Chapter 11: Loki the Oki
Answer Note: So, I'm most likely going to have it so that Sally and Loki were friends, maybe a fling but nothing really developed other than like a sibling bond or something.
Question Note: But the real question: Who should Percy's dad be? I mean I at least want to have some idea about where this may head after the the movie.
It was much later into the night, I kept almost dozing off at some parts but mostly was just happy to watch Tony and Dad work, although part of me wanted to see about Loki and maybe ask him why he sounded so familiar.
"The gamma readings are definitely consistent with Selvig's reports on the Tesseract. But it's gonna take weeks to process." Dad said at some point when I wasn't falling asleep.
"If we bypass their mainframe and direct a reroute to the Homer cluster, we can clock this around six hundred teraflops." Tony said using some of the instruments on the hologram.
"All I packed was a tooth brush." Dad joked as he ruffled my hair as I grinned at him feeling a bit tired.
Tony smiled at Dad seeming to like dad and his calm and kind nature, "You know, you should come by STARK TOWERS sometime. Top ten floors, all R&D. You'd love it, it's candy land."
Dad looked a bit awkward at the request (mostly because he was never really invited to stay someone where someone knows of his Other Side), "Thanks, but the last time I was in New York I kind of broke...Harlem." Dad said trying to make up an excuse
Tony looked like he was about to do something probably stupid as he grinned at dad,"Well, I promise a stress free environment. Not tension. No surprises." Just as Tony said this he poked dad with a miniature electrical prod that zapped dad, which made him yelp, just as the Captain America walked in.
"nothing?" Tony asked staring at dads eyes to see any green as Steve said, "Hey! Are you nuts!"
"You really have got a lid on it, haven't you? What's your secret? Mellow jazz? Bongo drums? Huge bag of weed?" The last one of Tony's question I snorted at, of course dad takes a bag of weed in the presence of a seven year old boy who has been living with him for two years.
"Is everything a joke to you?" Steve demanding and I stared at him, I thought he was suppose to be nicer than that?
"Funny things are." Tony responded in an instant like he already knew the conversation ahead of time and knew what to saw to make the Captain mad.
"Threatening the safety of everyone on this ship isn't funny. No offense, doctor." Steve said quickly and I could tell that Dad didn't mind but I did! He's talking about my dad in a way I don't like, did he really think dad would bring me if he thought it wasn't safe.
"No, it's alright. I wouldn't have come aboard, or bring Percy, if I couldn't handle pointy things." dad said quickly trying to ease the conversation away from him.
"You're tiptoeing, big man. You need to strut." Tony said gleefully at dad and I calmed, I liked Tony. While yes, he had a bit of an ego and stuff he was quite fun and laid back, he actually reminded me of mom a bit.
"And you need to focus on the problem, Mr. Stark." Steve said and I frowned at him, he really what I expected. Sure I heard stories of his adventures and his greatness and stuff but how many stories in the world are actually true?
Feeling awkward I slipped of the table still frowning and carefully slipped out the door. I didn't know where I was going, but the angry atmosphere was reminding me too much of Gabe right now.
Allowing my feet to guide me I left my mind roam along with my powers, there were a lot of people on this ship. Distantly I felt around and found that Black Widow was talking to the Director along with some other man, who I think greeted Steve before I was whisked away.
I stopped in front of familiar doors that I couldn't place where I had seen before, hesitating for just a moment I pushed open the doors.
I froze for a second as I remembered where I had seen the doors, it was the doors that lead to Loki's cell.
It also happened to be the place where neither Fury nor Black Widow could get any information regarding Loki's plan.
I thought about retreating but then Loki suddenly was staring at me and it was like a part of my brain clicked.
"Percy, I'll be right back. My friend Loki is going to watch you for a bit." I was three and was staring at a man with black hair like mine and emerald green eyes.
He looked awkward as he stared down at me, seeming to have no idea what to do as mom left the house for a bit while Gabe was at his friend more than likely playing Poker.
"Ello?" I asked nervous wondering where my mom was going and why she left me with the unknown man.
He looked hesitant for a split second before crouching so we could look one another in the eye, "Hello Percy. My name's Loki Odinson. Can you say that?" he asked the last part hesitantly.
"Oki!" (Pronounced: Oak-e)" I said splitting into a grin as I stared at the man even when he frowned.
"It's Loki. Pronounce that with me, Low-key."
"Oki!" I said grinning as I felt like I had said that correctly.
Oki sighed, "Foolish mortal child, my name is Loki." he said with a tint of annoyance and I frowned recognizing it in his voice, it's like Gabe when he got annoyed with me.
"Oki?" I asked hesitantly as I bit my lip wondering if I was going to be punished for something.
Oki sighed in exasperation, "Oh all right small mortal, you may call me...Oki." he said as he placed his his under my armpits and lifted me up to place on his hip.
"Oki, food!" I said tugging on his sleeve as I looked around at the different view of things.
"Oh alright, let's see what your mother has for Midgard snacks."
