Too far away

I open my eyes. The first feeling I got was cold. It was dark, except for little white dots in the sky which I realize are the stars.

"Ugh" I sit up with my back cracking. I coughed. I look down at myself, I was still in my suit. I checked my pockets to see if I was missing anything

I wasn't missing anything.

I looked around. I was in a Grassland surrounded with hills.

"Amos!" I yelled.

"Tiffany!"

"Anyone!"

I stood up. "Hello?!"

I started running. I ran up and down a few hills. I heard the trickle of a small stream. I decided to follow it because it was a source of water, Because it could be a spring.

But then I saw something black.

"What the!" I stopped and backed away.

For a second I thought It was something which could hurt me, like a large bear.

But I start walking toward it as I realize it was some sort of house. I walk to the side of it and see a light. I walk towards it.

It was a fire. There were logs set up around the fire, and men sitting on them.

They were all dressed in simple leather coats. That was all I could see with the poor lighting

"Oi!" One of the men yelled. I couldn't tell exactly what he looked like from the distance. I realize that same man was looking at me. He stood up.

I walked out to them.

"Who are you" another man stood up next to me. He had Blonde hair which was in small streaks which went down to the bottom of his face. His face was pretty broad and and and pretty muscular.

"The name's J-Jake Nixon" I shivered. I don't know how long I wanted to take the cold in my light suit. It had to be about 30 or 40 degrees out here. "Can I hang out by your fire? I'm extremely cold.

Another blonde man but more muscular and tall stood up. This man reminded me of Amos, but white. He also reminded me of a Viking, He walked up to me.

"No" He said "We know your plans, and we know who you are."

"Cor," another man stood up with brown hair "This man needs our help, I have a feeling that he is different.'

"I won't let another one of them hurt more of us" The Viking said. He turned to me "Begone before your king considers you a monster because he won't recognize you whence go back because I will smite you so hard" He pushed me away

"You can stay for one night" The first man said with the black hair. He had a deep Scottish accent

"Alain, I am doing this to protect us, to make sure Maximus or Torin or anyone else doesn't get hurt." The big man said He turned to me "As I said, don't try to persuade my fellow men."

The first blonde man came up to me. He knocked on my chest. "He has no armor Though Cor, It is okay if he stays for one night"

The big man,who I guess is Cor, Turned to The first blonde man. He pulled him close to him

"If anyone gets hurt I will have told you, and you will have to live with that, live with what YOU let happen." He pushed him away. He turned me to me and said "We know that you are an agent of Bradinson, One of the men with two names." Cor said "If you dare hurt or put ANYONE in danger, You will pay a deathly price."

They must be unfamiliar with my suit.

I am not sure what time or date it is or where the heck I am, but the men let me sit by the fire and gave me a heavy leather coat. Between that, the fire and my suit I began to feel warm and

cozy.

I looked around at the different men and caught their names.

I was right with the big man's name. Cor. As I said before he was a tall and muscular dude who sealed with the cold with his leather vest. And string shirt. His blonde hair connected to a little peach fuzz beard.

Benor was the slightly smaller blonde dude who was still pretty tall and muscular. Like I said his blonde hair was on small streaks down his

face and a beard

Alain was the Scottish black haired dude with visible cheekbones. He was wearing a buttoned Hyde vest with a cloth shirt that sorta reminded me of my suit shirt. He had a light chin beard and mustache.

Colonis was a broad faced and had a beard mustache. He had large cheekbones and a large jaw. He wore clothes like Alain's, a Hyde vest above a white clothe shirt.

Tyrin was looked like a younger version of Benor. He had short blonde hair and was wearing a leather jacket over a Hyde shirt. He may be his brother.

Cerius was a brown haired man with a disconnected beard and mustache. He was wearing a leather jacket.

I noticed that Colonis and Cor were whispering to each other. I tried to stay from listening to them but in these circumstances I had to know all that I could. I closed my eyes and focused in their direction.

"Cor I know you care about everybody and don't want anyone to get Hurt but at the same time you are willing to let Jake get hurt, We are all connected from Vortinal." Colonis said

I held the urge to ask what Vortinal was.

"How do you know? Jake is far more different than anyone in this land, I have a feeling he is from another." Cor said

"Then how is he one of the men with two names?"

"Bradinson must be dealing with another land. That would explain that no armies have been moving around the field."

They were talking about too many new things at one time, I had to ask questions. I stood up

"Why do you guys have something against me?" I said "Who are the men with two names? Who is Bradinson? What is Vortinal?"

Cor stood up, seeming angry. "Eavesdropper!" He yelled

He started walking toward me while I started wishing Amos was here. He was stopped by Benor and Colonis.

"The man has some questions Cor!" Benor said "Don't beat a man because He doesn't know any better!"

I was slightly relieved because other than Cor, Benor was the tuffest looking man here

"Fine" Cor stopped struggling "Jake, If you really aren't one of them then say the Ode to The ancient quest."

"What is that?" I asked "listen,I have no idea where I am or anything, can you just answer the questions, I really don't mean to be rude I just don't want to be clueless anymore!"

Silence. I instantly regretted what I did.

"Bradinson is the king. He dreams of ruling all things" Benor answered me. "He has a league of men in strange clothes like yours,who master magic and all arts, and have two strange names, one before the other.

"They search the lands and convince people not to rebel." Cor left off of Benor. "One of them came to us once and killed my wife Galela and my daughter Tara. I then reached inside of him and turned him inside-out,

I looked toward Colonis, wondering if that was true. He nodded.

"I never liked visitors like you since that day." Cor continued, and then paused "But anyways Vortinal was an ancient yet advanced kingdom which ruled all of the other smaller kingdoms in the land."

Benor then said," We had a man like you before Jake, So don't think you are having an extreme experience, because he was just like you, came up in the night with your clothes and everything.His name was James."
