Step 1
The library was silent, it was his kind of atmosphere. Quiet, comforting. Upon his reading, Ty finally shut his novel. He finished it. His gaze fell upon the window, and with realization, it was dark. He didn't realize he was reading for that long. Ty stood up, and placed the book on the cart for 'check in'. Taking out his phone, it was 9:47.
Step one
Ty sighed, and grabbed his things; which consisted of his purple jacket and his black book bag (which held the other books he checked out). Putting on his jacket, Ty shifted his hair. His gaze followed behind him, he noticed a guy looking at him. His eyes widened, quickly turning around. An unsettling feeling washed over his chest, as he realized the possibilities. The guy either had something else by Ty he was looking at, but that couldn't be so. Their eyes locked, not him distantly looking past Ty. Or the guy could be looking at him, thinking he was cute, but that wasn't it. He would get up to flirt, or he'll just shrug off his thoughts. Ty hoped that was it.
Ty walked out the front doors of the comforting library, the warmth was soaking in and disappearing into Ty's own feeling. The night air was cold, to which Ty decided to take the long way. The way that's not.. that place. Not knowing where he was, he walked the direction of his apartment; at least where it should be. He passed by little shops, or party places. Going down the main street was a bit frustrating, knowing of the big crowds. Ty adjusted his bag's strap on his shoulder, and glanced behind him. He felt his stomach drop, and his thoughts slightly spin. It was the guy back at the library. He was looking straight at Ty, not missing a beat. He was not effected by the sudden eye contact, in fact, he was slightly pleased.
Ty turned around, and began to walk slightly faster. As the minutes pasted, Ty could easily see the man's reflection on the glass windows he past, to which he walked a bit faster each time he saw it. The man could just be walking the same way coincidentally, Ty hoped. The night sky wasn't clear anymore, instead was polluted with grey clouds hinting rain. The man could live near Ty. But that was an unsettling thought. The crowds cleared as the clocks struck 10:00. Now Ty was alone, walking down the street, with the man still following him. Ty felt uneasy, but that feeling quickly turned into fear as Ty felt a something forcefully grab his arm.
Ty was suddenly shoved into the brick wall of a bar, which was still open and running smoothly. The man grunted, staring into Ty's wide open eyes. The man had messy black hair, and unsettling grey eyes. He then leaned in, to which Ty whimpered, quickly shutting his eyes. His eyes teared up as flashbacks overthrew his mind of a year ago. Similar events just had to occur. Was he going to relive his dark past? Or was his dark past not even over yet? Just as the man's face about reached Ty's neck, his lips parted. But he was cut off before he could do anything.
"Hey! What the hell ar'ya doing?!" A slur of words filled Ty's thoughts, causing his eyes to snap over to the right.
There was a young man, who looked the same age as Ty. He looked drunk, his hair messy; grey under was his eyes. His shirt was stained with wine, which didn't make sense since he held a beer bottle. He looked quite annoyed at the scene in front of him.
"Did your father ever taught you about self respect?" He said, pointing the glass bottle at the man that held Ty against the cold brick wall. The man 'tched' and grinned a cocky grin, straightening up. His arms fell to his side, freeing Ty from his harsh hold. Ty slowly slid down the wall, tears slowly running down his face. His face was of shock and fear. He was... free?
Ty slightly turned his head, his hand gripping his left arm. The man had squeezed his arm enough that it was beginning to bruise. The drunken man had long dark brown hair, which reached to about the shoulder. His eyes were a unique golden brown. He was slightly tan, but compared to Ty's pale white skin, he was dark.
Suddenly the man came running at the drunk, his fists swinging. But that was when the brunette stepped aside, and swung his empty glass bear bottle at the man's head. The man cried out in pain, falling to his knees. He gripped the back of his head, leaning forward. Blood dripped onto the cold cement floor.
"Y-You bastard-" The man chocked as the brunette kicked his side roughly.
"You don't treat someone as something to get off on. Treat them like they ar'an important piece of life. Because they'ar."
The guy grunted, holding onto his side in pain. He fell over onto the side that was in pain, gripping it.
The brunette's face was in disgust. He then looked over at Ty, to which caused him to quickly turned away. Ty brought up his knees and hugged them, hiding his nose behind his knees. He slightly shivered, to which he quickly responded to wipe away the tears before the drunken man could notice them. But that was false hope.
"Hey." Ty looked up slightly to see the man who saved him. He was kneeling down in front of Ty, a soft smile upon his face. "Don't be afraid, no one's going to hurt you anymore." He brought his index finger up to Ty's face and wiped away a single tear Ty didn't notice slipping down his red cheeks. "My name's Adam." His eyes were of warmth and comfort, to which reminded Ty of a small winter cottage in fairy tales.
Ty stared at the boy, his eyes wide and teary.
