Chapter One

"Hailey, you have to get over this guy. He was no good for you. Stop moping around and see things for what they are!" She was right you know. Brianna was almost always right when it came to my love life. "Seriously, Hail, he's a piece of crap. You deserve someone better. Someone who won't cheat on you with your cousin."

Ouch. Yeah, Will was the worst. He would always go behind my back and then beg for another chance. Every time I gave him another chance, he hurt me in the worst way possible. Whether that be hitting on Brianna, while she has a boyfriend, or sleeping with my cousin, Rachel.

"He did say he was drunk." I say, trying to defend him.

"That's his excuse all the time."

"Well, Rachel and I kinda look alike." That was a lie. We look nothing alike. People have thought that her and I were just friends instead of blood-related family.

"Will you stop trying to make excuses for him? William's a piece of shit and you know that."

"I know, I just don't want to believe it. I don't want to lose the happy memories that we made. He was a good friend, you know. Good person to talk to and lean on." I untuck my hair from behind my ear, trying to hide my face.

We had good memories, every couple does. I think back to when we first started talking. We couldn't leave each other alone. We would always stay up late and talk all night. Smiling and laughing about stupid things.

But then I think back to the bad times, all the fights and arguments. My heart starts to pound. I don't like these memories, though who does. Will would always shout at me. Sometimes for the simplest things, too. I normally would stay the night at Bri's house whenever we'd have a really bad fight.

"Hailey, I think you need to party." Here's some backstory on Brianna Mae Wilkins. She is the epitome of being "the mom friend". She will always take care of you no matter what. She'll give you the hard truth and not apologize for it. She looks out for me and worries about me.

But, she also knows when a girl needs to party or not. Don't worry, even though she likes to party, she's not the type to drink underage.

"Who would be hosting this party?" I ask, trying to stump her.

"Joe." Of course. Joe's always hosting parties. For those of you who don't know, Joe is Brianna's boyfriend. He's sweet and treats her right. They're the cutest couple though, always posting photos together.

They're not the annoying couple that won't stop posting pictures of each other. They space it out and show that they have lives outside of one another.

"Okay," I say, hesitantly. "Fine. I guess I'll go." Bri pulls me into a big hug.

"Better start getting ready!" She shouts.
