Chapter 13 House of cards

I threw the black clothes on the floor in a hurry and put on my soft navy blue hoodie. Lisa was still chewing away at her orange chicken that was drenched in a sweet sauce that I'm sure quenched every desire she had in her body. I, on the other hand, had lost my appetite. No matter how good her plate smelled, I knew this emptiness inside of me could not be quenched with any food or drink. Even if I hadn't had a meal in about two or three days, there was nothing I could do to to fill this hollow feeling in my soul. Sitting down on the floor, I examined the clothes, careful not to touch them.

Lisa's mild chewing suddenly stopped. Even though my eyes stuck to those clothes, I saw her slowly put down the plate and kneel beside me, making sure not to make any sudden movements. Her soft hand found mine as her warmth enveloped every finger.

"Y/N." she quietly broke the utter silence, "Y/N, please look at me." This time turning my face towards hers to break my absent gaze.

When I looked into her glassy eyes, I saw something way more than my own reflection. I saw pain.

"I knew them. They used to be my best friends in high school." she breathed out, "They pulled a similar case on me as well"

My lungs crushed under the weight of my already heavy heart. She was hurt too?

"So trust me when I say this, I know how you feel, and now that you've overcome the shock by now," She stopped to squeeze my hand, "Don't hold back."

It started slowly. First it came out as a small sniffle. Then an uninvited warm tear silently rolled down my cheek before making way and splashing loudly on the cold, hard wood floor.

Lisa wrapped her arms around me encouraging the lump in my throat to be even more victorious than it already was. And that's when the tears started to flow down and this time invited with open hands. My sniffles started to turn into downright sobs and my desperate weeps were muffled into the shoulder of her purple sweater leaving dark marks of misery.

"This Y/N, is what a real friend does."

And she was right, it wasn't hanging out with each other at the mall. Or spending time with each other in class. It wasn't even wearing matching clothes. It was this.

It was raw emotions being poured out into each other's arms as we held one another in the lowest of times. Just being there for each other when we needed it most.

"You know I'm actually glad." I hiccuped pulling away from her shoulder.

"You're glad?" She questioned with a red nose and a quiet sniffle.

"Yea, how else would I have learned?" I laughed, but it definitely sounded like I was crying.

"PSSSTT. Taehyung No!!! Come back!! Leave them alone!!" We heard Jin's voice whisper in alarm.

"I just need to check on Y/N!" Taehyung whispered back clearly standing next to our door now, but I swear these walls are made of paper.

"Don't worry. She's with Lisa." Namjoon reassured Taehyung who seemed to give up on knocking on the door.

Turning our attention back to each other we unanimously decided to end our pity party.

"I will not let you be my friend looking like that." Lisa let her eyes move up and down to take in the full party scene. Mascara leaking and all.

"Oh speak for yourself." I grinned getting up in attempt to wake up my sleepy leg.

"You know there are six extremely cute guys inside your dorm room. We both can not afford to look like this." She got up off the ground stretching her legs.

"Six? But there are seven-"

"AHA. SO YOU DO THINK HE'S CUTE!" She hollered making every frame and mirror shake on the walls.

"W.. wait... that's not what I meant..." I whispered remembering the paper thin walls.

"I KNEW I SAW A HICKEY ON YOUR NECK WHEN YOU WERE CHANGING!" She screamed purposely to let Mother Russia know. In response, I started to murder her. With my own pillow.

~JIN'S POV~

Reaching over to grab another card from the deck, I added another eight clover to my hand full of cards with a sigh. All the while sneaking a peak at Namjoon's cards every so often. He was definitely not   going to win this round.

"So what are we going to do?" I threw in a card and winked at Hoseok with my left eye. It was our secret code we set up to "destroy the person to the left of us" same for the right eye.

"About what?" Hoseok questioned, placing another card down and scratching his right ankle. Signaling that Taehyung had really good cards.

"About Y/N, she's going to have quite a few stalkers from now on. Kind of worried for her safety." I clicked my tongue, sounding my agreement to his signal.

"Yea I was thinking about that, I'm not sure what to do yet." Taehyung placed down two cards leaving me, Namjoon, and Hoseok in scowls.

"What if we make sure one of us is always with her?" Jungkook piped from a couple feet away. Him and Jimin were building a house of cards and occasionally slipping Hoseok a convenient card.

Everyone turned to Jungkook, considering the maknaes idea for once as a good one, while I took out an ace out of my sock.

Namjoon was quick to turn off everyone's lightbulb, "Taehyung is her roommate, and he's in every class of hers, but even he can't be everywhere with her."

Everyone's eyes averted to Y/N's closed bedroom. We knew they were in there probably to change, but the faint sound of wailing and sobbing made our ears perk in unison.

Our hearts sank to our stomachs. Of course she was hurt. It's not like she's just going to forget everything that happened just by changing into new clothes.

"This is going to scar her." Jungkook heaved with gritted teeth.  "Traumatized all over again." Taehyung whispered just loud enough for me to hear.

Again?

"Guys, Taehyung can't be with her 24/7, but multiply him by eight." Yoongi rasped behind me on the couch.

"Oh, we thought you were asleep, why eight?" Jimin piped knocking down the house of cards him and Jungkook were building.

"Get used to Lisa, she's sticking around for good." He looked back to the book he was reading/sleeping on.

We all hummed in agreement, but quickly stopped when we heard two women crying this time. Taehyung got up off the floor, biting his cheek in anguish as he shuffled towards Y/N's bedroom door.

"PSSSTT. Taehyung No!!! Come back!! Leave them alone!!" I tried to whisper. "I just need to check on Y/N!" Taehyung kept his vision on the door, already lifting his knuckles to knock.

"Don't worry. She's with Lisa."  Namjoon smiled, but gave him a 'Come on how stupid do you gotta be' look.

Taehyung rolled his eyes, but finally put his ready fist down when we ALL gave him the same look. Even Yoongi, and I swear he woke up for 3 seconds just for that.

Taehyung sat down once again staring intently at his cards.

"You know there are six extremely cute guys inside your dorm room. We both can not afford to look like this." All of our eyes grew large hearing those words, accept for Yoongi (who was asleep) and Taehyung who was still picking around with his fanned out cards.

"Six? But there are seven-"

"AHA. SO YOU DO THINK HE'S CUTE!" This time waking up Yoongi.

"W.. wait..." was all the words we could make out.

"I KNEW I SAW A HICKEY ON YOUR NECK WHEN YOU WERE CHANGING!" Leaving us in gasps as we looked at one another like suspects.

Our eyes all landed on Taehyung as he calmly put down six cards in a row. One after another we watched him place down the last card in a neat row, ultimately emptying his hand.

"That's it for me ladies, Thanks Yoongi."

Hoseok and I turned around to find Yoongi with a clear view of our cards while he saluted with two fingers to Taehyung.

"Why that little..."

~Y/N POV~

Lisa and I peeked out my bedroom to find the boys all fighting one another. Some were wrestling each other, others were tickling each other to death and two were holding up spoons as they danced around a pile of cards like a campfire while screaming, "REVOLUTIONIZE THE HOUSE OF CARDS." There couldn't be a better time to sneak into the bathroom than this.

After nodding to each other and zooming into the bathroom with a makeup bag in hand, we starting to bring our red, swollen faces back to life. Starting with a splash of cold water, and then followed by concealer, foundation, and mascara, we really used everything to our advantage.

"You know this bathroom really muffles out a lot of sound." Lisa began as we listened to the drowned out sound of the boys.

"Yea, and unfortunately my room does not," I rolled my eyes while putting on a pinky lip gloss. "Heh... by the way remember how I mentioned that Taehyung looks at you like you guys just finished having sex?" She said while applying the dark mascara.

I froze, "Yea..."

"Well, I'm serious. It's actually really weird. And it makes me worry since he's your roommate." She turned towards me to experiment a blush on my face before putting it on her own.

"You have no proof." I stated confidently.

She pulled up her phone and googled, "What does a guy look like after sex?" Intently we leaned in together bumping heads while the page loaded. Finally, after what seemed like years, pictures of a satisfied, half lidded, smirk came up on the screen. Some from famous movies, others were selfies, but in the end it was all similar.

"Okay, but not Taehyung. That's weird." I continued to deny it, mostly because denial seemed like the best move to make. "Fine, let's let his face do the talking." She smirked, unlocking the door.

HEY GUYS. THANK YOU FOR BEING PATIENT WITH ME. Also I graduated high school. Yeet. And I now have a full time job somehow as a copy girl. Send help. (If you'd like a fan fiction about Y/N being a copy girl, THEN COMMENT) I am eager. 😏😏

But yea, finally our dearest Yoongi is in the story. Don't worry that's not the last of him ;)

Yes, he's the one who was being tickled.
Okay bye now.
