went missing?

"Yes Lix?" Chan asked, as soon as he picked up.

"His number doesn't work Chan" Felix's voice broke.

"It's okay Lix, we'll take care of it. Where are you?"

"I'm on my way to your office"

"Why? I'm not there"

"It's okay"

"What about school?"

"I don't want to go there"

Chan sighed. "I don't think you'll like it in the office Lix, everyone's busy"

"Please Chan, I don't think I'll be able to focus on school. I'll just stay there. I don't want to be here"

"Okay then. I'll be there in a minute. Do you want me to pick you up?"

"No, it's okay, I'll come"

"Okay, be safe"

"I will"

Felix sighed as he ended the call. He was afraid. Afraid of what would happen to Seungmin, his best friend. Beside the others, Seungmin was the only close friend he had. He didn't want to lose him. But, Chan promised. He promised he will protect Seungmin. I don't have to worry about it that, right?
