The Poison
"Don't get up. You'll hurt yourself." Mom said making me lay back down in bed. I sighed as I wanted to get up.
She set down a tray of oatmeal on my lap and gave me a smile. I started eating. I blinked a few times as I never got used to the weird taste at the beginning of every meal.
I continued eating as my mother left the room to finish cleaning the house. After I finished, I felt funny. I set my tray down on the floor as I got up.
I covered my mouth as I ran to the bathroom as I felt puke coming out of my mouth. My stomach was aching as threw up everything I just currently had.
I touched my throat as it burned from hurling six times before stopping. Wiping my brow, I felt dizzy from losing all my fluids pretty quick. "Oh, great..." Mom started with a glare.
"Now I have to clean up this too." She said making me look down at the puke that didn't make it in the toilet. "I'm sorry," I said feeling bad.
Puke was all over my pajamas as well. "Let's get you in the bath." She said grabbing the hem of my shirt and pulling it up.
As I finished getting undressed, mom was filling up the bath. Mom soon turned off the water as I got in.
"Feel's nice?" She asked grabbing a rag and soap. She started lathering the soap on the rag. "Yeah..." I said feeling a lot better.
"Good." She said grabbing my foot. She started to wash me as I laid in the bath looking at the blue tiles in the bathroom.
I soon felt her hands on my shoulder's. I looked over before I was forced under the water. I tightly closed my eyes as it burned.
She pushed harder as I tried to get up for air. I clawed her chest before I was raised up and into her arms. "Oh, honey." She said hugging me tightly.
I sat in the tub feeling my lungs burned from accidentally swallowing water. "You fell asleep." She said smotting my wet hair down.
"I what?" I asked confused as I started coughing. "You should rest she pulled back with a smile. I slowly nodded as she helped me out of the bath.
She wrapped a towel on me and guided me to my room. I stood there, naked as she picked out a nightgown for me to wear.
"Isn't it pretty?" She asked, helping me put the nightgown on me. I nodded feeling tired. "Let's get you to bed," She said pulling back the covers.
I got in and settled in as she tucked me into bed. I weekly smiled up at her. "I love you, mommy," I said sounding exhausted.
She didn't say anything for a moment before looking over. "Love you, too," she said getting up and leaving the room. I closed my eyes and soon drifted off into sleep.
I woke up feeling warm. I turned to my side a groaned before feeling sick to my stomach again. I went to get up before my mom came in.
She looked at me as she brought in food. "I'm not hungry..." I said starting to pant from the heat. It was starting to really get to me.
"What's wrong?" She asked walking over to me as I kicked off the blankets. She touched my forehead and frowned even more if that was possible.
She sighed before leaving the room as I sat up. She came back with a thermometer and put it in my mouth before I could say a word.
I sat there for about ten minutes before she pulled it out of my mouth and looked at it. She smiled as she looked up at me.
I sunk in my bed feeling as if I was going to puke again. "Awe, you have a fever again." Mom said rolling her eyes and going over to my desk where she had my food.
"Mommy... I'm not hungry." I said had already eaten today and felt extremely sick over it. I always got sick after eating my meals.
"You need to eat. It'll make you feel better." Mom said setting the tray in my lap. I sighed and grabbed my spoon. I was eating oatmeal with toast.
I took a bite, feeling even sicker after tasting something weird. The first taste was always sickening to me before I got used to it.
Mom watched me intently as I ate a few more bites. The taste was still funny. "Mommy... it tastes weird," I said not getting used to the taste this time.
She only put her hands on her hips as she huffed in annoyance. "I slaved over a hot stove all day just for you to insult my cooking?" She asked making me feel guilty.
"No... It's okay, mommy. I'll eat it. I promise." I said taking another bite. I took a drink trying to wash down the icky taste of the oatmeal.
Before I even finished halfway, my stomach began to hurt. I put my hand's over my stomach as the pain increased. "M-mommy..." I said feeling like everything was about to come up.
"You need to finish your meal." She said grabbing the spoon and scooping up some oatmeal. "But mommy, my stomach hurts," I said hunching over a bit.
"No, I will have no daughter that will just go and waste food." She said forcing my mouth open. She shoved the spoon in my mouth as she let go.
I decided to try and forget about my pain and finish my meal. The pain soon became unbearable as I started to cry.
"Stop being dramatic. People would be lucky to have this whole meal." She said as she forced my mouth open again.
I soon finished it and sat there in agonizing pain. I wiped the sweat off my brow before puking all over the tray.
"Mo-" I stopped as I puked once more. "M-mommy." I sobbed as I couldn't see from the tears coming from my eyes.
Blinking, she looked at me with an uninterested look. "I don't... I don't feel so good." I said before feeling my nose running.
I wiped it to see red. My eyes widened in fear as my nose started to bleed. My breathing increased as I felt myself about to puke.
"Mommy!" I yelled grabbing her, getting blood on her. "Stop acting like this. You just have a fever. It's not the end of the world." She said grabbing the vomit-covered tray.
I threw up blood next. I shakingly went to grab her, only to fail and fall off the bed, landing hard on my shoulder.
Everything in my stomach shifted making me gag more all over the gray carpet. The more I gagged, the more blood mixed in with the vomit.
I looked up at her as she looked at me with so much pity. She only sighed before turning and beginning to walk to my door.
I started couch as my throat was dry and in pain. "Mom...my." I croaked out as she turned once again and looked away from me.
I was breathing heavily trying to regain the breaths I lost from vomiting so much. "Please..." I croaked putting my hand in the puddle of vomit.
My vision was getting more darker as I kept coughing up more blood. I vomited once more before staring at the door, hoping my mother would come and help me.
I gasped as I moved onto my back. My shoulder was now adding even more pain now since I fell onto it. As I stared at the ceiling, I took my last breath before everything went black.
