Kylo Ren bowed before the hologram of the supreme leader, Snoke. Deep down he didn't want to serve him and he lived in fear that his master would one day discover the truth that he only served him for the sake of his twin sister, Katherine. He knew that if he did not do as Snoke commanded, his sister would die. He couldn't let that happen, not when she was the only one who understood him. Not after he had promised his parents that he would protect her with his life.
"I have a mission for you boy," Snoke said, pulling him from his thoughts.
"Yes, master?"
"Go to Naboo, convince their young queen that the First Order is good and that they should side with us in this war."
"Yes Master," he answered. "Can I take my sister with me?"
Snoke looked at him skeptically the girl was his strongest pull over Kylo, as long as she was kept at the base he could command Kylo to do anything and he would obey, knowing that any disobedience could lead to the death of his sister.
"She is better at negotiation than I am," Kylo pointed out. "And while my strength in the Force is physical, her's is physical. She has never came across a being who's mind she cannot pierce, even Skywalker himself and he never knew that she had done it."
"She has no power over me," Snoke replied.
"Of course... but the leaders of Naboo do not possess your power master."
"I suppose that you are right, but don't try anything. Do not underestimate my power, I can kill her just as easily on Naboo as I can here, so do not betray me. And do not forget that if you fail me, not only will you be tortured but you will have to watch your sister be tortured as well," said Snoke.
"I won't fail you master."
"We shall see. You've broken that promise many times."
"I won't this time," Kylo insisted.
"We shall see," Snoke repeated and then his hologram faded.
Kylo turned and walked swiftly down the hall to his sister's room. He knocked on the door.
"Who is it?"
"It's Ben," he whispered, not wanting anyone else to hear his real name.
"Come in," she answered excitedly.
He opened the door and ran into her open arms. "I missed you Ren."
"I missed you too," she answered. "You were gone for a week, I was getting lonely."
He nodded. "I was so worried about you, they didn't hurt you did they?"
"No, I can take care of myself brother."
"You can't protect yourself from Snoke," he answered, pain in his voice as he thought of the way Snoke had tortured her with force lightening in the past.
"Neither can you," she answered.
"I deserve it Ren... do you know what I have done?"
"To protect me... it's not your fault Ben. It's mine, if it wasn't for me you wouldn't be in this situation," she interrupted.
"It's not your fault, it's mine. If I was stronger, I could have stopped Snoke and you wouldn't have to spend your life as a prisoner of the first order."
"If we're going to blame someone, we might as well blame Snoke, he's the one who caused all of this."
He nodded. "He sent me on another mission."
Katherine's face fell, "but you just got back."
He smirked slightly. "Don't worry, shorty. I convinced him to let you come with me, I need your negotiation skills."
Katherine smiled, Snoke hardly ever let her off of star killer base. She got tired of being trapped there all of the time. "Where are we going?"
"To Naboo," he answered.
"I've always wanted to go to Naboo, where our grandmother once ruled. I heard that it was one of the most beautiful planets in the galaxy."
Ben smiled. "I knew how much you wanted to see it, I couldn't go without you."
