Prologue

-Forest of Kilobe-

A lone figure can barely be seen as the shadows of the trees covered the tree truck he was leaning against. Sticks snapping can be heard in the distance, causing the figure to hide further in the shadows.

Insane laughter sounded in the night wind. A new figure stumbles in the dark clearing that is surrounded by dark purple trees. The second figure collapses onto the dark blue ground of the planet Kilo.

Suddenly, the laughter stops. The whole forest held its breath knowing what was happening would end in death.

"You...the famous...assassin...?" Rasped the second figure from the ground.

The first figure melted out of the shadows as if he were one. "Yes."

A one-word sentence sent shivers down the old man's back. "...after all this time...?" The man questioned.

He looked up and the light from the orange moon shined on his face revealing strained red teeth. He could have passed as human if it wasn't for the fact his teeth were pointy like a shark's and his eyes completely black as he didn't seem to have any. His hair white stringy with dirt caked in, face and body pulsing red. Wearing nothing but the peasant clothes of Kilo consisting of thin, brown shirt and pants that were ripped and torn in places.

"No." The assassin answered. "I'm not here to kill you."

Silence surrounded the two.

-Unknown Location, Planet TO; Two Hours Later-

"Welcome back, Killer." Was the first thing the famous assassin heard once he stepped out onto the portal landing pad.

He rolled his eyes in annoyance, not giving away anything as the commander was unsuccessfully trying to get a response out of him.

"I would watch my sarcastic tone if I were you." The assassin spoke, walking away from the room filled with multicolored orbs that work as the portal system on Planet TO.

"Or what?!" The commander shouted down the hallway that the assassin was walking through. "You'll kill me."

Oh, the assassin was really tempting to kill him, but Chaos wouldn't appreciate his assassin killing one of his commanders.

If only life was simple and easy. If only the assassin wasn't indebted to Chaos.

If only...

-Camp Half-Blood, Earth; At The Same Time-

Chaos.

The only word that can describe the flurry of motion and emotions from the campers. These were the normally relaxed campers as they had the partially immortal camp counselors, the partially immoral seven of the great prophecy, and the gods on their side. So why were they running around freaking out?

Good question...

"PERSEUS JACKSON!"

...and there's the answer.

The mentioned Son of Poseidon laughed in a carefree way, while his female cousin ran after him with lightning sparking off her arms.

"You are so dead!" She yelled more quietly this time as her throat was hurting from the last ten times Thalia had screamed at her younger cousin.

"You have to catch me first!" Percy shouted back, running in between campers from his way down Half-Blood Hill.

The sun was shining down on the strawberry fields causing an amazing aroma to settle in the camp. It wasn't too hot at the beginning of June, though it wasn't too cold either. It was the perfect temperature for the demigods.

SCREECH!

The poor campers were mostly unaware of the storm that was brewing between the Son of Poseidon and Daughter of Zeus. A camper from the Aphrodite cabin nearly walked into Thalia's path to get to Percy, screeching at the top of her lungs.

"FOR THE LOVE OF ZEUS!" Thalia roared in anger. She really wanted to kill Percy.

For his part, Percy was having the time of his life. Running away from his angry cousin was nothing compared to he's done in the past.

Unfortunately, Thalia isn't getting out of this unscathed. Fortunately, it was only-

SPLASH!

-getting hit by water. Thankfully Percy didn't want to kill her as she wants to kill him. He made sure she didn't drown.

"YOU ARE SO DEAD!"

And there goes the cycle all over again.

-Planet TO, Cafeteria; One Hour Later-

"FOR LOVE! FOR PEACE! FOR FOOD!" The battle cry rang throughout the room at the usual time.

At first, every member of the Chaos Army would jump at the sudden war cry. Now, everyone has gotten used to the slightly crazed soldier. Conversations resumed after the outburst showing that, yes, this happens every evening at dinner.

The cafeteria in the main base of the Chaos Army on Plant TO is big enough to fit five log tables that housed at least one thousand soldiers each, a long table towards the back that holds all the food, and a much smaller table that sits on a raised platform with eight throne-like chairs behind it.

Currently, only six out of the eight chairs were occupied. The six being the commander and the five different unit leaders. Speaking of the commander...

"Hey, Nyke. Do you know when-" The leader of the fourth unit started to ask, but the doors bursting open stopped her from saying more.

At the entrance stood a male figure dressed in black assassin clothing with a hooded cloak and twin swords strapped to his back. It's not abnormal to see him at meals when he is on Planet TO, though everyone in the room still held their breath as the assassin walked through the tables to his sit on the left open seat.

Once the assassin sits on his throne-like seat, the chair on his right glows before a powerful being appeared. "Lord Chaos." Everyone greeted the being.

Chaos smiled softly. "Good evening, my warriors!" With those words, the soldiers went back to what they were doing aside from those sitting at the table on the raised platform where Chaos, the assassin, the commander, and the unit leaders sat.

"You were saying, Charis?" The commander asked the female unit leader who was seated at the far right end of the table.

Charis' eyes widened at the question. "Nothing, I was just wondering something about the history of Planet TO but remembered it as Chaos sat down." Her answer was cool and control, though her heartbeat was out of control.

"Okay." Commander Nyke answered, going back to his dinner.

Chaos sighed. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his face tiredly.

"Chaos?" Hesper, the first unit leader, asked cautiously.

Chaos looked around the head table, noticing all the leaders of his army staring at him except for his assassin. "I'm sorry. There is a war on the horizon that is taking a toll on me." He smiled slightly at them all.

The leaders were shocked at his words, however, the assassin wasn't. "It's finally happening, isn't it?"

"Kosmos..." Chaos flinched at the emotionless tone that is usual, only Chaos knew the underlying emotions that come from the question. Chaos sighed. "Yes, it's finally happening. You are needed. I am sending you along with the rest of the leaders and units one and five."

Kosmos stood suddenly, leaving the cafeteria with an angry aura. Everyone flinched at the slamming of the huge doors.

"Well, that went better than expected." Chaos breathed deeply in relief.

"'Better than expected'!" Nyke asked in a loud voice. "What in the Hades just happened?!"

"Chaos?" Malantha, the second unit leader, questioned after some silence.

"Kosmos is from the place where the war is starting. He is very much involved with them." Chaos answered.

Vernandos, the third unit leader, spoke up. "Where is the war happening?"

"How about we take this to the throne room?" Chaos asked, standing up to move to the throne room that acts as the meeting room for the army leaders. He wanted to keep this quiet and it wasn't helping that all the soldiers were blatantly watching and hearing this conversation.

"Chaos?" Milos, the fifth and final unit leader, questioned.

Chaos sighed again. "Fine. Kosmos is upset because a war is starting on his home planet, at a place that was once his home."

The leaders shared a look at the new information about the assassin. Nyke asked the question that was on everyone's mind. "Which is...?"

"On Earth, more specifically, Camp Half-Blood."

-Camp Half-Blood, Earth; Later That Night-

Perseus Jackson laid in his bed, lost in thought. Something was wrong to the child of Poseidon, he just didn't know what. Something bad was happening.

Before the Hero of Olympus could do anything he gasped in pain, finally understanding.

It was time.

He only hoped that everything would turn out okay in the end. If only he had more time or all the time in the world. If only he didn't...he hadn't...

Perseus Jackson then disappeared in a burst of black energy.

If only...

Well, I was going to work on other books, but this came out instead. I figured, why not? I have nothing else to do right now (aside from four other books I want/need to write...), so this came to be.

I really hope you all enjoy. Please let me know what you think! I am so excited for this different take on Chaos' Army.

Thank you for reading!
