Chapter 13: The Dilemma

So some people say that Percy was acting just a bit too mature when he was talking to Loki, he's seven but watched his mother die...so I felt Percy had some sort of connection with what he told Loki from personal experience about life sucking and stuff...ALSO, as for the whole not updating for a while...yeah major writers block. But hopefully I'm back!

As soon as I stepped into the room where apparently the Avengers were, I got picked up by worrywart dad.

"Dad!" I whined and pouted when he finally set me down and started to examine to see if I was hurt anyway, sheesh he really is a worrywart.

"Perseus Achilles Jackson-Banner, what in the world were you thinking?" Dad asked sternly after he figured I wasn't actually hurt.

I pouted. "I wanted to say hi to him. I also wanted to see why his eyes kept changing between blue and green. It was weird."

Almost everyone froze what they were doing at the last bit of my sentence and looked to the monitors that showed Loki in his cell.

Instead of being calm and collected like how he was before my visit, Loki was pacing and was clutching his head like he was in pain.

The few times he opened his eyes showed that; indeed, his eyes were changing from cold distant blue, to the calm mischievous green.

"My brother is suppose to have green eyes. Never blue," Thor said as he frowned and looked slightly lost.

"Are we really supposed to believe that Reindeer-Games is actually being controlled like Legolas?" Tony asked hesitantly.

The room stayed silent for a while. "I think for now we figure out where the Tesseract is, and afterward try and help Loki. Not like he's not going anywhere," Tony finally pointed out and the other reluctantly agreed with him as they couldn't see another way around that plan. That and they still didn't know how to reverse the controlling of a person yet.

Just as I was about to point out that leaving an obviously distraught person was kinda rude and unfair, a large pulse resonated through my head which made me cry out and hold my head.

It sounded like a calling of sort, like it was calling somewhere here toward the ship. Before I could tell my dad who was worriedly holding me what was happening, a large sounding boom came from down the halls and the ship started to tilt slightly as it wavered and shook.

the blow-back from the explosion entered the room and pushed everywhere every which way. I saw dad and the Black Widow get pushed through some glass to the lower floors while everyone was spiraled against some sort of equipment.

Orders were instantly being thrown as I was left hiding behind one of the counters. But as soon as everyone left to try and stop the ship from falling, I came out from behind the counter and ran down the hall.

My instincts seemed to be heightened as everything became sharper and more clearer, my pounding heart was calm, beating maybe slower than usual as it went against my ADHD nature.

Somehow I knew exactly where I was on the ship and while I didn't know exactly where I was trying to go, all I knew was that I felt a pull to head toward my destination.

So, I ran and somehow maneuvered through the ship like I've been on it for my entire life.

I finally figured out where I was going as I rounded a similar hallway that I went down toward the cage. Wondering why I felt such a need to go there, I silented my footsteps slightly and slowed down my approach until I finally looked around the corner and spotted Mr. Coulson holding this awesome looking gun at Loki whose eyes were blue.

I watched wide eyes as the magic in the air thickened until I realized too late what it meant, I watched as my uncle had stabbed Coulson through the stomach and was about to finish him off when suddenly, I was just there.

In the air was the scent of sea salt but I didn't let my mind wonder about that as I put my arms up in some-sort of blocking gesture. Almost instantly, Loki's arm that was about to put the finish blow to Mr. Coulson stopped as we stared at one another.

Thor was screaming from the cage as it fell from him hitting the glass after Mr. Coulson had gotten stabbed, but we just stared at one another. "Don't hurt him," My heart that should be pounding a thousand of miles was slow as everything seemed to wash away but the two of us.

"Move, mortal," Loki said but I watched as his eyes switched between blue and green on a constant loop.

"You won't harm us. You won't harm me," I said with finality as I stood my ground in front of a bleeding Mr. Coulson. I wasn't going to let someone else die in front of me if I couldn't help it.

"You think you know me foolish mortal," Loki spat as his eyes settled on blue and as his arm raised once more and started to swing down. I delivered the final words of why I knew he wasn't going to harm me.

"We both know I am more than just a mortal. Especially to you," I said softly and watched as Loki's eyes widen just a margin and then settle on green with shock as his actions stuttered.

Softly, so that Mr. Coulson couldn't hear me, I said, "Because why would a father hurt their son, when they each have been hurt by the people close to them?"

Our eyes connected, and almost instantly timed slowed down as I remembered the time my mom sat me down and explained something to me. Something that Loki had a theory about, but no proof as mom wouldn't tell him.

His uncle had been visiting for almost three months now, but all that did was bring questions up for Little Percy.

"Mom?" Three-and-a-half year old Percy asked with bright innocent green eyes and wild untamed hair.

"Yes, sweetie?" Sally Jackson asked as she lifted her son up into her lap as they cuddled on the couch watching a movie.

Percy twisted his hands together both in nervousness and because of his ADHD. "Why don't I have a dad like the other kids at school?" he finally settled on.

Percy watched as his mother gave a sad sigh and kissed the crown on his forehead. "It's not that simple darling. You have a dad, he's just not always around," she tried to explain.

"Why not?" Percy asked as he fiddled with the pen his mother always seemed to have on her and that she claimed will one day be his for some reason.

Sally sat in silence for a few seconds before she answered her sons question. "Well, for one he doesn't fully know your his son."

"Why not?"

"Remember...remember how I tell you to stay out of mommy's drinks in the closet?" Sally asked instead.

"The ones that are for parties?" Percy inquired.

"Those ones yes. Well, one day I drank some that your father once brought over, and we did things that I will explain to you when you're much, much older. It brought this side to use that we're not use to and made us forget most of that night. Months later you were born, and he was away at the time so he didn't know. I will probably tell him soon, but just between the two of us can you keep a secret?" Sally asked with some hesitance.

"I cross my heart with a blue cookie," Percy promised as he even motioned crossing his heart with his little-kid hand.

"Well, let's just say your uncle that has been visiting, is a relative of yours alright? Just don't let him know yet, it's secret," Sally said as she put her finger against her lip in the 'secret' gesture.

Percy, innocent as he was, didn't question it and swore once more on keeping the secret from his uncle.

Time sped back up for the two as Mr. Coulson, in an effort to protect Percy thinking he would get harmed soon, got blasted away and slammed through into the next room.
