Chapter 1:An Evil Childhood

Every villain's got a life tragedy or something, right? WRONG. Umbridge has no backstory. She has a Patronus yet works in the part of the ministry that tortures people. Does this mean Umbridge is happy when she sends people off to be tortured? This chapter will cover a made-up childhood and uncover secrets that could lead to this horrid discovery.

Umbridge sat on her couch reading the newspaper while stroking her tabby cat. The couch creaked as she shifted to a warmer position. The wood burning fire in the old fireplace roared, as she told her butler to keep throwing wood on it every 5 minutes, though he objected. Her parents were out, not because they were working, but because she kicked them out. They wanted to be kind to her, but she was pretty ignorant of their attempts to bond with her. She kicked them out because they didn't allow her to eat 12 pints of ice cream at 3 AM. She thought she was a natural genius. Of course, a couple minutes later, Umbridge ordered the butler to once again throw wood on the fire. The firewood was now piled high and, as the butler reluctantly opened the fireplace's wire shield, and sparks flew everywhere. One landed on the bright pink living room wallpaper (that 8 year old Umbridge had of course picked out) and set fire to the wall. The wallpaper burned into black, crumpled crisps exceedingly fast. The butler latched onto Umbridge's arm and pulled her through the hallway and out the front door. Once the door was slammed shut, the butler pulled Umbridge into her parent's car and they drove off. Mind you, Umbridge insisted that she drive. The butler knew he would get arrested but he was legally obliged to do what she said. He gulped, slammed the car door, and sat in the passenger seat. Umbridge had turned on the radio and switched it until she found the one she wanted. "Hello, and welcome to IHeartCat137 radio! Here we are experiencing a major magical cat plate sale! Over to Tim, who is currently at CatMart." a man on the radio said. The butler slammed his head against the dashboard and groaned. "Not this again..." he mumbled. Unlucky for him, Umbridge heard what he had said and pulled over very suddenly. There was a lot of honking involved. "WHAT. Did you say, dearie butler? I couldn't hear over THE RADIO I'M TRYING TO LISTEN TO!!" Umbridge tried to say sweetly. The butler hated it when she did that.
