"What the hell was that!" Boran yells and stumbles back, Kit is too shocked to speak and just trembles. Clair rushes out of the room to the front of the sub. The Bioluminescence life starts dimming in and out, plunging the surroundings into pitch black and back into bright blue over and over again. Boran and Kit rush to Clair's side and eventually the surroundings are plunged into pitch black as even their subs lights switch off, the only light that is on is the playback audio recording of Clair's logs, seemingly playing by itself.

As Clair approaches the audio recording it stops and a disfigured voice fills the entire sub through its PA system, the voice is broken and grotesque.

"Clair White...Challenger Deep...A..B..C..D...E..F...English language...Who are all of you then...humans...we haven't been able to have a voice in so long..." The voice cracks with static as it talks, attempting to learn this language...they all stand in frozen fear. The voice speaks up again.

"Sister...have you seen the white bear? Ha ha...your memories...silly thoughts sister...hmm? Not quite sister...no...you aren't....strange...humans have changed so much...Kit is it?" The voice starts to mock Kit who goes pale and breathes heavily, whatever this voice is it can read memories and in Kit's case it seems to start from when they were a child. Before anyone can say anything a single ball of blue light flashes outside with the face of a polar bear. Kit screams and falls back.

"Katherine...and Kit...why do you have two names human? And what is your fascination with this white bear...interesting...you're interesting...are you afraid human?" Kit covers their eyes and tears stream down their face. Boran rushes over and puts his arms around them,

"Kit, hey stay with us I know it's insane but we need-" Boran can't finish his thought as the voice speaks up again.

"Boran...more like....boring...we don't like you very much...hmm...daughters? You have given birth...no wait Mother has given birth..interesting, Mother? I remember our Mother..." The voice stops and all the lights flicker and slowly turn back on and the Bioluminescence life is back to normal as if nothing happened at all.

Clair covers her mouth and pushes her fingers through her hair mumbling out "What the hell is going on"

Boran shoots up and rushes over to the controls,

"To hell with this mission! I'm bringing us back up!" he yells and starts to flick the controls realizing something is wrong Clair looks at Kit who's still crying and frowns but walks over to Boran.

"What? What's wrong?" she asks anxiously also wanting to just leave.

"The controls nothing is working, other than the lights and air nothing is working what the hell is this creature?" Boran asks

"The devil...it has to be the devil..." Kit murmurs out.

"Only the devil would know my past...the way my parents..." They trail off and Clair walks over to them and extends her hand,

"Don't think like that come on get up this isn't the devil this is just a strange creature I don't really know what yet but together we'll find out" She smiles and pulls them up as Kit smiles and nods,

"Yeah...okay..." They look over at Boran who despite the situation smiles and walks over to them,

"You alright Kit?" he gives them a bear hug and they let out a slight chuckle and nod

Boran sighs and looks back out the window seeing a piece of something so dark it absorbs all light around it, he points it out and the others look at it.

"Should we...grab that?" Boran says and Clair nods

"Probably came from our stranger..." she looks up at the PA system half expecting it to crackle back to life again.

"The Stranger, I like it...kinda sounds like an urban legend." Kit laughs finally having their spirits lifted by the two.

"Guess you were right about the polar bears Kit." Boran laughs

"So Kit and I will go out and grab whatever that object is, and you make sure everything is fine here," Clair says and turns to Kit, Kit nods and follows.

"We probably don't even need the Mechs since the pressure is so low here, right?" Kit asks Clair as they put on their diving suit.

"We shouldn't risk anything when we're out there," Clair says stepping into a Mech, Kit doesn't argue just steps into the other one, the airlock cycles and they step out. They walk towards the object and Kit shoves it in a research bag. Kit gives Clair the thumbs up and they walk back to the sub, as they head back to the sub the Bioluminescence life starts dimming in and out, a clear indicator of what's to come. They both rush full speed back to the sub but before they can get there, the area is plunged into pitch black sea. Kit looks around and their comms start to static as they hear that same broken voice,

"Kit...Can you tell me....why do you feel such guilt...is it because of this?" In the dark water, they make out a figure, a little girl waving, Kit recognizes this little girl, it's their sister from back when they were kids. She calls out to Kit,

"Big sis! Big sis! Come here! Dr. Kissalot got stuck in the tree! He's such a silly cat!" she giggles and runs off, Kit remembers this, their eyes go wide, and run after her,

"No! Wait! Charlie! The car!" they cry out after her and then a squeal of tires and a wet thump is heard. Kit stops and shakes tears start flowing as another patch of light is revealed, a small body crumpled on the floor Kit reaches out for it and then they feel a tug and turn to see Clair in the other Mech.

"Kit! What the hell!" Clair yells and Kit realizes all the Bioluminescence life is back, lighting up the area they look down to see a giant drop-down, a drop into pitch-black nothingness, one more step and they would've plunged to their demise with no way back up. This thing, this Stranger whatever it is...it's malevolent.
