The Library

Aya's POV

"What's out here?"

At the moment the team and I were in the middle of open field with multiple holes surrounding us and Aang was sitting down in the middle with his flute.

"A lot actually." Toph told us, feeling the vibrations on the ground. "There's hundreds of little-"

"Shhhh! I know you can see underground but don't ruin the surprise." Aang explained to the earthbender. "Just watch."

Aang plays a note on the flute and suddenly a groundhog type creature pops up mimicking the same note. I giggled when I saw the animal appear.

"Yeah!" Aang chuckled and repeated the action causing another groundhog to pop out. "I'm putting an orchestra together!"

"Orchestra, huh?" Sokka asked. "Well, la, de, da."

Three groundhogs pop up mimicking the sounds Sokka made and Momo and Bubbles chased the groundhogs into the holes they popped out off. Aang continued to play the notes and the groundhogs kept popping up while Momo and Bubbles chased the creatures around. Katara and I enjoyed the show but Sokka didn't.

Sokka ran over to Aang and stuck his finger in the flute. "This is great and all, but don't we have more important things to worry about. We should be making plans."

"We did make plans." Toph replied. "We're all picking mini vacations."

"There's no time for vacations." Sokka protested.

"I'm learning the elements as fast as I can." Aang reasoned. "I practice hard everyday with Toph and Katara, even Aya helps me with my combat skills. I'm training my arrow."

"Yeah, what's wrong with having a little fun in our down time?" Katara asked Sokka walking up to them.

"Even if you do master all of the elements then what? It's not like we have a map of the Fire Nation." Sokka protested. "Should we just head west until we reach the Firelord's house? Knock knock? Hello Firelord, anybody home?" I rolled my eyes at my brother as he continued his rant. "I don't think so. We need some intelligence if we're gonna win this war."

Aang played another note and a groundhog appeared under Sokka while Momo and Bubbles ran up to the hole. Aang airbended to his feet as Katara spoke.

"We'll finish our vacations and then we'll look for Sokka's intelligence." Katara jokes and Aang and I chuckle.

Aang got out a map and held it up to me. "You're turn, Aya. Where would you like to go on your mini vacation?"

I scanned the map and pointed to a location. "How about the Misty Palms Oasis? That sounds refreshing."

"Oh yeah! I've been there. It's a pristine natural ice spring. And I usually don't use the word "pristine". It's one of nature's wonders." Aang explained.

——

We arrived at the spring and it looked much different then we had hopped. It seemed very run down and old compared to Aang's explanation.

All of us stared at the oasis in disappointment.

"Must've changed ownership since I was here." Aang laughs sheepishly and I shrugged as we walked forward. Behind us, the sign fell down causing us to jump before we continued walking forward. We walked passed the small ice spring and a dog was licking said ice spring before we approached a small bar and went inside.

The bar was filled with weary travelers and had a bartender that was serving drinks to them.

"One mango please." A traveler said and the bartender created his drink by slicing two mangos with his swords and placing them into the cup and then pouring milk into it. He finishes it off my adding a decorative umbrella and a straw.

"I don't see anything wrong with having one of those fruity beverages while we plan our strategy." Sokka mentioned before running up to the bar. "Excuse me!"

We followed my brother but the traveler before us accidentally bumped into Aang causing the beverage to get all over Aang.

"No worries, I clean up easily." Aang assures him before airbending his clothes clean.

The man gasps. "You're a living relic."

It's nice when someone finds out Aang is the Avatar they don't try to kill him but actually praise him.

"Thanks, I try." Aang shrugs.

"An Air nomad right in front me." The man wondered aloud. The rest of us got our beverages as he spoke. "Professor Zei, head of anthropology at Ba Sing Se University." Zei grabs Aang's arm to look at his tattoos. "Tell me, which of the air temples do you hail from?"

"The Southern Temple."

Zei measures Aang's head with a pair of calipers. "Oh, splendid! Now tell me- what was the primary agricultural product of your people?"

Aang was confused as he responded. "Uh, are fruit pies an agricultural product?"

"Oh, truly fascinating. That is one for the journal." Zei mentioned before writing in his journal.

"So professor, you're obviously a well-traveled guy. Do you have a more current map? Ours seems to be a little dated." Sokka asked Zei as I slipped my drink. This beverage is very tasty, it's sweet but not too sweet.

"Certainly."

We went over to a table and Zei rolled out a map. Sokka studies said map and he looked dismayed when he was finished.

"What? No Fire Nation." Sokka asked. "Doesn't anybody have a good map of that place."

"You've made a lot of trips into the desert." I stated, noticing many trails that led into the desert.

"All in vain I'm afraid. I've found lost civilizations all over the Earth Kingdom." Zei raises his fist a little. "But I haven't managed to find the crown jewel: Wan Shi Tong's Library."

"You spent years walking through the desert to find some guy's library?" Toph asked him with disbelief.

"This library is more valuable than gold, little lady. It is said to contain a vast collection of knowledge, and knowledge is priceless." Zei explained to her

"Hmm, sounds like good times." Toph muttered sarcastically.

"Oh, it is." Zei beamed, not getting her sarcasm. "According to legend, it was built by the great Knowledge Spirit, Wan Shi Tong, with the help of his "foxy" knowledge seekers."

"Oh, so this spirit has attractive assistants, huh?" Sokka smirked intrigued.

I rolled my eyes as Katara pushes his face away. "I think he means they look like actually foxes Sokka."

"You're both right. Handsome little creature." Zei interjected and got out a picture of said library. "Wan Shi Tong and his knowledge seekers collected books from all over the world, and put them on display for mankind to read, so that we might better ourselves."

The library was huge. It almost looked like a castle that a royal family could reside in.

"If this place has books from all over the world, do you think they've got info on the Fire Nation? A map, maybe?" Sokka asked Zei with hope.

If this library does have all this stuff then maybe it has something about firebending, a scroll maybe. Like the one Katara found and I can learn firebending.

"I wouldn't know, but if such a thing exists, it's in Wan Shi Tong's Library." Zei told him.

"Them it's settled. Aang, I do believe it's my turn." Sokka declared. "I'd like to spend my vacation... at the library!" Sokka dramatically points his finger up and we all just stared at him.

I don't think vacation and library mix well together.

"Uh, hey, what about me?" Toph interjects, putting her hand up. "When do I get to pick?"

"You gotta work here a little longer before you qualify for vacation time." Sokka counters smugly.

Toph slams her drink down and looks away. "Hmm!"

"Of course, there's the matter of finding it. I've made several trips into the Si Wong Desert and almost died each time." Zei remarked and looked down sadly. "I'm afraid that desert's impossible to cross."

The beauty of having a sky bison is wonderful.

"Professor, would you like to see our sky bison?" I asked him with a grin.

"A sky bison? You actually have one!" Zei exclaimed.

We exited the bar and saw a bunch of people dressed like deserters harassing Appa.

"Sandbenders, shoo, away from the bison!" Zei ordered the sandbenders and said benders retreated on their sailers. The sandbenders flee from the spring and we all took off on Appa.

It got incredibly hot as we flew and searched for the library. I put my hair up in a ponytail but that barely did anything to help with the heat. I glanced at the sun and felt sorrow because I couldn't firebend at all. Right now is the perfect time but not with everyone around.

Aang, Zei, and I sat up front while the others were in the saddle. Aang and I were checking out the picture of the library and Zei crawls forward. Bubbles was attached to me like a leech but I didn't mind it.

"Tell me, sky bison, are you the last of your breed?" Zei asked Appa who growled in response. "Oh! Delightful! I only wish I spoke his tongue. Oh, the stories this beast could tell." Momo interjects but Zei looks at him. "Shush, chatty monkey."

"Wow, shouldn't be too hard to find a place like this out here." Aang mentions as he gazes at the picture.

We flew for a couple more minutes and I was getting impatient. Zei moved the back of the saddle during that time.

"Does this place even exist?" I asked Zei, crossing my arms.

"Some say it doesn't."

I huffed out and sat there. Aang rubs my shoulder and kisses my cheek which causes me to smile shyly.

"Shouldn't you have mentioned that before?" Toph questions before I heard her groan.

We continued to fly over the sandy desert and haven't seen any sign of the library yet. I was getting tired and Bubbles eventually fell asleep in my lap and I was about to fall asleep on Aang.

"There it is!"

I sat up and looked the to side Toph was pointing too. All of us looked and we didn't see anything and I remember that Toph couldn't see anything from up here and we all glared at her.

"That's what it will sound like when one of you spots it." Toph waves a hand in front of her face and I sat back down with Aang.

Momo had fallen asleep on Aang's head and Bubbles had moved herself onto my head as well.

"It shouldn't be this hard to spot a giant, ornate building from the air." Katara mentions as we all looked out for said library.

"Well, maybe it doesn't even exist-"

"Down there, what's that?"

Sokka interrupted me by pointing toward a large tower. Bubbles and Momo shot awake and we all looked toward the mysterious object in the ground. Aang flew Appa toward the tower to get a closer look.

We landed at the tower and we examined it closely. Katara and I compare the tower figure to the library illustrations and it didn't match up at all. The library is ginormous compared to this small tower.

"Forget it. It's obviously not what we're looking for." Katara dismissed. "The building in this drawing is enormous."

In the distance, we see a sparkle flash and we saw a small creature walk our way with a scroll in its mouth.

"What kind of animal is that?" Sokka asked Zei.

"It looks like a fox." I stated.

The fox approached the tower and it enters it by running into the window at the top.

"I think that was one of the Knowledge Seekers." Zei beamed. "Oh, we must be close to the library!"

Sokka takes a closer look at the illustration and glanced at the tower. "No, this is the library- look!" I looked at the illustration and he was pointing at the top of the library and it looked similar to the tower in front of us. "It's completely buried."

This tower in front of us is not a tower, it's the spire of the library.

Zei was in disbelief and shock.

"The library is buried?! Zei runs forward depressed. "My life's ambition is now full of sand." Zei recovers from his mood and got out a tiny shovel. "Well, time to start excavating." He begins to dig into the sand in hopes of unearthing the library. Toph goes up to the spire and touches it.

"Actually, that won't be necessary. The inside seems to be completely intact. And it's huge." Toph informed us.

"That fox thingy went in through a window." I mentioned, gesturing to the window." I say we climb up there and give it a look."

"I say you guys go ahead without me." Toph suggested and I knew why. She can't read.

"You got something against libraries?"

Does Katara not know why?

"I've held books before. And I gotta tell you, they don't exactly do it for me." Toph explained to her and Katara looked sheepish.

"Oh, right. Sorry."

"Let me know if they have something you can listen to." Toph mentions.

Sokka throws his boomerang with a rope attached to it onto the window and it hooks onto it. Sokka begins to scale the tower and I get ready to go next.

Bubbles chitters sadly and I pet her head. "You'll be fine."

She cuddles into my chest more and tightens her grip. It's not the library she's afraid of it's heights and the thought of going into a cave. Appa was staying out here because of the bison's fear and he couldn't fit into that tiny window.

He's not fat. He's fluffy.

"Don't worry, buddy. I'm not making you go underground ever again. You can stay out here with Toph." Aang told his bison friend who makes a low growl in response.

All of us enter the library and begin to scale the rope into the tower. The library was huge and it was beautiful. It was breathtaking, truly breathtaking.

"Oh, it's breathtaking! The spirit spared no expense in designing this place." Zei expresses with desire and excitement. "Look at those beautiful buttresses!"

Aang, Sokka, and I chuckle at his choice of words and Zei looks at us.

"What's funny?"

Aang shakes his head with a smile. "Nothing. We just like architecture."

Zei smiles, "As do I."

We all slide off the rope onto a small bridge that connects two sides of the library. I scanned the library and I just couldn't take my eyes off the magnificent beauty and architecture.

"My word!" Zei beams as he examines
two mosaic owl pillars. "The exquisite mosaic handiwork of this tile-rendered avian symbol..."

Zei stopped mid sentence when he noticed our puzzled expression

"Ehh. Nice owl."

Rustling was heard in the distance and we all hid behind two pillars. Sokka, Katara, and Zei we're behind one while Aang and I hid behind a different one. Aang held me by the waist protectively and I held onto his shoulders tightly.

Aang and I peaked our heads out to see a giant owl had entered the library and he didn't looked friendly. The owl had a eerie and dark sense to it and it made me feel uncomfortable. The owl craned his head around to see us and he eyes were pitch black.

"I know you're back there."

Aang gasped and we both hid again. Bubbles climbed onto my neck and I grabbed onto the Airbender tighter.

Suddenly, Zei reveals himself to the owl with a bright smile. "Hello! I'm Professor Zei, head of anthropology at Ba Sing Se University."

"You should leave the way you came." The owl suggested. "Unless you want to become a stuffed head of anthropology."

I noticed the stuffed heads on nearby pillar and gulped nervously. Aang rubbed my neck reassuringly before we all walked out to meet the creepy owl.

"Are you the spirit who brought this library to the physical world?" Sokka blurted out.

"Indeed, I am Wan Shi Tong, "He Who Knows Ten Thousand Things." And you are obviously humans, which, by the way, are no longer permitted in my study." The owl spirit,
who is Wan Shi Tong, explained.

"What do you have against humans?"

"Hm!" Wan Shi Tong scoffed at Aang's question. "Humans only bother learning things to get the edge on other humans. Like that firebender who came to this place a few years ago, looking to destroy his enemy. So..." Wan Si Tong leaned closer to a sweating Sokka, "who are you trying to destroy?"

"What? No-no-no-no destroying. We're not into that." Sokka denied nervously.

"Then why have you come here?"

"Um ... knowledge for knowledge's sake?" Sokka remarked unsure.

"If you're going to lie to an all-knowing spirit being, you should at least put some effort into it." Wan Shi Tong countered and I grinned amusingly.

"I'm not lying, I'm here with the Avatar," Sokka argued and grabbed a nervous Aang. "and he's the bridge between our worlds. He'll vouch for me." Sokka nudged Aang and he winced.

"Ow. Uh, yeah, I'll vouch. We will not abuse the knowledge in your library, good spirit. You have my word." Aang promised and all of us bowed.

"Hmm, very well. I'll let you peruse my vast collection on one condition." Wan Shi Tong told us and we all gave him worried looks. "To prove your worth as scholars, you have to contribute some worthwhile knowledge."

Zei stepped forward and held out a book. "Please accept this tome as a donation to your library."

"First edition. Very nice." Wan Shi Tong accepted the book and I stepped forward taking my flower crown off. Aang made this but I don't have anything else to give to the spirit.

"I have a very authentic crown made out of flowers made by the Avatar himself." I grinned nervously and I glanced at Aang. He didn't look thrilled about me giving away his gift but I think he understood.

"Hm." The spirit wondered. "It's quite lovely but it seems special to you. Are you positive you want to contribute it?"

I looked at Aang and he nodded for confirmation.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Very well." The spirit took my crown and I moved over to Aang.

"I'm sorry, I didn't have anything else." I apologized in a low voice.

"It's okay, I can make you another one." He shrugged and I gave him a small smile.

"I'd like that."

Katara gave her water bending scroll to the spirt and Aang stepped up.

He thought for a moment before pulling out a wanted poster of himself. "I know! Ha!"

"I suppose that counts." The spirit said and took the poster.

Sokka marched up to the spirit with a piece of string. "Oh great spirit, check this out!" Sokka ties the string into a butterfly note. "Ta-da! It's a special knot. That counts as knowledge!"

"You're not very bright, are you?" The spirt asked him and I giggled. We haven't even been talking to this spirit for ten minutes and he already figured out my brother. "Enjoy the library."

The spirit hopped of the bridge and flew away.

——

All of us looked through the library and it was so huge. There must be millions of books scattered throughout the library and I was hoping there were some books that had to do with firebending. Bubbles searched around for any firebending books as well but she wasn't much help.

I scanned multiple sections and couldn't find anything. I couldn't ask Aang and Sokka to help and I didn't want to scare Zei so Katara was my last hope.

"Katara." I whispered to her and she looked at me. She came over to me with a smile. "Do you think there are any firebending books or scrolls in this library?"

"I'd be shocked if there isn't. I'll look around for some." She offered and rubbed my shoulder
before walking away.

I continued to check the books and was about to stop until I stumbled upon an interesting book.

I pulled it out and it was titled 'The Legend Of the Fire Angel'

"Fire Angel?" I mumbled, opening the book and began to read quietly.

"The Fire Angel is a spirit who was born with unbelievable power and firebending. He or she is said to be stronger then any firebender in the world and has the power to defeat the Avatar if needed. The Fire Angel is born every one hundred years like the Avatar and is destined to be with them.

I stopped reading and felt my heart shatter. Destined? Of course, he would want to be with a Fire Angel instead of me. I'm just normal Aya and he's the Avatar.

I decided to close the book for now and stashed it away in a small bag I have been carrying around recently. I want to find out more of this Angel because it seems interesting and maybe it can help me out with my bending.

"Aya." I heard a small whisper and Katara came up to me with with a small scroll. "Look what I found."

She unrolled the scroll to reveal fire bending moves and styles and I smiled happily. It was a firebending scroll.

"You found one."

She nodded and handed it to me. "Now you can learn more about it and tell the others."

My face got pale and I shook my head. "I'm good, haha.

She gave me a look and put her hands on her hips. "Aya, you have to at some point. It's your brother and boyfriend."

My face got red at the word boyfriend and I denied the label. "Aang and I aren't really dating."

"Sure," Katara smirked and I rolled my eyes. "I see how you too act around each other. Typical boyfriend and girlfriend behavior."

I waved her off and put my scroll in my bag and walked away from her.

"Don't deny it, Aya." She softly called but I ignored her.

"Don't deny what?" I stopped when I saw Aang sitting on the ground with Momo and Bubbles.

"Nothing." I dismissed and Aang wasn't convinced.

"You can tell me." Aang encouraged, airbending to his feet. Momo crawled onto his shoulder and Bubbles latched onto my arm.

My cheeks got red and I exhaled. "Okay, Katara thinks we are dating and I wasn't sure." Aang's face got bright red and he chuckled nervously. "Are we?"

Aang scratched the back of his neck and shrugged. "I-I mean if you want-" Aang stopped when he looked over my shoulder and I turned around to see who he was looking at.

"Sokka, where are you going?" I asked my brother who was running down a section of the library with a piece of parchment paper in his hand.

"I want to know what happened to the Fire Nation on their darkest day. This could be promising." Sokka informed and the rest of us followed him through the library. "The information on the Fire Nation should be right up here."

We all entered a room that was full of ashes and my heart sunk. Firebenders caused this mayhem and I unfortunately have to call myself a firebender.

"Firebenders." Aang pointed out and I noticed the disgust on his face and I averted my eyes with sorrow.

Telling him I'm a firebender is a terrible idea. Aang doesn't like firebending along with Sokka and they would probably hate me.

"They destroyed everything having to do with the Fire Nation." Katara mentions.

"That's so unfair! Just when I think I'm one step ahead of the Fire Nation, it turns out they beat us here a long time ago." Sokka exclaims sinking to his knees and I rest my hand on his shoulder. "I need to know what happened on the darkest day." Whimpering was heard and we turned to see a Knowledge Seeker had approached us. "Hello, little weird fox guy."

The fox stands on his four legs and points outside the room.

"Seems it's trying to assist you." Zei guesses.

Sokka was confused but didn't dismiss the offer. "Um, sure, I guess I'll follow you."

The fox leads us to a large round door and the fox enters the room using a smaller entrance. The larger door opens to reveal the fox inside the room along with a large, dome like ceiling inside. In the middle was calendar wheel with a lever beside it and all of us walk up to it. The fox pushed the level and the ceiling above changed from day to night and I was amazed. It was a beautiful sight to see.

"Woah." I gawked with a smile.

"This room is a true marvel, a mechanical wonder. It's a planetarium that shows the heavens moving." Zei projects with amazement.

The ceiling changes back from night to day.

"Uh, this is beautiful, but how is helpful?" Sokka asked.

"Maybe these dials represent dates and times. Sokka, try entering that date from that parchment you took." Katara suggested.

"Shh, Katara, not in front of the fox, he's with the owl." Sokka whispers in a mocking tone to our sister and I rolled my eyes. The fox whimpers in response.

Sokka looks at the calendar and enters the date from the parchment before he pushes the level and the ceiling changes from day to night. I throughly enjoyed watching the ceiling change it was a wonderful sight to see.

"Wow, I got to hand it to you, Sokka. You picked the best mini-vacation for sure." Aang mentions as we watched the ceiling change.

The ceiling changes back to day but it suddenly got darker and the sun was missing.

"Hey, wait. What happened to the sun?" I asked confused, trying to search for it.

Aang narrows his eyes at my brother. "Great, you must have broken it."

"It's not broken." Sokka argues before continuing. "The sun is behind the moon. It's a solar eclipse! It's literally the darkest day in Fire Nation history. Now I get it." I looked up and squinted my eyes closely to see that the moon had covered the sun completely. "Something awful happened on that day. I don't know what, but I do know why. Firebenders lose their bending during a solar eclipse!" Sokka pushes Aang in excitement. "Sorry."

That's good news and bad news. If we find out when another solar eclipse happens and we invade the Fire Nation on that day then I won't be able to firebend. However, it won't matter if the others don't know about my bending besides Katara.

"That makes sense. I mean, think what the lunar eclipse at the North Pole did to the waterbenders. This is huge." Katara projects.

The fox got on his hind legs and begs for food from Sokka's bag.

"Fine, you earned it." Sokka tosses the fox a snack from his bag before looking at Aang, Katara, and I. "We've gotta get this information to the Earth King at Ba Sing Se. We'll wait for the next eclipse, then we'll invade the Fire Nation when they're totally helpless. The Fire Lord is going down!"

I really hope Wan Shi Tong didn't hear that.

"Mortals are so predictable, and such terrible liars."

I jinxed it. Perfect.

Sokka gulps nervously and Aang stands in front of me as the owl spirit stood at the entrance of the room.

"Why did my brother have to open his big mouth?" I muttered, gripping Aang's arm.

"You betrayed my trust." The owl spirit continued. "From the beginning, you intended to misuse this knowledge for evil purposes."

"You don't understand. If anyone's evil, it's the Fire Nation. You saw what they did to your library. They're destructive and dangerous. We need this information." Sokka protested, sternly.

"You think you're the first person to believe their war was justified?" Wan Shi Tong questioned him. "Countless others before you have come here seeking weapons or weaknesses or battle strategies."

"We had no choice." Aang pleaded and shut his eyes for a moment. "Please, we're just desperate to protect the people we love."

"And now I'm going to protect what I love."

The owl began to flap his wings and the library started to shake and wind got blasted toward us. Aang held me close as the wind struck us.

"What are you doing?!" I asked him over the loud wind.

"I'm taking my knowledge back. No one will ever abuse it again." The spirit declared and above us sand began to pour in causing the library to sink.

"He's sinking the building. We've gotta get out of here." Katara exclaims.

"I'm afraid I can't allow that. You already know too much." The owl lengthened his neck and he pecked at us but we all dodged it and fled from the room. Aang grabbed my hand as we sprinted away and I heard Bubbles as close as I can.

We ran through majority of the library and the owl was hot on our tails not giving up. I never thought in my twelve years of life I would have an owl spirit chasing me.

As we ran across the library, I heard Zei trying to console the owl. My siblings continued down the library but Aang stopped and used his airbending to bring Zei back before he could get attacked by the owl.

"Go Aya!" Aang shouted and I immediately ran toward my siblings and Zei. Aang delivered a fierce airbending attack at the owl, knocking him off the bridge.

Aang ran toward us and we followed him down the path.

"We've got to get back to the surface!"

We all stopped when we noticed Sokka didn't move.

"Sokka, let's go!" Katara called but he protested.

"But we still don't know when the next eclipse is gonna to happen!"

"Don't be stupid!" I yelled at him. "We'll find out later!"

"No, we won't. If we leave this place, we'll never get the information. Aang, come with me to the planetarium, I need cover." Sokka explained as Aang joined him. "Aya, Katara, take Momo and Bubbles and get out of here!"

"But-"

Before any of us could protests, the Owl breaks through the shelves between us and pursues my sister, Zei, and I

"Go!" Sokka shouted and the three of us plus Momo and Bubbles ran off.

"Hurry, Sokka!" Katara and I shouted.

Katara and I ran as fast as we could and we ended up losing Zei along the way. The owl didn't give up and followed us until my sister and I hid behind a shelve, holding both animals close to us. I was breathing heavily and my panicking increased as I heard footsteps get closer to us.

"At least I'll have one specimen to add to my collection."

The owl managed to spot us and Katara and I dodged his attacked before he could strike us and ran off again. We ran to the middle of a bridge and faced the owl spirit head on.

"You're water and fire bending won't do you both much good here."

I lowered my fist with confusion and shock.

How does he know? There is no possible way he could know.

"I've studied Northern water style, Southern water style, even Foggy Swamp style. I've studied every firebending style including how to redirect lightning and lightning bending."

The spirit lifted his wings to attack but before he could strike, Sokka suddenly slams a book on the owl's head causing it to pass out.

"That's called Sokka Style!" Sokka declared. "Learn it!"

Aang let down a rope for us to climb and the three of us climbed it. Sokka suddenly stopped when he saw something and I looked over to see Zei was still down there reading books.

"Wait! Professor, let's go!"

"I'm not leaving. I can't!" Zei countered as sand continued to pour down next to him and the books. "I've spent too long trying to find this place. There's not another collection of knowledge like this on earth." His face softened as he spoke wistfully. "I could spend an eternity here."

"Just go!" Katara called toward Sokka but the owl woke up causing the rope to shake vigorously. All three of us fell off the rope but thankfully Aang flew by and caught us and Momo caught Bubbles.

The owl chased after us but we managed to escape the library before it sunk and before he could catch it.

My siblings and I landed face first on the sand of the desert and I groaned. I looked up and saw that Toph had been holding the library up this whole time. The earthbender let the library go and it rapidly sunk underground and as the dust cleared, the library was completely gone along Professor Zei.

"We got it. There's a solar eclipse coming." Sokka exclaimed happily and hugged Katara and I. "The Fire Nation's in trouble now!"

We pulled away when we saw Aang was looking for something. My eyes went wide when I noticed something huge and fluffy was missing and Toph knew it. I can tell by her downcast position on the ground and dismayed attitude.

"Where's Appa?"
