"No!" Clair yells as the Stranger falls back, the bullet pierces straight through her neck and slams against the ground. Clair wraps her arm around her head as the Stranger's eyes glow and dim.

"Mommy? It's getting dark." She says blood trickling out of her mouth. Clair tears up and gently rubs her head,

"Hey, it's okay. You can sleep now." Clair says her voice cracking as tears flow down her cheek.

"Did I protect Mommy? Is she safe?" She says her voice lowering to a whisper.

"Yes, Mommy is safe. You did it, Clair, you can rest now. Just close your eyes dear, it'll be okay." Clair smiles sadly and the Stranger smiles slowly, closing her eyes and breathing her last breath. Everyone goes silent, the only sound is the pattering of rain and the roar of thunder.

Clair places her hand on her head and sighs, she looks over at Sreya furiously, storming over she grabs a pistol from Brock's hip and points it right at her head,

"She was just a little girl! We were getting through to her!" Clair yells, the soldiers aim their weapons at Clair and Brock slowly puts his hand on the gun. Gently pushing it down and shaking his head, Sreya frowns and looks at Clair,

"It's a dog-eat-dog world now, whatever it takes," Sreya says and this time Devika speaks up,

"No, it isn't, these supposed monsters are humans, they have a trace of humanity in them. You killed a child today. I'm stripping you of your rank and citizenship. Now get the hell out of my town." Devika narrows her eyes, walks over to Sadie's body, and sighs. She looks at the ice cream cone and raises her eyebrow. Picking up the cone with the business name attached to it, Caritas walks over to her and gently picks Sadie up in his arms,

"But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. Dear child, may you find peace in the arms of the Lord. Amen." Caritas walks to the church with Sadie's body; most of the soldiers follow him. Some of them make sure that Sreya leaves the town. Devika walks with the soldiers to ensure that Sreya is exiled, Brock holds Clair in a tight embrace as she cries and Charlie and Kit look down at the body of the Stranger.

"What do we do with...her" Kit asks but no response is given, truthfully they never expected to be in a situation like this.

On the other side of town, Malachi looks down from the wall with gritted teeth and bloodshot eyes, his voice shifting and the air around him starting to distort.

"If it's war they want. It's war they'll get. Tell Lillian to ensemble the entire legion. This town will never know peace again, Petra will fall for the death of my little Clair." Malachi says seething as the lightning picks up, more and more flashes darting across the skies, one of the Mimic Crows nods and flies off. Malachi sighs and starts to practice breathing exercises, the lightning starting to subside and the rain slowing down. He looks down at his hands dripping with water and blood,

"I'm sorry child...Sadie was it? You were a means to an end. I wish it was anyone else but I will do whatever it takes, as soon as I'm done with this reality, it'll all be over and I can finally rest again." Malachi jumps off the wall shifting into a black cat as he lands. Walking around the town, the rain at this point has stopped and the sunlight pierces through the clouds. As he walks he sees residents leaving their houses and talking to some soldiers. He continues to make his way to the gate as Sreya is pushed out,

"You can't do this! I'll die out here! It was a monster!" She yells and Devika crosses her arms offering no sympathy. Sreya curses and runs to a truck entering, Devika looks down at Malachi and smiles,

"Hey there kitty!" Devika leans down to pet Malachi but he runs out of the gate before she can, Devika frowns and shrugs ordering the soldiers to follow her back to the church. Malachi jumps into Sreya's truck bed and she pulls off.

"Bunch of bullshit. I did my job as a soldier and they sent me off like I'm nothing, they don't understand my true glory. I did the right thing." Sreya mumbles and drives off, her radio begins to crackle and distort, the engine stalls and the truck dies. Sreya swears and steps out grabbing her rifle and looking around.

"Sreya," A feminine voice says and Sreya turns quickly pointing her rifle but lowering it when she sees her dead best friend, Sylvie. Sreya stops in her tracks and starts to tear up.

"It's me, it is. I've been wanting to tell you how I feel about you, Sreya. Come here to me." Sylvie reaches her arms out and Sreya drops her rifle and runs to her,

"Oh, Sylvie I thought you died I thought I lost you forever" Sreya cries and wraps her arms around Sylvie.

Sylvie smiles and squeezes her hard, too hard. Sreya starts to wince and tries to pull away from the pain.

"Ow, Sylvie stop that hurts!" Sreya looks at Sylvie and instead sees her face start to melt and her voice distorts,

"You should have saved me Sreya" Sylvie groans out and then snaps her spine continuing to crush her to death. Sreya screams and Sylvie's form shifts to Malachi and he grins.

At the church Cecilia is inconsolable, she was already taking the death of Boran hard but now with the death of Sadie, she's a mess. Caritas walks her to his room in the church to lie down and rejoins the group sighing,

"How is she?" Clair asks and he shakes his head

"Very bad, if it wasn't for Asu I think she'd..." He trails off not wanting to finish that sentence but the others know exactly what he's saying. The room goes silent in an awkward silence for a few moments before Devika walks in, breaking the silence.

"Sreya is gone, we made sure she drove off. We gave her a rifle and a month of food and water, she'll be fine on her own. She knows how to handle herself." Devika says and sits down on a pew rubbing her face before continuing,

"This town has had too much blood spilled." Devika sighs

"And attempted blood spilling" Kit chimes in rubbing their head, Devika chuckles slightly and nods.

"Has anyone seen Malachi this whole time?" Caritas asks and everyone shakes their head but Devika is quick to defend,

"He's probably at his house, we did tell everyone to get indoors during the search," Devika says quickly and Clair nods in agreement,

"Sounds right to me, probably still feels embarrassed about kissing me" Clair chuckles and Devika shoots her a glare,

"What?" Devika sits up and looks at Clair who looks over at Devika,

"Um, he kissed me" Clair admits again and Devika narrows her eyes and tightens her fists, tears pricking her eyes.

"That lying asshole!" She yells and storms out of the church, Caritas' eyes widen and he runs after her, remembering a similar scenario when Leela said she was going to confront him. If he could get proof, then they could finally exile Malachi. But the priority is making sure Devika is okay. Clair looks at the others and looks confused,

"What? What did I do?" She asks and the others shrug, Brock laughs and speaks up,

"Well, show us where you're staying. I don't want to stay in a church. The soldiers can look after Cecilia and Asu." Brock says and Clair and Kit nod leading them to the house. They see Caritas and Devika arguing in front of Malachi's house. Clair frowns feeling responsible for this and walks inside, Brock jumping on the couch and Kit showing Charlie their room.

Clair smiles and looks over at the Bible remembering Caritas telling her to check out what he highlighted.

She sees Malachi 1:14 is highlighted,

"But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificed unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the Lord of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen."

Clair finishes reading and raises her eyebrow flipping through it further to see if anything else is highlighted until she comes across Revelation 6:8,

"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth"

Clair sighs and flips back and forth between the passages, she begins to understand what Caritas is trying to convey. Malachi is evil, she starts to play the events out in her head, she thinks for a moment before closing the book and setting it on the shelf, she turns to the others,

"I'll be right back," Clair says and the others nod, Kit peeks their head out of their room,

"Stay away from the walls, they're very jumpable!" Kit laughs and Clair smiles, happy they're back to their usual self.

"Want company?" Brock asks and Clair shakes her head and exits.

Clair walks over to Caritas and Devika, Devika looks over at her and tenses up not welcoming her presence.

"What do you want?" Devika asks and Clair sighs

"Look Devika, Malachi never said he was into me or anything he just kissed me, but if you two are already in a relationship I completely understand and will back off," Clair says and Devika relaxes and sighs shaking her head,

"No, I'm sorry Clair it's not your fault and I shouldn't blame you I just thought we had something special. I guess I was wrong." Devika reaches her hand out and smiles,

"Friends?" Devika asks a hint of vulnerability in her voice, Clair smiles and nods.

"Friends" Clair shakes her hand and chuckles.

"By the way, do you have records of people who came in here, like when they came in?" Clair asks and Devika shrugs,

"No clue my sister did all that, I can check and get back to you," Devika says and walks up to Malachi's door knocking hard and Caritas leans in,

"He came here a week ago right when it was established" Caritas understood what Clair was really asking. She nods and thanks him. Malachi opens the door and Devika instantly slaps him.

"That's what you get for lying to me and getting with Clair!" Devika doesn't wait for a response and storms off. Malachi looks at Clair and Clair gives him a fake smile and flips him off, before walking away. A black cat passes her and jumps up the steps into Malachi's house, she shrugs not thinking anything of it.

Malachi shuts the door and the black cat transforms into Malachi as well, he looks at him and narrows his eyes,

"Mimic Two, what was that about?" Malachi Two rubs his face and shrugs before turning back into a crow.

Malachi sighs and Mimic Two lands on his shoulder,

"What did you do Father?" Mimic Two asks and Malachi smiles,

"I left them a present at the gate. Oh, and I have a new task for you, and I am sorry but you won't like it." Malachi grins and grabs Mimic Two forcefully.

As Clair walks with Caritas and Devika to the church some of the soldiers run up to the group,

"Ma'am we have a box outside the gate, it's gift-wrapped. We thought it might be a bomb but we're not sure." The soldier says and Devika nods, looking over at Caritas and Clair, the three of them make their way to the gate. One soldier is unwrapping it and Devika yells,

"Stop! What are you doing?" She glares at him but it's already too late the box opens and everyone freezes in place, some soldiers double over and puke, and others back away. Devika shakes with fear, Caritas mumbles a prayer and Clair just freezes in place her eyes failing to accept this as reality,

Inside the box are the remains of Sreya except her remains are compacted into a perfect cube.
