Chapter 30 Naked Baby Angels

Y/N POV:

I blinked every time Lisa's massive pink brush would hit my cheek, putting on more blush while she inspected my face closely.

"Stop blinking, you're going to to get mascara under your eyes."

I huffed, closing my eyes tiredly and prayed for it to be over, "Well if you didn't hit me so hard, then maybe I wouldn't blink so hard."

On that note, she put down the brush and commanded me to open my eyes. Her hazel eyes darting to and fro as she examined my face for flaws that she had been working to fix for the past forty five minutes.

"My master piece is done."

Turning to the mirror, a pretty girl stared back at me. Her eyes were a smokey gold and brown, and her cheeks were chiseled perfectly, bringing any ugly scowl to a sexy pout. My once messy, bed head bun became mature and put together as curls peeked out flirtatiously.

"Holy sh— is that me?"

Our laughs filled the room. We were practically perfect now, and with only ten minutes till, we rushed to carefully put on our esteemed dresses of the night.

"I can't believe I'm going to a ball." Lisa slid into her dark green velvet dress that hung to the floor like royalty. Complimenting her glowing skin and silver jewelry that Namjoon had gifted her for the occasion.

"I know right? I don't even think I know how to walk in these heels." I buttoned up my black heels at the gold tassel and stood up to look at my transformation completely. The navy purple dress I chose hugged all my curves perfectly and gave a glimpse of my leg at the slit that ran up my thigh illegally.

And just for fun, I decided to finally wear that lacey purple lingerie underneath that Taehyung and I had bought together way back when we were enemies.

I figured it would be a nice surprise for later on tonight.

"You ready?" Lisa opened the door for me.

"Do I have a choice?"

With a smile, we walked out to our patient boys who all stood somewhere scattered across the living room. Jin stopped fixing Taehyung's crooked tie as we walked in and all eyes were on us.

"Wowwwwee"

"Damn girls."

"Help! I've been blinded by the light." Jungkook began walking around in circles closing his eyes with a smile.

I couldn't help but blush at their reactions as whistles filled the air, but it didn't matter to me what they thought, I wanted to know what Taehyung thought.

Looking to my boyfriend, I met the eyes of a stone cold dead man, who was frozen in his spot with his mouth parted slightly with his gaze stuck to me.

Did.. he not like it?

"TAEHYUNG. SHUT YOUR TRAP, YOU'RE DROOLING LIKE A DOG." The yelling Jimin walked over and shut his mouth for him, elbowing him in the side to get him out of his statue like stupor.

"I um— you are— this is—"

"Pfft," Jimin chuckled, "Drools like a dog, cat got his tongue."

Finally, whatever spell Taehyung was under was finally broken as he sent Jimin a dirty glare before turning to me with sparkling eyes.

"Y/n you look... stunning!"

I looked down, avoiding his glistening eyes while I searched for words to say. He was more than stunning, with his expensive watch and black fitted suit I couldn't wait to grab him by the tie tonight.

"You look very handsome yourself," I whispered into his ear, fixing his tie that Jin wasn't able to finish.

"I— I have something for you." He stuttered.

"For me?"

Out of the small of his pocket he took out a golden necklace that was both simple and exquisite with swiveled designs that held small pearls within. It matched perfectly with my pearl drop earrings, and without a second thought, I motioned for him to put it on me.

"Taehyung... I love it."

Everyone began shuffling out of the room, leaving us behind and alone in the living room.

"I'm glad you like it." He smiled, fixing the necklace to sit exactly in the middle between my collar bones.

"I have a gift for you too..." I moved the hem of my dress strap to reveal a small part of the lingerie, "Although it's for later on tonight..."

His pupils dilated large once he saw the lace designs, a dirty smile appeared on his beautiful features. "I'm thinking we open your gift now then."

"Nope." I began walking towards the door, "You'll ruin my makeup and hair." I hissed at him.

~~~
We walked in through the grand entrance, handing our gold cards that came in the invitation to the security up front. The event was beautiful, chandeliers glowing a vibrant, happy yellow and the ceiling was painted with naked baby angels. Tables with beautiful cloth and expensive wine bottles stood atop with blooming white, hydrangea flowers being the delicate centerpieces.
"I like naked baby angels." I whispered to Taehyung who had his arm wrapped around mine as we walked through the classical ball.
A chuckle escaped his throat and he scanned the room for any sign of familiar faces. I knew he was used to things like this, but I however, was not.
"Jimin!"
The said man turned around towards Taehyung with a brilliant smile as he made his way through the crowd. He had a white towel wrapped around his arm which held a platter of sparkling delicate glasses.
"Champagne sir?"
We giggled for a second before taking the glasses from him, "Have you seen my father?" Taehyung questioned still searching the room.
"I have, I believe Yoongi was serving him appetizers, but... he didn't seem too happy..."
"My father?" My boyfriend snapped his attention back to Jimin.
"No... Yoongi, I think he's a little heart broken about not being your plus one again." Jimin chuckled before walking away to new guests.
We continued his desperate search, and with every growing second I became more and more confused about our mission. Why did he need to find his father? I thought they weren't on good terms?
"Y/n!" A familiar voice brought my heart to a stop.
"Mom?"
"Y/n!!" Finally locating the voice, I spotted my mother and father making their way through the crowd and I couldn't help but smile
"Mom! Dad!!" I let go of Taehyung's arm for a spare moment to embrace my family that I hadn't seen in months. A bubbly feeling making its way into my heart as my smile widened, "What are you guys doing here?"
"Actually, we planned to surprise you after the ball, but the real question is... what are you doing here?" My mother looked me up and down before noticing Taehyung's presence beside me.
I hadn't even told them yet about us, not even hinted that I was seeing someone, so... this was about to blow their mind...
"I'm here as my boyfriend's plus one. Please meet Kim Taehyung, the administrator's son."
They gawked for a moment, looking him up and down as my words were slowly being processed.
"It's so nice to meet you both," Taehyung took my mother's gloved hand and kissed it gently before looking back to her, "I see where your daughter inherited her beauty from."
My mother giggled like a little girl before elbowing my father, "Looks like I should have found a husband in Korea."
Since my family was from America, Taehyung immediately pulled his hand out and shook with my father who smiled softly at the boy. "I'll be completely honest Taehyung, we thought our daughter was a lesbian for a while."
"Dad!"
The boy beside me snorted, laughing with my parents like they've been best friends for years. I felt at ease as I watched them, things were running much more smoothly than I expected them to be.
"Greetings, Doctors Y/L/N, I hope you are finding the ball enjoyable." We all turned towards the voice to see administrator Kim jump into our conversation with a smile, "I see you've met my son."
"Yes! Yes! He's wonderful!" My mother acknowledged cheerfully.
But something here wasn't so cheerful. I felt the tight grasp on my arm as Taehyung tensed up beside me. Something here was wrong. Really wrong.
"I'm glad to hear! I was actually looking for you two... would you be able to speak to me privately?" Confusion splattered across my parents' faces but they complied respectfully as they followed the administrator out of the fancy crowd.
"What's that all about?..." I immediately began questioning Taehyung.
"My father is a fan of your parents' work." He informed, avoiding my eye contact and scanning the guests.
"Oh, what a coincidence... Um, Taehyung I need to go to the bathroom, I'll be right back" Letting go of his arm I traveled around fancy dresses and doctors in heated arguments before I reached the bathroom. It was just as fancy, with gold trimmings around the sink and frames on mirrors that almost made my reflection look even more royal.
The toilet paper was even better.
Walking out, I dried my washed hands and fixed my beloved shining gold necklace. I entered the crowd, careful not to disturb the "peaceful" doctors who were firing words about abortion.
"Oh I'm so sorry" I bumped into a tall man. His physique was over powering me and the back of his head finally turned to face me with a mean scowl.
When I saw that awful scowl, my breath hitched in my throat.
Poison.
The same star tattoos that decorated his face and those signature words that sat across the top of his brow greeted me once again.
"Y-you.."
I couldn't speak, I couldn't move, the only thing I could think about was the tight grasp he had around my white wrist the moment we first met.
A devilish smile crept onto his lips and the fear within me changed to second gear. Of course I couldn't scream, making a fool of myself in front of these people could mean a ruined reputation for my parents and Taehyung.
My lips began to tremble and an awful shiver ran down my spin as I examined his tough figure. Was I hallucinating? A nightmare perhaps? If so, the weapon I spotted lodged into his pants made sense.
"Hah... see you around sweetheart." And he turned around just as I had taken a wobbly step back, the black intercom sticking out of his ear, showing itself as I watched him disappear into the crowd.
I grabbed hold of a table to balance myself while the world around me spun like a wild roller coaster.
Where... where is Taehyung? I need him. Now.
Taking another drunken step backwards, I felt the marble ground underneath me slip from under my feet. In slow motion, the grand chandeliers that hung above came into view and the beautiful painted angels I had observed before watched desolate as I lost my balance.
A hand grasp my waist and caught me mid flight before I fell to my doom.
"Taehyung?"
But it wasn't Taehyung. A very surprised Namjoon looked back at me before helping me to a chair.
"Y/n.. are you alright?"
Lisa showed up next to me with the same amount of concern written on her face. A glass of water magically appeared into my hands the following seconds.
"P.. P... Poison." I murmured, eyes as wide as an owl's as I drank the crisp water.
"Poison? You have food poisoning?" Lisa questioned.
"N—no."
"You drank poison?" Namjoon quickly put his hand to my forehead to check for a fever.
"No.. no.. poison was here."
The two looked down at me, their brows furrowed together as they stood there more confused than anything else.
"Wait— poison poison?" Lisa pointed to her upper brow where that dreadful man had that chiseled tattoo.
"Yes. Poison poison." I finally blurt out, taking another sip of the water, "And it looked like... he had an intercom in his ear, like he was some kind of guard." My thoughts finally combined and realization poured into me, "He had a gun! He had a gun!"
Something clicked on Namjoon's face and he began scanning the room, "Where's Taehyung?" His head spinning in different directions for the boy. And that's when it hit me.
He disappeared too.
"I don't know."
He grit his teeth and nodded to Lisa before they both pulled me out of the chair. "We have to get you out of here."
And the party was over for me.
