"Ivan! Where are you?" Sam called out, he called his little sister 'Ivan', short form for her middle name 'Ivanka' . Resin had a lot of nicknames given to her, like James calls her 'Resie', her parents call her 'Ella', her friend Alex calls her 'Ress', and a lot of people call her 'Aury'

"Here Sam!" Resin called out, she was in the courtyard along with Alex , tending to her Tiger Richard, she called him Rich. Alec brought Eris, his Lion today, their families were the richest in the state, so they went out of a lot of ways, for instance, they tamed these two wild animals and kept them as pets. 

Sam followed her voice, and there he saw them four, he saw Alex and Resin, playing with Rich and Eris. He remembered how his 12-year old sister teamed up with a 12-year old Alex to fight against  their parents, to keep the 2 little cubs. 

*FLASHBACK*

"Papa ,mama pleaaaase"12-year old Resin and Alex  asked,  their normally Almond eyes, were now like big balls, round and innocent.

Two cubs- one a tiger's offspring and another a Lion's were found bleeding and moments before death, when Resin and Alex found them. They have all gone to a forest safari and the incident took place

After a lot of fighting, a lot of innocent- round eyes, after almost letting a tear drop fall, after attacking the humanity of their parents, after bringing sentiment of life into play, their parents finally gave in. 

And from that day to this, both Alex and Resin took care of those two wild animals, and never let as much as a fly come near them.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

"U called me brotha" Resin's voice brought him out of his 'flashback'   "Hey sis, mom was calling you".  "Okie, I'll come, I am almost done with Rich, and even Alex is done with Eris". 
"Yeah, I am done with Eris, but i think i have to go now, sorry Ress" Alex said getting up.
"No worries Al" Resin chirped. 

She hopped out of the chair she was sitting in, and sent Rich back into the forest, their courtyard stretched for miles together, which allowed them to have a 'home made forest' 

After Rich went into his den, Resin and Sam went to their Mother's office, her jet black hair was falling on her eyes, framing her face perfectly, her gorgeous blue eyes peeking from the gap between the hair strands that fell on her eyes, She pushed the stray strands away, and smiled at her children. 

"Come, my darkling" Rena said, motioning Resin to follow  her, Sam left the mother-daughter in privacy and ran out, there , leaning onto the door lazily was Natalie. Her fiery red hair was tied up in a bun today, her gorgeous hazel eyes boring into his purple ones. In one word, she took the life out of him.

"Ahem, wanna keep staring or are we gonna go do some work Mister?" Nat asked. Sam snapped out of his trance and said, "Yeah yeah of course, of course, let's go" They had some business to do in the neighboring town, Natalie Estes was one of his family friends. If the friendship between Catherals and Sonrouses went Milleniums back, the friendship between Catherals and Esteses went Centuries back.

"Mam, what is it?" Resin asked her mother cautiously. "Come here darkling", her mother said, and opened her arms. Resin went and hugged her mother, Rena kissed the top of Resin's head and said,
"Promise me, Promise me Ella, my darkling, that you will never remove your necklace."
Resin's hand went to the chain around her neck as her fingers instinctively curled around the pendant, she got it on her first birthday and has never removed it since then, she looked at her mother straight in the eye and said, 
"I never removed it mother, never will"
The determination in her voice brought a smile on Rena's face. 
"Darkling, you still remember the childhood poem, you loved"
"Yes Mam, I do!"
Resin said excitedly and began reciting the poem, Rena joined her too

"The day she died
The pheonix cried
The ships stopped their sail
For, there, formed a fiery trail
For answers go look
In the gardens of the Duke
There you find a Hexon
It will lead you to Dexon
Be careful on your path
Dangerous is the spirit's wrath

Resin's locket 

"You remember it!" Rena smiled, "I used to love this poem Mam, i still don't know why, but i did hehe"

"Alright, Mrs.Sonrous wants you to come to her house today, Alex is waiting for you, he will drop you back in the evening, have fun my love."
"Thanks mam" Resin exclaimed and ran out. 
"Took you long enough to come Ress"  Alex said
"Be happy i came, Al" Resin replied. 

They both got into Alex's convertible and drove to the Sonrous Castle. 

*Time skip*

Resin after spending time at Alex's was now returning back to her house. She hopped out of Alex's convertible and ran inside her house, Alex right at heels. They were playing a game, Alex was supposed to catch Resin before she could reach the door, and just as they both reached the door, the sight before them left them stunned.

There was blood everywhere, the sofa set has been turned around, on the wall , in blood was written one single word.

Resin was shocked, she turned around to see similar writing on the floor, but this time it was not written but carved into the floor:

"What does this mean?"
Resin wondered out aloud
"No time Resin" Alex said from beside her, she looked at him and saw him looking wide-eyed at the writing on the floor. 
"Irthan-They have come
Eisai Epomeno-You are next"
He whispered

"What?" Resin asked him, but Alex didn't respond, he just dragged her by the wrist and a bright light surrounded Resin, and she decided it was the best time for her to black out.
