A Normal Day

It had been a few days since Y/N had quite an exciting day that started with him and A2 ending up in the forest inhabited by the machines who believed to be living in some sort of medieval kingdom which from there went to him and A2 ending up in a machine inhabited by the friendly machines and ended with him going to the Resistance Camp where he got a chance to encounter and interact with a few androids.

Nothing Y/N considered worth mentioning happened in those past few days. Those days were pretty regular or at least as regular as Y/N would consider them tobe in the terms of this world. Back in his old world, however, staying in the background while your traveling companion fought a group of machines would be considered anything but regular. Those few days mostly consisted of him and A2 minding their own business in the city ruins.

He sat up in his sleeping spot and stretched, letting out a yawn as he did so. The first thing he noticed upon opening his eyes were the wall of the clothing store he had gotten his cap from a few days. He and A2 decided to stay in the abandoned commercial facility for the night for the time of his sleep because according to A2 there weren't as many machines there as there were in the city ruins and it would be safer for him to sleep there.

He got up from his sleeping spot and looked around himself in an attempt to spot his traveling companion. He didn't have to look for long for her. He spotted A2 a second later. The android was standing outside the store. She didn't notice him get up, because she had her back turned to him. She had her hands on the railing as she leaned against it, watching the area below them from her position. His backpack and his metal baseball bat were next to her. She must have moved it there when he was sleep as he remembered putting them close to himself before going to sleep.

He walked over to her and stopped next to her, following her example and putting his hands onto the railing, "Good morning."

"You're finally awake." She said, "You slept so long today I was starting to think you weren't going to wake up."

"What can I say. I like to sleep when I don't have to get up in the morning, even if I sleep on the floor." Y/N smiled at her and looked at ther questioningly, "Anything happened when I was asleep?"

"Were you awoken by any noise of a fight?" A2 replied as she looked at him like she had been just asked the most obvious question she had ever heard.

Y/N shook his head, "No."

"Then you have your answer." A2 answered. She turned away from him for a second and unzipped his backpack before reaching into it, pulling out a water filled canteen out from it, "Thirsty? I made sure to refill it with water when you were asleep."

"Did you boiled it?" Y/N asked her the same question he was asking her whenever she was giving him her morning water, wanting to be sure if she remembered to do it.

"Of course I did. Why do you ask me this question everytime when I'm giving you a morning drink. Do you take me for an idiot?" A2 replied with a question of her own with an annoyed look on her face.

Y/N raised his hands in a defensive manner, "I just wanted to make sure. No harm in doing that, right?"

"So do you want something to drink or not?" A2 repeated her question from earlier.

"Yeah. Thanks." Y/N smiled at her, taking his water filled canteen from her. He opened it and took a sip from it, allowing himself to have a his morning portion of water. Or at least Y/N thought it was morning. It was always hard for him to tell what time of the day it was with the sun never moving from it's place. After taking a few sips from his canteen, he asked her, "Any plans for today?"

"The same as usual for the most part. We're going to start this day off with refilling our food supplies by killing a few animals." A2 replied as Y/N nodded in undestanding. Gathering food supplies for a few days was something A2 had come up with after they got trapped in the forest. She came up with it just in case if they will become trapped again and this time it won't be in a place where they will be able to find the food for him. "It shouldn't take us long as I spotted a few boars on the other side of the bridge when I was getting you some water."

"Alright." Y/N nodded in understanding, "When are we moving out?"

"Do you need to take care of something else before we'll head out?" A2 asked as Y/N shook his head. She nodded at him and pointed his backpack and his metal baseball bat, "Then, grab all of your stuff and make sure not to miss anything. We'll be moving out as soon as you'll be ready."

"Alright." Y/N nodded at her, looking away from her to look at his stuff, "I'll be ready in a minute."

Not wasting any time, he closed his canteen and placed it next to his backpack. He reached down to grab his backpack and unzipped it before reaching down to grab his canteen again. He placed it inside his backpack, making sure all of his stuff was inside it in the process and zipped it before slouching it over his shoulder. After making sure he had his backpack on his back, he reached down and grabbed his metal baseball bat.

"Okay." He shifted his gaze from his stuff back to A2 after making sure he had everything he needed. He nodded his head at her, letting her know he was ready to head out, "I'm ready."

"Do you have everything?" A2 wanted to be sure if Y/N was certain he didn't miss anything.

"Yes." Y/N nodded in confirmation.

A2 nodded back at him and moved away from him towards the the two inoperative escalators nearby, "Let's go."

"Alright. Right behind you." Y/N nodded as he followed her to the inoperative escalators.

A2 reached the inoperative escalators as Y/N started following her and made her way down the escalator on the right. She stopped on the ground level of the commercial facility a few seconds later and looked behind her, seeing Y/N had just started making his way down the same inoperative escalator. Her human ward reached her a few seconds later and nodded at her, letting her know he was ready to move into the city ruins without saying anything to her.

A2 turned away from him and started to make her way towards the exit from the commercial facility. Y/N followed her, walking closely behind her and looked over her shoulder, seeing the same unstable bridge he and she used yesterday to reach the commercial facility after he voiced he was tired to her. He didn't worry about crossing this bridge anymore as he already knew it was stable enough to hold him and A2 on it, despise it looking like it was seconds away from falling apart.

He looked away from the bridge for a second, wanting to take a quick look at the commercial facility before he will leave it with A2 and titled his head to the side to look towards where the blocked entrance to the forest was. He and A2 had not visited the forest again since the day they were trapped there, and had no plans to do so until they found a way to reopen the blocked entrance to it.

His eyes widened slightly as he saw something move in the bushes close to the closed elevator in the commercial facility. He knew it couldn't have been the wind, because there wasn't any wind today. He stopped in his tracks and narrowed his eyes at the bushes, wanting to make sure if he really saw the bushes move or if his eyes were just making a trick on him.

A2 stopped in her tracks a second later, having noticed he stopped walking for some reason, "What are you doing? Don't tell me you're afraid of crossing that bridge again."

"I think I saw something move over there." Y/N replied, his eyes not leaving the bushes as he pointed towards them with his baseball bat.

A2 took a few steps towards him to get closer to him and looked in the direction her human ward was pointing at. It was when the bushes moved again. This time it was followed by the loud metal footsteps. Her eyes widened a few seconds later, having realized what was about to happen as she readied her blade for the upcoming fight, "Shit!"

As soon as she voiced her thoughts upon realizing what was about to happen, a few taller machines jumped out of the bushes into her and Y/N's view and advanced towards her and her human ward, having the obvious killing intention towards them. An intention she knew she could have stopped from happening in only one way. This way being slashing all of them into pieces.

"What the hell?" Y/N exclaimed in suprise the moment the machines made themselves present to him and his android protector, taken aback by how quickly they happened to be attacked by a group of machines today, "They were waiting for us to leave our hideout for all this time or what?"

"Don't know! Don't care!" A2 replied as she immediately jumped into action, like she always did, "Just stay away from them!"

Stepping as far away from the fight as he could, Y/N allowed A2 to take care of the machines that ambushed them out of nowhere. Even though she was taken by suprise by the sudden ambush of the machines, it didn't took A2 long to take care of the problem she and her human war had just encountered. It was only a matter of less than a minute before all of the machines were gone.

Upon taking care of the last machine from the group, something else managed to catch Y/N and A2's attention. The head separated itself from the body of the last machine before the rest of the body exploded after it was forced to endure a few A2's precise slices to the point where it couldn't take it anymore. The head rolled away from where the rest of it's body used to stand and stopped a few seconds later.

The head cracked open, like an egg, and revealed to have been hiding something within it. It was a large spherical head with visibly teeth and grey eyes. Y/N narrowed his eyes at the head, wanting to get a better look at it it was had been the first time when he saw such a thing happen. Even A2 felt like he had to observe this head before how she should handle it as she just like Y/N had never seen anything like that before.

"...Huh. Hey. Where am I?" The head like object spoke up to them in a surprisingly friendly tone a few seconds later as A2 and Y/N were instantly brought out of their silent observation of it as soon as it spoke up to them, "Hey there guys! What's up?"

Y/N and A2 stared at the head like object in complete silence as neither of knew how to react to it and what to make of it. The fact it just spoke to them in a completely friendly tone wasn't making figuring out what it was any easier for them. Many thoughts were flying through Y/N's head as he continued to stare at it. What was this thing? Was it a machine? Or an android? Or something else? Or more importantly did it had any ill intentions towards him and A2?

"...What the fuck is that?" A2 broke the silence that formed between them as she and Y/N had no idea what to think of it. She kept her blade in ready, though, just in case if this head like object turned out not to have friendly intentions towards her and more importantly Y/N.

"I'm asking myself the same thing." Y/N agreed, having no idea what to think of this head himself as he stared at the head in front of him and his traveling companion with widened eyes and a completely weirded out look on his face. He and A2 exchanged confused glances with each other, hoping either of them will make sense out of what they were seeing right now.

A2 turned away from Y/N to look at the strange head like object again, having made her choice how to deal with it, "Why am I even asking you this question? The answer is quite obvious. It was hidden within the machine's head. I should just kill it before it will try to do anything to you."

"W-What?" The head like object stuttered out nervously upon hearing how A2 just voiced her desire to kill it. It was clearly horrified by the thought of A2 attacking it and killing it.

A2 stepped towards the head like object, paying no attention to it's terrified question as she got herself ready to swing her blade at it and end it's life once and for all, "Let's just get this over with."

"Nooooo...!" The head like object screamed in fear as it rolled itself away from Y/N and A2 in the blink of an eye, without giving either of them a chance to react to it fleeing from the scene in fear. Y/N and A2 wouldn't know which direction it went towards if it wasn't for the sound of the gate which trapped them in the forest a few days ago being destroyed.

A2 froze in her tracks after witnessing how the head just rolled itself out of her and Y/N's view in such a massive speed. She continued to glance ahead of herself for a few more moments as Y/N approached her from behind, his eyes glued to where the head used to be a few seconds earlier, just like hers. They turned away from where the head was laying a few seconds earlier and looked at each other, the two of them wondering what in the world just happened.

----

After encountering a strange talking head in the commercial facility, A2 and Y/N changed their plan and went into the forest through the now destroyed gate instead of the city ruins, like they had originally planned. They decided to go into the forest instead, despise the fact they had rather unpleasant memories from it, because A2 wanted to try catch some fishes in one of the creeks they saw in the forest the last time they were there.

At least they didn't had to worry about getting trapped in it again as the gate responsible for trapping them in it all those days ago in the first now had a massive hole in it, thanks to the strange talking head. The two of them looked around themselves upon entering the forest through the hole in the gate, trying to see if the talking head was close to them. It wasn't. It must have headed somewhere deeper into the forest to get away from them.

Not caring much about the head and the direction it just went to because it wasn't high on her list of priorities right now, A2 pushed herself into walk and started to walk towards the closest creek she could think of. She didn't had to think about figuring out where the closest creek to her and Y/N was, because she remembered passing it with Y/N during the day they got trapped in the forest.

She make sure to keep her eyes open for any possible machine attacks as she and Y/N proceeded to go further into the forest. Lady Luck seemed to smile down upon them right now for some reason, because she and her human ward didn't come across any machines from the forest ever since they entered it through the entrance in the commercial facility.

The fact she and Y/N didn't come across any of the machines wasn't going to make her lower her guard, though as she knew they could have ran out of the luck at any second and be ambushed by a group of the forest machines. She wouldn't worry much about the possibilty of it happening if she was alone in the forest right now as she would just jump at the machines and get rid of them in the matter of seconds, but she wasn't alone in the forest now and had to make sure no harm will come to her human ward.

She pushed herself out her thoughts about the possibility of the machines ambushing her and her human ward as she and Y/N passed the corner and saw the creek they were heading towards for all this time in the distance. She looked at Y/N and nodded at him, letting him know it was the place they were heading towards. Y/N nodded back at her in understanding as the two of them stepped towards the creek, reaching it a few seoonds later.

A2 stopped close to the edge of the creek and started preparing everything she needed for this small fishing session. At first, she pulled out the fishing rod she made out of things she found in the ruins of the city the day after she became Y/N's protector. It wasn't the best fishing rod and if she was honest with herself, she was certain it was going to fall apart after the first use, but thankfully it was doing it's job pretty well and this is what mattered to her.

As she started preparing everything for fishing session, Y/N walked past her and sat down on the edge of the creek. He put his baseball ball next to him and took of his backpack, placing it next to him as well. Staring at the creek in front of him and his traveling companion, he took off his shoes and socks and dipped his feet into the water, enjoying the coolness of it.

A2 titled her head to look at him and raised her brow at what Y/N was doing right now, "What the fuck are you doing?"

"What?" Y/N replied with a question of his own as he titled his head to the side to look at her, "It's relaxing. You should try it out."

Although she was slightly hesitant about it for several seconds, A2 reluctantly took off her heels and put them down next to Y/N's shoes. She sat down next to her human ward and dipped her feet into the water of the creek, letting the water from the creek touch her toes. Not exchanging more words with him, she picked up her fishing rod from her side and put the fishing line in the water.

Y/N grabbed his backpack and placed it on his knees as A2 focused her entire attention on the fishing line she had just put in the water, waiting for some fish to start nibbling at the bait. He unzipped it and took a look inside it, looking for two items he was planning to use now. Those items were his earbuds and his music device. Upon setting his eyes upon the two said items, he reached into his backpack and pulled them out.

After making sure he had the items he was looking for, he took his backpack off his knees and placed it aside. He didn't zip it again, like he normally would as he wanted to keep it open for the time he will use his music device and his earbuds. He connected his earbuds to his music device and turned his music device on, seeing the song he was going to listen in a few seconds.

He smiled and nodded his head, gladdened by the title he saw appear on his music device because it was Requiem der Morgenröte by Linked Horizon. He smiled not only because he liked the song, but also because he knew someone was using his music device when he was sleeping. He knew that someone was using his device for music because he remembered that the next song on the list was Tuyo by Rodrigo Amarante not Requiem der Morgenröte by Linked Horizon.

With his smile not leaving his face, he put one earbud in his right ear and held the second earbud out to A2, "Want to listen?"

"No." A2 instantly declined his offer, "How many times do I have to tell you that I'm not interesting in this music thing of yours before you will understand I'm not interested in it?"

"Really?" Y/N asked, not buying her answer, "Then why were you listening to it when I was sleeping for the past few days?"

"...What?" A2 asked him, his words taking her by suprise. He knew about her using his music device to listen to the music on it? Since when? How did he found out about it in the first place? She only used it when he was asleep and always made sure he was deep in his sleep before grabbing his music device, "What made you think I would use your music device?"

"You left it pretty obvious." Y/N stated, "I figured out someone was using behind my back when I turned it on and saw the next to be played to be different than the last time I used it before going to sleep."

A2 glanced to the side to hide the expression of mixture of irritation and embarrassment she had on her face right now, knowing nothing she would say now would convince him that she wasn't using his music device behind his back.

"This is nothing to be embarassed A2." Y/N smiled slightly with an amused look on his face after seeing the way A2 reacted to his explanation of he how figured out that she was using his music device when he was sleeping.

"I'm not embarassed." A2 instantly denied how she was feeling right now, refusing to give him the satisfaction after seeing the grin he had on his face right now and glanced back at him to show him that she wasn't embarassed.

"If you say so." Y/N let out a brief chuckle at her denial as A2 glared at him. He repeated his question from earlier right after, "With this matter settled, do you want to listen or not? I could explain to you where certain songs came from or tell you about the bands who made certain songs."

"Fine." A2 sighed, giving in because she knew there was no reason to hide her interest in it after he discovered it as she took the earbud from him and put it in her ear, "Don't you dare make any comment about it."

Y/N raised his brow, "What makes you think I would make any comments about it?"

"Do you really want me to answer this question?" A2 replied with a question of her own, once again looking at him like she had just asked her the most obvious question she had ever heard.

"Not really." Y/N replied as he clicked on his music device, making the song start playing through his and A2's ears.

A2 kept her eyes on the fishing line, making sure not to lose her focus on it as she slowly moved her head to the sound of the music, "Where did this song come from?"

"It's from an anime called Attack on Titan." Y/N started his explanation as A2 listened to him, "It was playing whenever you reached the end of the episode in the first half of season 3 and the ending showed a character named Historia..."

Y/N and A2 continued to listen to the music from Y/N's music device together for the next hour and Y/N made sure to explain everything he knew about a certain song whenever a new song started playing through his and A2's ears and after A2 displayed interest in learning more about it, occasionally pausing their conversation for a few seconds whenever A2 saw one of the fishes from the creek nibbling the bait.

The human explained various things about various songs to his android companion during the time they spent listening to the songs together, such as the history of Freddie Mercury and Queen when We Are The Champtions and We Will Rock You started playing through his erabuds, or explaining how Game of Thrones went from one of the most talked about TV shows of it'ss era to one of the biggest disappointments in television history when the said show's theme song echoed in his and A2's ears.

Y/N was in the middle of another explanation of the story of a song he and A2 were listening to right now as A2 saw the fishing line move as it was in the middle of the creek, meaning only one thing. A fight was nibbling at the bait at the right now. She tightened her grip around her fishing rod and quickly got herself back on her feet, making sure to take the earbud out of her ear before doing so as Y/N clicked his music device, pausing the song they were listening to right now.

She started battling the fish, doing her best make sure it won't free itself from the grasp of the fishing line. She already managed to catch three fishes over the time she and Y/N spent together at the creek, but this fact was not going to make her let it get away as she wanted to catch as many fishes as she could during this fishing trip to make sure she and Y/N will have enough food supplies for the latter when they'll be leaving the forest through the entrance in the commercial facility later today.

All of her fighting with the fish from the creek paid off in the end as she succeeded in catching it. She pulled the fishing line out of the creek, allowing herself and Y/N to take a good look at her prey. The fish wasn't the biggest, but it wasn't the smallest either, just like every other fish she had caught in the past hour. A2 nodded her head to herself, placing the fish aside where she had placed the other fishes.

She put the fishing line in the water again and sat back down on the ground again, feeling how the water started touching her toes again. She titled her head to Y/N and saw the look he was giving her, "What?"

"You gave it your all when you fought that fish." Y/N told her with a slightly amused look on his face, "Almost as if it was a machine."

"I didn't want it to get away." A2 explained, setting her eyes on the fishing line in the distance.

"Yeah. I know." Y/N nodded, "I just wish I could help you with this in some way."

"Do you how to fish?" A2 asked.

"Not really." Y/N replied, "I used to go fishing from time to time with my dad when I was younger as he tried to infect me with his interest in fishing. I don't think I remember anything from it as I was a kid when I was going with him. I started doing this less frequently as I got older, especially after I left for college after finishing high school two years ago."

"College?" A2 asked.

"Yeah." Y/N nodded in confirmation, "I studied to be a translator. Languages were always my forte in school as I barely ever had problem when it came to them. I just wish I was the same with math, though."

"Do you miss it?" A2 asked him another question, "The college?"

"I don't know. Didn't thought about it much since you found me." Y/N gave her an honest answer, "There's one thing I don't miss about it, though. I don't miss waking up in the morning."

"Yeah." A2 nodded her head at this information, "I can tell by how much you sleep sometimes."

"What's so weird about my sleeping schedule?" Y/N raised his brow at her, "That's as many hours as most people try to sleep. Just because I slept longer than usual today doesn't mean my sleeping schedule is messed up. You should have seen how I was sleeping when I was a teen whenever me and my friends were having nightly gaming sessions."

"Should I know the whole story behind it?" A2 asked.

"Not really. To put it shortly let's just say we followed the rule "Sleep is for the weak" whenever it happened." Y/N replied, letting out a chuckle. His smile faded away from his face a few seconds later as he lost himself in his thoughts about all the fun times he had in his friends whenever they were spending time together in various ways. He let out a sigh, realizing how much he missed them

A2 looked at him with a hint of concern on her face. Y/N didn't saw it, though as she hid it pretty well from him, "What's wrong with you?"

"Nothing." Y/N pushed himself out of his thoughts about, "I just lost myself in my thoughts. It happens to everyone from time to time."

"I see." A2 nodded in understanding, even though feeling like he wasn't telling him the truth. She felt like she could relate to him right now. She knew how it felt like when you missed your friends. Y/N silently stared at the creek in front of them for a few seconds, before letting out a small chuckle. She looked at him questioningly, "What's so funny?"

"Nothing. I just how me and my friends would apply the rule of "Sleep is for the weak" now, considering the sun is always on the sky." Y/N explained, letting out another chuckle after doing so, "I don't think we would notice the passage of time because of the sun always being on the sky."

"Maybe. I don't know." A2 shrugged, unsure of how else she should respond to this, "I remember how suprised you were when I told you about the sun always being on the sky."

"Can you blame me, though? Anyone would be suprised if they found themselves in my position. To be honest I'm still getting used to the fact the sun is up for the entire time." Y/N admitted, "The suprise I felt when you told me about the sun staying on the sky for the entire time must have been how the main character the Sun Vanished must have felt when he woke up and saw the sun was still not up."

"The Sun Vanished?" A2 asked, having no idea what he had just brought up to her.

"It was an internet story about one guy who one day woke up and saw the sun vanished, just like the title says." Y/N started his explanation of what it was to her, "This story was pretty much about the main character sharing his experience in what had become of the world around him with the people following this story learning more about the world presented in it the further the story went. The saying this story ended up getting a lot of attention after the first tweet came out would be quite the understatement."

A2 gave him a nod of understanding, "I see."

Y/N picked up the earbud A2 had taken out of her ear a few minutes ago and held it out to her, "I almost forgot about it because of our conversation. Do you want to go back to listening?"

"Not now." A2 responded, "Maybe later."

Y/N nodded in understanding, "Okay."

The two of them ended their conversation for now as they continued to stare at the fishing line in the middle of the creek in front of them, waiting for another fish from the creek to make itself known to them. The comfortable silence between them was eventually broken a few minutes later when another fish got caught into the fishing line. A2 immediately got into the action as Y/N barely reacted to it, having lost himself in those thoughts during those past few minutes.

After fighting the fish for a few seconds, A2 pulled her recent catch out of her water and took a look at the fish she had just caught before placing it aside, "Alright. There's the fifth one. We'll be moving out of the forest soon."

Y/N gave her a quick nod of understanding to show her he heard her say those words to him as A2 wasted no time and put the fishing line in the water again. He stayed in his thoughts for the next few moments, continuing to think about one subject. He nodded his head to himself after those few moments passed. He titled to look at A2, wanting to talk with her about this one subject.

"A2." He called out for her to gain her attention again, feeling like there was one thing he had to say her after all this time, "I never got to say this to you, but thank you."

A2 looked at him with a suprised look on her face, taken by suprise by the fact he had just thanked her, "For what?"

"For what she asks." Y/N let out a brief chuckle at A2's genuine confusion at his expression of gratitude, "For taking care of me ever since you found me. Who knows what would have happen to me if I didn't stumble upon you. There is a high chance the first machine I interacted with would have smashed me to the ground if you didn't appear and slashed it into pieces. You protected from the machines and kept me fed, even though I kept making comments about your meals are far away from decent. This seems like enough of a reason for me to thank you."

A2 was silent. Not a single words left her mouth for the next few moments. It's not like she wanted to stay silent about it. She just didn't know how to respond to Y/N's words. It was a long time since she was properly thanked by someone and what made everything tougher for her to find a proper respond was the fact she had just heard those words not from an android, but from a human. She glanced to the side, not wanting him to see the expression she had on her face right now.

"...I'm just doing my duty as an android to protect mankind." She told him after a moment of staying silent, having come up with an answer she considered proper to his words. "I may have abandoned YoRHa and nothing will make me go back to it's ranks, but it doesn't mean I will back away from it when I have a living human sitting right next to me."

"If you say so." Y/N responded, his smile not leaving his face, "You may be doing it, because you feel like this is your duty as an android, but it doesn't change the fact I am grateful for everything you've been doing for me since you found me. This is why I wanted to thank you."

A2 silently nodded at him and shifted her gaze back to the fishing line in the middle of the creek, Y/N's expression of gratitude continuing to fly through her mind. For the first time in a very long time she felt a tiny smile form on her face. She didn't even care about the fact Y/N was seeing her reaction right now. Y/N smiled at the view of it, staying silent because it was the very first time when he saw her smile since he stumbled upon her.

They broke themselves out of the moment they were in right now a few seconds later, because it was when the two of them heard loud mechical foosteps behind them. A2 quickly jumped to her feet and pulled out her blade, alarmed by the sudden footsteps and turned around to face the machines behind them as Y/N quickly stood up and turned around to look at the machines behind him and A2, putting his music device and earbuds on the ground as he did so.

"Wait. Isn't that...?" A2 asked, having recognized this machine as the machine she and Y/N met a couple days ago as she slowly lowered her blade.

"Hello my friends!" Vick greeted them with a wave of his mechical hand as he walked over to A2 and Y/N, clearly happy to see them again, "It's great to see you again!"

Y/N smiled upon setting his eyes on the friendly machine as he took a few steps towards him, "Vick! It's good to see you again too. What are you doing in the forest today? Were you visiting your friend again?"

"Yes." Vick replied, "What about you two? What are you doing again in the forest? I thought you told me the gate you used to enter it on the day I met you was blocked?"

"It was blocked until today." Y/N replied, "Let's just say I and A2 encountered..." He paused for a second, not knowing how to call the talking head, "A strange talking head and it ended up crashing through the gate, creating a large hole in it."

"A strange talking head? Did it had large teeth?" Vick asked.

"What?" Y/N asked with a suprised look on his face as he stopped in front of Vick, "You saw it?"

"Yes. I saw it a few minutes ago shorty after I started making my way back to the village." Vick replied, "I tried to talk with it, but it got away from me before I could say anything. To be honest I'm not even sure if it noticed me because it seemed focused on something."

"I see." Y/N nodded in understanding. He sighed internally. A shame Vick didn't knew more about this head as Y/N grew interested in learning more about it after coming across it in the commercial facility, because of neither him or A2 seeing something like this before. From Vick just told him, it seemed like the friendly machine didn't knew what it was either. Just what was this talking head?

"Now that we've met how about you'll accompany me to my village?" Vick asked, pushing Y.N out of his thoughts regarding the talking head, "The children have been asking me and Pascal when you will visit us again. They can't wait to hear another story from you about the fight between a large lizard and the three headed dragon and Millie and Minnie have been asking when Big Sis will visit them again as they are interested in her hair."

A2 raised her brow at the term Vick used when he referred her, "Big sis?"

"Thank you for the offer, Vick as I think we'll have to decline as I and A2 are in the middle of something right now." Y/N responded, "How about we'll pay your village a visit tommorow, though? I and A2 know the safe way to it from the city ruins."

"Alright." Vick replied in understanding as he stepped away from Y/N and started to walk in the direction of the village, "I'll let the children know you'll be visiting our village tommorow. I'm sure they'll be excited to hear this. I'll be seeing you tommorow, my friends."

"I'll see you tommorow too, Vick." Y/N gave Vick a small wave and turned around to look at A2, seeing the look she had on her face right now, "Is there something wrong?"

"Did you really had to tell him we'll visit his village tommorow?" A2 questioned, not interested in going back to the village.

"What's wrong with it? I thought you liked the village, just like you said it to Pascal the last time we saw him?" Y/N reminded her, "Is this about the children machines? Don't worry." A teasing grin grew on his face, "I'm sure they'll be glad to see their Big Sis again."

"Not a word about it." A2 turned away from him towards the creek and started to walk towards it, "Where did they got this fucking nickname from in the first time? I barely interacted with them when we were in the village."

"I don't know." Y/N shrugged as he followed her to the creek, "Are we going back to fishing?"

"No." A2 shook her head as she grabbed the fishing rod and pulled the empty fishing line from the water, "We'll be going back to the city ruins. I feel like those five fishes should be enough for now. I'll later hunt down a few boar after we will reach the city ruins."

"Okay." Y/N nodded in understanding as he walked over to where he put his shoes and socks. He grabbed his socks and put them on his feet before sliding his feet into his shoes.

He turned to look at A2 for a brief moment and saw her slidding her feet into her heels before walking over to his stuff. He grabbed his music device and earbuds from the ground and put them inside his backpack before zipping it, knowing there was nothing else he had to put inside it. He slouched his backpack over his back and picked up his baseball bat from the ground.

After making sure he grabbed everything he had, he turned around to look at A2. His android companion was standing in one place and had her eyes set on him. She was most likely waiting for him to let her know he was ready. He nodded at her, letting her know he was ready to leave the forest without saying any words to her and she nodded back at him.

Not wasting any time, the two of them moved away from the creek and started to walk in the direction of the commercial facility, hoping they will reach it soon without having to fight any machines in the process...

Yeah. Remember what I said about getting the new chapter earlier than the last one? Me too. Once again I'm sorry for the massive delay and I know I'm repeating myself at this point, but hopefully the next chapter won't get me this long to get it done. I guess I just got caught up with my other stories to properly work on this chapter.

Perharps I will started getting the chapters out sooner after the anime adaptation of the game which I'm lookingforward to will come out (Hopefully they won't mess this up). To be honest the anime could have been about 2B and 9S walking around the desert and doing nothing but talking with each other and checking the crates for 20 minutes and I would still watch it because I love these characters so much.
