Chapter 29 Free Real Estate
It was SO hard to study now.
Across from me sat Taehyung who couldn't seem to unglue his eyes from me and I knew why. I had the same problem to be honest. For the past few days we would every so often get into each other's way and somehow end up making out against the wall like the competitive couple we are.
Sometimes taking it a little further...
I'LL ADMIT.
I'm getting more and more comfortable around him. Allowing him to touch me without having to flinch or wonder why he was being so intimate. But he was my boyfriend and he was mine.
And I liked the luxurious property that I called free real estate when we watched movies together, intertwining everything and anything.
And he bought me a new phone. Apparently, I was "obligated" to forgive him for purposefully dropping mine because I had technically done the same exact thing to his.
Even though I was no longer in debt, (if we're speaking in legal terms) I felt it was two different things to drop a phone purposefully and to drop a phone accidentally.
My mind began to wander thinking about the man in front of me while the text book I held probably gawked at me in disbelief.
Yes, I had a sex life.
Yes, we used condoms.
Yes, I was distracted from school.
Yes, I'm in love.
"Hey. Whatcha thinkin' about?"
Taehyung's question snapped me back to reality, dropping my pen onto the floor awkwardly. "I was thinking about..." I blanked out. Looking at the front of the book, I remembered which subject I was supposed to be learning about. "Neuromuscular disorders." I stated flatly, hoping he wouldn't see my cheeks turn to something pink.
"Hmmm. Really?" His credulous smile told me he wasn't persuaded.
This is why I'm not a lawyer.
"Yes, really."
He raised his eyebrow at me, still seeing through my obvious lies. Slowly he got up, treading over to me as I covered my face with my book, leaving my curious eyes as the only thing visible to him.
"Hmmm, do you want to learn some anatomy?" He purred not so innocently as he towered above me.
Eek.
I shrunk into the couch, holding back my squeals and smiles behind that poor book as he leaned in closer with a smile.
Learning anatomy was his favorite game.
He would trace my spine up and down, naming bones, nerves, and whatever else was in the lower region, telling me how beautiful every cell in my body was. And trust me, this wasn't a game you played in anatomy class.
Just as he had taken off his shirt, a knock from the front door sent his eyes into a major eye roll.
"Let's ignore that?" He looked at me hopeful.
"Let's."
But even after we both agreed to dismiss the annoying knock, it only became more urgent with every passing second.
"I swear TO GOD, if that's Jungkook I will BEAT HIS ASS." Flinging the door open, Taehyung stood there shocked for a second before responding to the intruder humbly.
"Hello, father."
I quickly sat up to fix my hair and position of my legs before grabbing my highlighter in hand.
"May I come in?"
"Yes, father."
That stern voice hid something deep and painful as Taehyung voiced those words. I felt something tense in the new atmosphere, contrary to the giggly, happy one we had a few seconds before.
Without looking me in the eye, he walked over and grabbed his white T-shirt off the floor, pulling it over his head like a dreaded chore.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your studying."
I bit back the urge to laugh like a hyena, "No worries! It's nice to see you once more Administrator Kim." I got up in a hurry to bow respectfully.
"Oh please, don't bow so low! How have you been? Perfect health I assume?" He took my hands into his, looking dearly into my eyes.
"Ah..." I glanced at Taehyung who's mouth resembled a bored straight line, "Yes, perfect health Administrator."
My said real estate looked away to the ceiling looking more pissed than ever, but staying silent as if obedience was established in his mind since his days in the womb. It made me wonder why he was like this to his own father.
In my opinion, his father was kind and charming, waving off some sort of gentle spirit that reminded me of my grandfather. Although, I honestly couldn't find the same golden charm that Taehyung possessed in his fierce but yet warm eyes... He was much different...
"That's good to hear!" The administrator let go of my hands before turning to Taehyung, "Ah yes, that's right." Out of his gray suit, he took out a golden envelop stamped professionally with red wax to seal the official looking letter, "Taehyung please be there. It's important for your future— bring along your plus one and for goodness sake if you take that foul mouthed Yoongi with you one more time—"
"Don't worry." He took the beautiful envelop from his hand and tossed it onto the table lamely.
"Very good then... I'll be in my office." The man that Taehyung was practically growling at, left a few moments later before waving me goodbye.
The door clicked shut and I heard Taehyung huff tiredly while he sat down on the couch. He had a problem, and I wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"What's your problem?"
No response, only staring endlessly at the carpet floor. "Hey! I'm talking to you! Why are you so disrespectful to your dad?"
"DON'T call him that."
I flinched.
Stepping back, I wondered whether it was worth pressing for more information. All I wanted was to understand him, to get to know him, to have no secrets between us.
After all, he knew all of mine.
"T...Taehyung. I just wanted to h—"
"Don't. Trust me when I say this, I'm not the one who needs it."
He was cutting me off. A stern voice told me that any more prying could lead to a very bad ending for the both of us. I clicked my mouth shut, choosing my next words carefully as not to infire the beast.
"Then who needs help?"
This time he looked up at me. I could sense him holding something back as those golden orbs stabbed through my soul, but they darted away just as quick as they had met mine.
"Y/n, just... we need— you don't... it's— GAH." His hands raked through his voluminously dark brown hair, threatening to either pull it out or grow out gray hairs.
"It's okay Taehyung." I cupped my hands on his cheeks. Whatever was bothering him was obviously heavy enough to pull him back in our relationship, and no matter how hard that hurt, I still needed to be there for him. "You can tell me when you're ready."
He bit his bottom lip, anguish evident in every cell in his body. But I could feel it. My gut couldn't avoid my instinct that rooted deep in the pit of my stomach from his waving aura.
Guilt.
"Thank you y/n. I— I love you so much." I froze at that almost inaudible whisper. It was the first time he said those words, and even though the matter at hand was skeptical, I could sense truth.
"I love you too."

NAMJOON POV:
I was summoned.
The administrator had finally bottled up with curiosity to call me to his front office, and from the looks of it, I didn't have a choice.
Standing in front of those long rustic mahogany doors, I questioned whether I should walk in or make a silly excuse to avoid him for my own sake.
An excuse won't cut it with that man.
Gaining the courage, I knocked quietly with my fist, licking my chapped lips nervously as I hoped for no response.
"Come in."
Damn it.
"Hello administrator," I smiled, walking in, plastering my mask of fake positive emotions as I bowed, "You called?"
"Ahhh, Mr. Kim Namjoon! I've been itching to see you!"
I have not.
He put down his heavy wooden pen that glistened with touches of gold, inviting me to sit in front of his wooden office table filled with crap.
"Honestly, let's skip the small talk and get right to my questions." Mr. Kim stated with a smile, folding his hands calmly looking me up and down, "Tell me, what has Taehyung been up to recently?"
I gulped. I have no idea what Taehyung was trying to hide from his father, but whatever it was, I didn't want to reveal it. "Well, I hear he's been doing well in school."
Was this about his education?
"No no no, I know he does exceptional in school, tell me about... his private life."
I held myself back from making a sour face, pushing my glasses back up on the bridge of my nose, "His private life? Like— his friends?"
"Not quite, maybe— his lovers?"
Oh boy this was going to be hard. Images of y/n flew past my mind like those flashes you get before death. "I know he has a lover... whom he cares very dearly about."
He leaned back in that squeaky leather chair, eyes glistening at the mention of the word lover and a devilish smile crept onto his face.
"Namjoon, please don't be so vague. I know about y/n. All I want to know is how serious they really are."
That's it? That's all he wants?
"They're serious."
His eyebrow raised, I could almost sense an incoming eye roll, but out of respect for me, he bit back every pissed off nerve. "I believe I said not to be so vague." He clenched his teeth, smiling on the last bit of patience his body could muster, "Are they active?"
Was he really asking me whether Taehyung is sexually active with his girlfriend. Taehyung. Of all people. TAEHYUNG.
It's like asking if bunnies are vegetarian.
"From what I know he is."
He nodded, looking away to his computer for a few seconds before his gaze ventured back to mine, "Do you know if they practice safe sex?"
What the hell?
Yes, because I'm in the room watching them as they get it on. Of course I know.
But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that they might not be using condoms.... I mean why would Taehyung need to test y/n in the first place if they were practicing safe sex...
"I— I don't think they are."
A flicker of amusement crossed his face, sending me deeper into my ocean of confusion.
"And why should I trust you?"
"Because we fooled y/n and tested her secretly because of Taehyung's rising suspicions.. and I have proof."
He rubbed his chin, deep in thought probably trying to process everything I just blurted out.
"And? Is she expecting?"
"No."
He sat back in his chair, a mix of emotions crawling under his skin as he took in this new information. I felt like the dirty mole turning his back on his friends. On Taehyung, on my childhood friend.
I clicked my dirty converse together, becoming a nervous wreck with every passing second.
"Very well Namjoon. That is all for today."
I don't believe in God, but thank God.
Getting up from the chair, I made my way to those mahogany brown doors that sang of freedom.
I held back every urge that screamed for me to scramble out of there like a terrified cat. Putting my hand on the hard metal I unfortunately heard his voice once more.
"Oh and one more thing, make sure to see your father, he must give you an invitation to our university's M.D. ball."
Oh yea.
Our university held a grand ball for all the greatest doctors in the world to come together, socialize, and share new ideas. Since I was the son of a very important doctor and leader (as well as Taehyung), we were also invited because we had "potential" seeing that we were also in medical school. People like Jin, Jimin, or Yoongi, would work as waiters in hopes of seeing some of their greatest inspirations.
"I will."
And I was finally gone, guilt taking over my being as I walked away.
~~~~
Ugh, I finally finished this chapter.
Literally have been babysitting every child on this earth for free. I'm such a push over and I'm too nice to ask for money, so now all I get is an empty bank account and a bunch of ripped nerves because kids are crazy.
Please send help lmao.
Here's a gift for both you AND ME.
Can you imagine taking all the beauty and talent that was supposed to be distributed to everyone on earth but instead one person got it all. And that person's name is Kim Taehyung.
The more you know 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
