"Take a seat" The doctor offered, once they got into the office. Changbin sat on a chair as the doctor too, sat on his chair opposite to Changbin's. "Are there any family members of his that I can talk to?"
"I think, no doc. His parents are passed and his siblings are in Australia"
"Whom does he live with?"
"He lives alone. If there's anything you need to say, you can tell me. I'm the closest to him"
"Okay then" Doctor sighed. "He has a.... lung cancer"
"What?!" Changbin almost yelled. A lung cancer?
"Yes, it's already on stage four. So it's critical. Even though he gets relevant treatments, he won't make it for much time"
"But how doc? He doesn't even smoke"
"He might have a family history of lung cancer. It's in his genes"
Changbin nodded. "How much time does he have doc?"
"Less than a month"
"Oh my god!"
"If he had seen a doctor sooner, there would've been a chance for him to survive. He might've been coughing blood too. Hasn't he told anyone?"
"He had been coughing. We tried to take him to a doctor but he refused. All of us were too busy too"
"This time shortness of breath might've caused him to faint. Those are all symptoms of lung cancer and they will get more worse eventually. It'll be become hard for him. I prefer him staying at a hospital"
Changbin ran his fingers through his hair stress fully. "Thank you doctor. Is it possible for us to leave today?" He asked, getting up.
"After he wake up, yes. Make sure to admit him into a nearby hospital and take care of him"
"Yes, doc"
"You can go admission unit and sign all the documents. Then you can leave"
"Okay, thank you again doc" Changbin said, before heading towards the room where Chan was.

"What did he say?" Hyeji asked, as soon as Changbin entered. He saw Chan sitting upright on the bed, smiling and waving at him. Changbin smiled weakly as he approached Chan and hugged him. "How do you feel?" He asked softly, as he sat on a stool beside the bed.
"Woah, what happened to you?" Chan joked as Changbin chuckled.
"I'm the same"
"Okay, I was just ignored" Hyeji joined, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"We don't care" Chan said, poking out his tongue before laughing. It still hurt him. The thought of not having to see Jisung again. Though he smiled.
"It seems you are feeling better aren't you?" Changbin said, getting back to the topic.
"Yeah, it isn't that bad. I just forgot to bring my inhaler"
"It is bad Chan" Changbin said, not wanting to hide the truth. There's no point of hiding, he doesn't have much time left.
"No, it's not" Chan argued.
Changbin looked down. "It is and you have..... lung cancer, Chan" He again turned his head up, revealing his tear filled eyes. "H-he said, you don't have much... time left"
"What?!" Hyeji stood up in a flash.
"Why didn't you tell us when you already had the symptoms? You refused to see a doctor too" Changbin's cheeks started to get damp from tears.
Chan wasn't surprised. Oh yes, he had already assumed that his condition was critical, atleast a week ago with all the blood he coughed out and all the times he couldn't breathe properly. He chuckled at Changbin, weakly. His pale face also replicated how critical the cancer was.
"It's not funny Chan" Changbin stated, his tone angry.
"I know, I know, I'm sorry" Chan opened his arms, embracing the younger into a hug.
"I'm so sorry Chan" Hyeji too expressed her remorse.
"No-no, it's okay. I already knew I wasn't well since a while"
"Oh my god Chan!" Changbin whined.
"Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I should've seen a doctor. I get it. But can we leave? We have to work on the case"
"Yes, we can. But the doctor said you have to admit to a hospital near Seoul"
"That's a no-no" Chan shook his head.
"You have to Chan. For treatments and to help you with the side effects"
"What?! You're telling me to get chemotherapy and lose all my hair? Or to spend the little remainder of my life in a boring hospital? Never! I prefer working on the case than that" Chan joked. It wasn't because he didn't care about his condition and how much time he had left. He was hurt. Emotionally and Physically. From Losing a friend to having a terminal illness. It was a lot for him. It hurt him even to think about that. He smiled to hide his pain so it won't affect the ones around him.
"This isn't funny Chan" Hyeji stated.
"I'm telling the truth"
"Okay, okay. Let's see about that when we get to Seoul. It's ready midnight. Do you want to stay the night?"
"No, absolutely no"
"Okay then. I'll go and sign the papers" Changbin left the room leaving Hyeji and Chan alone.
