I whirled back to Natael.
+Look what you have done!+ I almost screamed +I told you not to eat anything!
Natael was looking at me with a terrified expression ~What's going on?!
-Hey guys, where is the grandmother? - Alexander intervened.
We all turned to the chair where the old woman had previously sat. She was disappeared. The air in the room had changed, it was as if everything was in stasis now.
~But where did she go?
-I don't know, she was here until a moment ago!
The window slammed shut. Natael began to be afraid, I could know it from his breathing becoming labored.
I sighed and slouched in my chair, bowing my head. I looked down disappointed.
After a few seconds Alexander spoke to me.
-Then?? Do you want to give us some explanations?
~I don't want to be here anymore, please let's go away!~ Natael whispered shaking as she looked around.
The house was now dark, there was hardly any light
+Don't worry+ I raised my head +there is really nothing to worry about.
I paused and listened to the sounds of the house. I could distinctly hear only the breaths of my two mates.
+Let's go out.
I got up quickly and went to the door. I had no problem walking in that darkness, I had been coming to that house for weeks and I knew perfectly well where the furniture was.
I opened the door and finally some light came in. Natael and Alexander seeing the door wide open immediately rushed out to join me.
-The air has suddenly become cold and weird! Now tell us what's going on!- snapped Alexander.
+There was a reason if i preferred for you to don't come...+ I sighed.
They both stared at me with disbelief and curiosity.
+This house is not inside our city because it is uninhabited. Inside... there is no one.
-But you saw her too, NO?!- Alexander shouted.
I turned my head on a side with an expression of displeasure and continued.
+Do you remember when I said that this woman has a son who no longer comes to visit her? Have you wondered why no one comes looking for her? I asked you not to eat anything because that food has been there for years.
Natael was trembling and dared not utter a word.
-Where is the lady now?! - Alexander said with a determined air.
I paused.
+Take the torches and follow me.
And without saying anything else we went back inside the house but this time we didn't close the door. We opened the window again.
