He'd Call It A Stupid Idea
Y/N was sat in a tent with a few others. They all looked to her intently. She knew the time had come. Whatever they were planning which involved her was soon approaching.
"Am I going to get to see him again?" Y/N asked, just wanting to know. "My friend, who got put in the maze?"
Vince and Mary, two of the higher ups at the Right Arm camp exchanged glances. "In theory, yes. If he got put in the maze after we rescued you."
"When do we leave?" Y/N was getting impatient.
"Y/N, slow down." Mary got up off of her chair and knelt down in front of the girl. She too understood the feeling of being worried about someone, being willing to do anything to see them again. "This probably isn't going to be what you're hoping it is."
"What do you mean?" Y/N asked.
Vince pressed his hands together and moved his elbows to his knees. "We can get you into the maze. But to get you in there, we'll have to wipe your memory. WICKED can't know how you got there."
Y/N froze. "My memory?"
"All you'll remember is your name." Mary said softly.
Holding herself together, weighing her options, Y/N shift. "But I'll get to see him again?"
"Yes." Mary reassured. "You'll be in the maze with him and your other friends."
"Ok." Y/N sighed. It was her best and only option. If she said no, she'd be stuck in the same cycle she had been since escaping from WICKED with the right arm. The cycle of running for supplies, thoughts completely elsewhere, wishing she could be with her friends again. If she said no to this, she'd be throwing away the one chance she had, no matter the cost of it. "I'll do it."
A few members of the Right Arm took Y/N a long ways away. They hopped a train out of the city, then a berg over open desert. They walked the last couple of days.
Vince hauled open a metal hatch in the middle of the forest. "Last leg of the journey. You sure?"
Y/N nod and started climbing down the ladder. She wasn't turning back now.
She, Vince and Mary walked for what felt like hours underground through slimy halls. Why WICKED had this underground network and what it was for, Y/N wasn't sure. But, it was obviously unused for the most part because the Right Arm didn't seem too worried about waltzing right into it. Whoever their inside man was was good. The crumpled map Vince carried with him vaguely depicting the tunnels led them right where they needed to go.
A small door, a dim glow coming from the other side underneath. "Ok, carefully." Vince commanded through a whisper. "If they brought backup, we leave."
He was the first to enter. A pause. A silent moment. Then, he returned. "Ok, it's safe."
Y/N followed Mary through the door and into the room. She froze dead in her tracks. There stood a girl with dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes. She was uncannily familiar.
"Teresa?" She spluttered in disbelief. "They didn't send you into the maze?"
"Not yet at least." She admit, smiling to once again see her old friend. "We thought you were dead!"
"No, I'm okay." Y/N was still blown away. Then, she caught eyes with Thomas. He joined Y/N and Teresa in a quick hug. "How's Minho?"
Thomas and Teresa exchanged an unsure glance. "After you left, well, he went a little quiet. He got sent into the maze a few weeks after the attack."
"So he's in the maze? Still there?" Y/N asked.
"Yeah," Thomas assured. "He won't remember you though...and you won't either—"
"I know." Y/N admit. "I won't remember him either."
"I'm so sorry," Teresa grabbed Y/N's hand. "If there was any other way..."
"It's okay." Y/N smiled a little. "Let's do this before we get caught."
Y/N's old friends worked away, prepping her for the maze. Teresa then held a photo up and Y/N scanned it over. It was of a younger Minho. Teresa ensured it was encased in Y/N's palm tightly. "You need to find him."
As Y/N started to fade into unconsciousness, Teresa repeat that same sentence over and over again. Soon, she was completely under.
Everyone worked fast to move Y/N out of the room, back through those halls and to a new entrance of sorts. If Teresa and Thomas had mapped the place properly, this was going to take her to the outer reaches of the maze. She'd have to find her way to Minho.
As quickly as possible, they planted her in the maze and left before their opportunity ceased to exist. Once that door closed, Thomas and Teresa part ways with Mary and Vince and all got out of the tunnels as soon as they could. As far as they knew, they had gone completely undetected and by the time Y/N woke up, there was nothing WICKED was going to be able to do. They'd have to leave her in the maze.
