Naira's POV

I was right now standing in front of a mirror , looking at myself , my natural skin tone which is soon going to be replaced with a pale white colour ,
Will I be able to bear it?

My humanity will be snatched from me , What if I become a wild killer and even Kartik leaves me , no he can't , he's my soulmate , suddenly I was jerked

" What?" I snapped

" Well frowning is not good , you might get , you know lines?" Mansi said

" It will not matter , when I'll be one of you , will it?" I said rudely

" Ok ok , you need to calm down , you're just stressing , calm down" Mansi said

She picked up the brush and started doing my hair

" Where are the house maids?" I asked

" It's one of your special day , I just want to make you ready , Is it ok?" Mansi asked with a little sadness

I felt guilty immediately , she was just celebrating my new life

" No no it's totally fine , I was just overwhelmed" I said and tried to smile

She just nodded and continued her work

" So what's this ceremony is about? I mean what will happen and all?" I asked out of curiosity

"  There will be councillors present there and of course the whole royal family , they will say some prayers and then you will lie on a huge stone platform and then.." Mansi was saying

" Kartik will change me" I finished her sentence

She lowered her gaze to not meet mine and continued her work

After sometime

I wore a long dark red gown which have some design made on it with black beads , my hair were in  pretty curls and were decorated with some white beads too. Swarna came in .

" You look beautiful dear" she said while hugging me

" Thanks" I managed to say because of my emotional state

" Come let's go , it's time" she said and I followed her

We both descended the stairs and went in the great Hall , there was a huge stone platform kept in between , on one side were some important members of council were standing in suits and some people in red robes and on the other side were the royal family standing, ok I'm nervous , like you know can't we just do this alone in a room?

Swarna left me in midway and went to stand with the family , suddenly Kartik came beside me , he whispered

" Sorry , I'm late" he said in my ear

" A king is late , you lack the qualities of the king" one councilor said

Yes , these councillors are always finding mistakes

" First of all , I'm not a king yet and secondly a king is never late , it's just others are early" he said smirking and then we went towards the platform

The councillors with red robes chanted something then they asked me to lie down , I did.

" Are you sure about it?" Kartik asked me

Before I could even answer , one of the councilor interrupted

" The decisions are made , and you will turn her right now , there's no turning back" he said

" Don't make me think , just do it" I said fastly

" Now"  The councillors said in unison

He lowered to my level and then touched the skin of my neck with his thumbs , it was more like caressing , and then I felt the sharp pain of his fangs , they went deeper and deeper , I screamed and then everything started to feel dizzy and I blacked out.
