[Mississippi]

In a party out in a country, in a beach house, a girl with reddish brown hair with white streaks was leaning on the railings, ignoring the music and people around her.

On the other side of the room, a blond guy wearing a football jersey was staring at the girl nervously. His black-haired friend turned to his friend. (Ty and Cody)

Ty: Body snatchers. That's the only explanation, man.

Cody stops and looks at the sulking girl.

Ty: My good buddy, Cody, is now a pod person. Gone in an evening from bad to sad, flame to lame. Nurse, he's coded! Personality paddles, stat!

Cody: Oh, come on. 'Ah'm' just, you know, picking my moment, taking it slow.

Ty: Cody, Ah've seen glaciers move faster. There she is, the girl you've been staring at all week. Please tell me you at least know her name.

Cody: *shrugs and smiles sheepishly*

He shrugs, and Ty hits himself in the forehead in disgust

Ty: You lame-o! *slaps forehead* This ends now.

Ty pushes him forward, and the girl turns around

Cody: Come on, Ty I-

Girl: Huh? Can Ah help you?

Cody: Uhh... Dance. I-I mean, would you like to? With me, that is. Together.

Ty covered his eyes, feeling embarrassed for Cody.

Girl: Ah'm really just hanging out here and... *as she sees the hurt puppydog look on him face* Aw, hey, why not? After all, where's the harm in one dance?

[Meanwhile]

Somewhere at house is not too far away, a blind woman (Destiny) is sitting down and suddenly gets a vision. She gasps

*FLASH*

Cody is trying to help the girl up who is on the floor.

Destiny: No! Don't touch him!

*FLASH*

Cody touching the girl; skin-to-skin contact.

Destiny: Oh, my dear child.

[Back at the club]

Inside the club, the girl and Cody are dancing.

Ty: Get closer. Make your move.

Ty shoves Cody, who falls and knocks down girl in the process.

Cody: Hey, 'Ah'm' sorry.

Cody grabs her wrist to help her up just like in Irene's vision. He touches her bare skin a little, and the two shake and scream.

Cody, let's go, and everyone is now watching. Cody stands for a second, then falls over in a dead faint. The girl is watching in horror, and she now has his memories.

*FLASH*

Cody as a child climbing a tree.

Cody is in a football game.

*FLASH*

Girl: Aaah! My-mah head. All these images. What's happening to me? What am Ah? Who am Ah?

The party. Everyone is in a circle around Cody. Ty gets on his knees to see if his friend is okay while the girl is backing off slowly. Ty shaking Cody.

Ty: Cody? Cody, what's wrong? What did you do to him?

The girl crying hysterically, runs, and slammes right past Ty in a move like a football player's.

Ty: Woah. I thought only Cody had moves like that.

[At Irene's house]

Destiny: *into the phone* That's not what I said. I see pathways... probabilities. I predicted what form her mutant powers would take, not when they would manifest.

She turns around and looks at a couple of pictures of the girl

Destiny: Yet, I did take precautions, the phony skin condition, the way she dressed, but she's a teenage girl. I couldn't keep her in isolation. *pause* Of course you're coming. *pause* I know. And the others? Xavier's team? They are coming too. Including Spider-Man.

[Xavier Institute]

The attic of the X-mansion. A went above opens up, and someone jumps down. It is Wolverine in a Ninja outfit.

Storm: Impressive. You got past the automated defenses by using the air vents.

Wolverine sniffs, and Storm steps out of a corner.

Storm: By you won't get past me!

Wolverine looks up, and a window opens with a big rush of air. We see Wolverine's feet as he has gone into the air vents again. He closes it and begins to climb.

Storm: Testing me, hmm? All right then, it's time you remember why they call me Storm.

She flies up a little, and a t-storm begins to form, only over the roof. Rain starts to pour, only into the chimney.

Wolverine: Hmm?

He turns around and picks up the pace. Tons of water are right behind him. The water forces him out of the vent into the Danger Room.

Storm: You look a little flushed. And the forecast isn't good.

She is now in the control room for the Danger Room. Wolverine jumps up but is blasted with tons of ice.

Wolverine: Now. That. Was. Cold.

He breaks out of the ice surrounding him.
Storm: Then let's warm you up.

A cannon comes out from a wall and begins to fire.

Wolverine unleashes his claws and stabs it. It explodes forcing him back.

Wolverine: Gotta connect first. "Got any other party tricks?" *continues to trash up the obstacles*

Prof X: Stop!

Xavier said through the search control room, the students behind him.

Prof X: It is, at the moment, as much as we can afford, Wolverine.

Wolverine: Hey, when I give a demo, I give a demo.

Wolverine said, taking off his mask.

Scott: *from Control room* Demo as in demolish or demonstration? What was the point?

Storm: The point, young Cyclops, was to teach you something about finding the waek points in sophisticated security systems.

Wolverine: That's right, bub, and I'd say ours needs a little work.

He walks by Kurt, who is upside down, eating popcorn.

Kurt: That was tight! I give it two thumbs up.

Storm brought up the video of Wolverine dodging radar lasers/motion detectors by doing impressive flips.

Wolverine: The vents were pretty easily breached. Gonna need to fix that, maybe electrify them or install poison gas sprayers.

Storm: Wolverine...

Wolverine: Alright, alright. Knock-out gas then.

Kitty: *shivers* Ugh. Is it just me, or is anyone else, like, seriously freaked by all this?

All the X-men are just watching her not saying anything.

Kitty: Oh, right. Is it just me? Great.

Kurt: Relax, Kitty, you'll be fine.

He teleports to the right side, sitting normally.

Kurt: We're right beside you.

He ports to her left side, laying down, tail holding the popcorn bowl.

Kurt: Popcorn?

She freaks out, and the two stand up.

Kurt: Heh, sorry. Next time, I'll honk before I 'port.

Kitty: Whatever. Look, guys, it's late. If it's no biggie to you, I'm gonna, like, drop out.

Kitty phases through the floor. Kurt looks down at the floor, downstruck.

Kurt: Ack, she's fully not into the fuzzy dude. Not that I really blame her.

Jean walks over to him and puts her hand on his shoulder in sympathy.

Jean: Aww, she just needs time, Kurt. She'll come around.

Kurt looks up at her in hope, and Xavier enters the room.

Prof X: X-Men, we have an emergency. Scott, get the blackbird prepped for launch, and since it's the weekend, assemble the full team.

Scott: Yes, sir. What's the mission?

Xavier: Cerebro has detected a new mutant in Caldecot County, Mississippi.

[Caldecot Count]

A few people were walking the streets. The girl was still running through the street.

Prof X: My mental impression of the scene indicates a highly disturbed individual. Our mutant is a danger to herself and possibly others as well.

She only stopped when a car was coming towards her. The car swerved to avoid her, hitting the lamppost.

"Hey! Are you nuts?" The car driver yelled as the girl ran. "Crazy kid!"

She continues to run off.

[Back at Xavier's Institute]

Prof X: X-Men, we have a rogue.

[Somewhere in Manhattan]

[Thwip]

Zachary is patrolling the city as Spider-Man.

He lands on top of the Empire State Building, watching the amazing view up about.

Spider-Man: This is living.

Then, Xavier speaks to Spider-Man telepathically.

Prof X: [telepathically] Zachary. Are you there?

Spider-Man: [telepathically] Oh, hello, Professor. How are you doing?

Prof X: [telepathically] The Cerebro has detected a rogue mutant in Caldecott County, Mississippi. I require for your assit.

Spider-Man: [telepathically] OK, I'll swing to the Institute, and -

Prof X: [telepathically] No need. I'll just send Nightcrawler to your location[out of thought/to Kurt] Kurt, come here. I want you to pick up a friend of ours.

Xavier used his power to send Spider-Man's location in Kurt's mind. Kurt teleports.

[Back at Manhattan]

Spider-Man is still at the Empire State Building, waiting for Kurt. Suddenly, his spider-sense alerted him and accidentally web up Kurt.

Kurt: [muffled] Hey!

Spider-Man: Sorry.

[Back at the Institute]

The X-Men are already suited up for the mission, but they're waiting for Kurt to come back with Spider-Man.

Kurt: [teleported back in the Institute with Spider-Man] We're back.

Kitty: [excited] Did you bring him? Is he here?

Kitty was so excited to meet Spider-Man in person. She was a huge fan, but unfortunately, it wasn't the real Spider-Man of what she thought to meet.

Kitty: Uh, like, who's this guy?

Kurt: This is Spider-Man.

Kitty: Then, like, why does he look different?

Spider-Man: [annoyed] I get it. I'm smaller than the other guy, and I'm sensitive about my height, you know.

Scott: Professor, why did Kurt bring Spider-Man here?

Prof X: I thought we could use the extra help we need on this mission.

Wolverine: And you're sure it's a good idea to bring him along for the mission?

Prof X: Affirmative.

Wolverine: Fine. Just make sure that Spider-Kid doesn't get in my way.

Kitty: [giggled] Spider-Kid.

Spider-Man: [narrowed his lenses] [mutters] Spider-Man.

[On the Blackbird]

The blackbird is on the runway, gaining speed for takeoff. It goes through part of a waterfall, and they are on their way. Inside the Blackbird. Kurt is piloting, and Scott is in the co-pilot seat.

Kurt: Stealth mode stable, leveling off at ten thousand feet.

Scott: Steady... Now hold it right there. And... you've got it! Nice job, Kurt. You'll make a pilot yet.

Kurt: Heh. Thanks. *steers with his feet*

Scott: Or... maybe not. I've logged our flight plan with the FAA. We're clear through to Jackson. We'll take the van from there.

Prof X: Good. You're picking up logistics quickly, Scott.

Kitty: *from the back* Scott seems so like, together, so cool and... He's kinda cute.

Jean: Cute? Uh, stiff maybe, exacting definately, but... Hmm... You know, from a certain angle...

Kurt heard what they just said. He teleports out of the plane on to the front of it.

Kurt: Yaa-yaaah!

He smiles a bit while everyone is watching him. The wind is strong, and he starts to fall. Kurt quickly teleports back inside. In the plane, he is still falling and "flies" past everyone and ends up on Kitty's lap.

Kitty: Aaah!

Prof X: Kurt! The Blackbird is not the place to be fooling around. You frightened Kitty.

Kurt: Sorry, Kitty.

Kitty: Eww... Just just like, stay away from me!

She unbuckles her seat belt and walks up to the front.

Wolverine: Kids.

[Mississippi]

A plane is landing. It stops in front of a limp and Ms. Darkholme gets out. She enters the limp, and Destiny is there waiting for her.

Destiny: You made a good time, Raven.

Mystique as Principal Darkhölme: Our organization's mysterious founder has certain... resources, Irene.

She shifts into her actual form, Mystique.

Mystique: What happened?! I left the girl in what I thought was your safe keeping.

Destiny: At the school dance, her mutant powers manifested, and she accidently made physical contact with a local boy.

Mystique: Absorbing his memories and physical abilities. Wonderful. We keep her hidden away in this backwater for the better part of five years, and in five minutes, it all falls apart. We can not lose her. Especially not to Xavier. She possesses the potential for limitless power. You can see the future, Irene. Where will she go?

Destiny: Home... Or what she thinks is home.

[At Cody's house]

In front of Cody's house. The girl is standing outside, thinking this is her home.

*FLASH*

Cody's dad walked through the door

*FLASH*

She runs to the door and looks inside. She reaches up to the roof for the key to the house, and the girl lets herself in.

[At the hospital]

In front of a hospital. Spider-Man and every X-men except Jean is in the X-van.

Wolverine: This is really necessary?

Xavier: Yes, Logan. The boy, Cody, is the key to finding our rogue, but he's unconscious, and his mind is illusive. To isolate his memory patterns, I need someone on the inside.

In one of the hospital rooms, Cody is in a bed, and his parents are by his side. Ty is pacing around the room. Jean walks in dressed as a nurse. She puts a hand to Cody's forehead to read his thoughts.

Ty: He'll be okay, right? You'll help him?

Jean: Yes, we will.

[Back at Cody's house]

In front of Cody's house. The limo stops, and Mystique is about to get out.

Destiny: Now what? You won't hurt her, will you? After all, Raven, she's your-

Mystique: I know, Irene. I know. Trust me. She will come to us willingly... given the right persuation. *shifts into Wolverine*

[In Cody's room]

The girl is sitting on his bed looking at a yearbook.

Girl: "All this is me..."

She said with great uncertainty. She closed the book and walked towards the mirror. Looking at her expression, she didn't see a blond guy in the pictures, but all she saw was a confused looking girl.

Girl: Mine? but which me am Ah? *door slams open* Aah! Ungh! Wh-who are you and what do you want?

Suddenly, the door broke down, startling the girl. She looked and saw Wolverine entering the door, growling at her. What she didn't know was that Wolverine was actually Mystique trying to make her distrust the X-men, starting with their most rowdy member.

Mystique as Wolverine: You, girly. I want you!

And with that, Wolverine charged at her. The girl dodged the claws from the strange man. She quickly ran through the room, dodging the sharp claws.

Mystique as Wolverine: Stand still and make it quick. You're dealing with the X-Men now, and you ain't got a chance!

Rogue: "X-Men? 'Ah don't heard' of ya before! Leave me alone!"

With that, she ran down the stairs and out of the house, hearing the man howl.

Mystique as Wolverine: *pathetic, fake-sounding B-movie-grade howl* One more turn of the screw and you will come running into my arms. *shifts into Storm*

[Alleyway]

In an alley. Wolverine, Spider-Man, Kurt, and Kitty are searching for the girl.

Kitty: Ugh. So does this, like, bite or what?

Wolverine: The professor says the girl's mind is confused and difficult to pinpoint. So keep looking. *stops suddenly*

He looks in a dumpster and then closes it. He then turns around and smells something.

Kurt: Vas? Got a scent?

Wolverine: Yeah. I smell fear.

In a backyard, the girl is running across it. She climbs a fence and then stops.

Storm(Mystique): One well-placed lightning bolt. One ex-mutant.

Storm(Mystique) throws some sort of ball that explodes. The girl jumps down from the fence, and the explosion barely misses her. She rolls on the ground right next to Irene.

Destiny: Rogue, it's me, Irene. Try and remember.

Rogue: Uh, who? Wait--Irene, yes, but... I'm so confused. Strange thoughts in my head.

*FLASH*

Wolverine(Mystique) and Storm(Mystique) chasing her.

*FLASH*

Rogue: People chasing me.

Destiny: Easy, easy, honey. The police are coming. The X-Men will not risk a confrontation.

Rogue: The X-men?

Destiny: Yes, mutant hunters. Now hurry! I have a friend who can help you. I'll take you to her. Irene holds out a hand, and she takes it.

Rogue: I don't know, all this is happening so fast. I don't ...

Rogue looks over Irene and sees Wolverine, Kurt, Spider-Man, and Kitty running towards her.

Rogue: It's him! The one who attacked me! Run, Irene, Run!

She lets go of Irene's hand, leaving one of her gloves. The three X-men and Spider-Man run past Destiny.

Spider-Man: That's gotta be her!

Rogue climbs on the fence again.

Rogue: Please! Leave me be! *jumps fence again*

Kurt: Wolverine, wait! She seems to be terrified by you. Let me try.

Wolverine: Okay, kid. Just don't mess up, capisce?

Kurt: Yes, sir!

Wolverine: I'll go find the Prof. And, squirt? Pust on your best face.

Nightcrawler gives two thumbs up and turns on the image enhancer.

Wolverine: No sense freaking the poor kid out any more than she already is. And keep an eye on the half-pint and webhead here?

Kitty: Hey!

Spider-Man: Or I can web her up so she won't get away.

Wolverine: Look, kid, you really need to improve on your teamwork. I know you're used to working on your own, but you still need to learn to work as a team. But you are improving, though.

Spider-Man had to smile at that.

Spider-Man: Wow, thanks, Wolverine.

Wolverine: Don't get soft on me, webhead.

[In someone's backyard]

In the lawn Rogue is running in, Kurt teleports onto the tree swing right behind her.

Kurt: Guten tag, frauleine. Please, don't be frightened.

He teleports on the fountain next to her.

Rogue: What do you want?

He gets off the fountain to face her.

Kurt: To help you. We're the good guys, especially me.

Spider-Man: He's right. We're the good guys.

Spider-Man appears behind Rogue hanging on tree upside down.

Rogue: Who are you? Are you with the X-Men?

Spider-Man: No. I'm Spider-Man. And I'm a mutant like you.

Kitty phases through the fence.

Kitty: Half-pint? I'll show him.

Kurt: I was like you once: Alone, unsure of what I was, afraid to show my face. Can you believe it?

Kitty: She doesn't look so tough to me.

[Spider-Sense Tingling]

Spider-Man: Kitty, no!

Kitty jumps on Rogue, pinning her to the ground.

*FLASH*

Cody is wrestling getting someone off of him.

*FLASH*

Rogue does the same thing to Kitty. Kurt grabs Rogue's arms, holding her in place. She struggles a little and slams one of her fists on the image enhancer, making Kurt appear in actual form. She screams and tries to push him away with her ungloved hand. They both start to flash and yell. Rogue lets go of him, and they both stumble backward.

Spider-Man jumps down from the tree and walks up to Rogue.

Spider-Man: Whoa, calm down.

Rogue, however, gasps and teleports herself out of the mess.

While Kurt falls on the ground unconscious.

Kitty: Nightcrawler? Nightcrawler? Kurt! Kurt!

Spider-Man: Stay with him, I'm going after her.

[Thwip]

Spider-Man leaps into air and then web swings to find Rogue.

[The cemetery]

Rogue: What just happened? Where am I? And ich verstenen deutscher. I can speak German? The fuzzy one... Kurt. I'm him. Just like I was Cody. I think I'm catching on now. But how did I..?

She teleports a few times around the cemetery and starts to enjoy it. She ends up on a bench, but it collapses.

Rogue: When is this all gonna end?

Spider-Man walked up to her with sadness in his eyes.

Spider-Man: "I'm afraid it might not end."

He grabbed her bare hand and pulled her up.

Rogue: "Thanks. Why are they after me? 'Ah' didn't do anything wrong."

Spider-Man: "I sort of know what it feels like. When I first got my powers I too was freaking out. But, a friend of mine helped me to control them.

Rogue: "So tell me something. Why?"

Spider-Man: "Why what?"

Rogue: "Why do you do the things you do? You told me that your powers freaked you out. Why still use them to do what you do?"

Spider-Man: lowers his head, crosses his arm, and nods in understanding.

Spider-Man: "You ever hear the word, "Karma?"

Rogue nods

Spider-Man: "Well, let's just say that when you can do the things that I do, and you don't do anything, then the bad stuff happens. They happen because of you."

Spider-Man says solemnly.

Rogue nods her head in understanding. From what she could gather, something really traumatic must have happened to him because of his choice not to use his powers, which is why he does what does.

Spider-Man: "I'd like to think I was given these powers for a reason, and that with these powers comes a burden of responsibility, what you have is something special Rogue. You think it's a curse, and that's okay, but think of it as also being a gift. With enough control, even you can use them to make a difference. Your mother didn't reject you, but she might know..."

He stopped talking when he heard footsteps. Then, Spider-Man noticed someone hiding in the shadows.

Spider-Man: "I hear something. I'll be right back. Please don't get into trouble. The one thing we need is for you to lose control again."

She nodded and watched him leave. She sat down and heard people walking towards her.

Back to the lawn where Kurt and Kitty are in. Kitty is trying to wake him up.

Kitty: Say something, Kurt, please. Tease me, scare me, anything. Oh, please... don't be dead. Come on, Kitty, okay... what would Wolverine do besides dice up, like, half the landscape? Wait, the professor can read minds, right? [thought] Maybe he can hear my thoughts.

Xavier, Scott, Jean, and Storm are on a sidewalk. The professor is tracing Rogue with his mind.

Prof X: Odd. The trail seems to have gone suddenly cold. I can no longer read Cody's brainwave patterns.

Jean: But if he's gone, then...

Prof X: Then it may simply mean the effect of transferrance is temporary. Our problem now is how to find the girl.

Wolverine jumps over the fence.

Wolverine: Try about 10 gardens due west. Kurt's trying to keep her from bolting.

Prof X: Then we must -

Kitty: [telechnetic] Professor!! Professor!!

Xavier gasps and Kitty's yelling.

Prof X: Kitty? Kitty? [Telepathically] Not... not so loud. Slowly, please. Order your thoughts.

Kitty: [telepathically] *It's Kurt. She hurt him. She did something to him. Spider-Man is already after her.*

Prof X: [telepathically] Stay where you are, Kitty. Help is on its way. [Out of thought] Wolverine, it's Nightcrawler. The rogue has his mind and his abilities.

Wolverine growls and unleashes his claws.

Wolverine: This is my fault. I shouldn't have left the little squirrel in charge.

He jumps back over the fence.

Prof X: I'm getting a clear reading now on Kurt's brainwave patterns. She's more focused each time she uses her power. You three go ahead, I'll guide you.

The three run off. In the cemetary, Jean has caught up to Rogue.

Jean: Hi.

Rogue: Do... Do Ah know you? All these memories. I'm so confused.

Jean: Yeah. I know. I can relate to what you're going through.

Rogue: Jean. You're Jean Grey. You're the others!

Jean: Relax! Look, if you know who I am, then I won't hurt you. Look. It's tough to go it solo. Hey, zero pressure, but if you talk more, you can reach me anytime with this communicator.

Jean opens up her hand and uses her tk to float it to Rogue.

Rogue: Latest fashion accessory, huh?

Storm: We all have one.

Rogue looks behind Jean and sees Storm

Rogue: You, you... no, you won't take me!

Her eyes widened in fear.

Scott tries to catch up with her.

Scott: No! Wait!

Scott tires to tackle Rogue but misses and ends up in a puddle of mud.

Jean: I don't get it. We were connecting and then...

Storm: Then she saw me. For some reason, she's afraid of me. Scott wiping mud off his face: Well, she looked pretty beat, she can't have gone far.

Spider-Man stood far off and didn't see anyone. He turned around and saw the three trying to talk with Rogue. Rogue starts running away from them.

His spider sense tingled and noticed Mystique at a distance, smiling evilly. His eyes widen in fear and run after Rogue in a hurry.

Spider-Man: "I gotta save Rogue."

Back again to Kurt and Kitty. She is still trying to wake him up.

Kitty: Come on, Kurt, wake up. You know, I'm still not big on facial hair, but, like, the pointy ears are starting to work for me.

[Back at the cemetery]

Rogue started to shake her head in frustration and heard someone coming into the room where she was. Spider-Man tapped her on the shoulder and shushed her.

Spider-Man: "We might have a problem."

He whispered to her.

Rogue: "Why are you here? How did you find meh?"

She asked him quietly.

Spider-Man: I saw you running away. Right now, we need to get you to safety.

They heard 'Scott' jump into the room and looked at him.

Scott: "Thought you could escape us, did you? The X-Men don't leave loose ends."

'Scott' said to her. He knocked over one of the statues and kept on walking closer. He pushed another down right towards Rogue and Spider-Man.

Then, Spider-Man's spider sense alerted him again, telling him that is not the real Scott.

Spider-Man: You know, for a mutant, you have terrible acting skills.

Spider-Man shot a web at Scott's visor. He jumped up to Scott and kicked him right in the chest and fell to the ground. He was grabbed by 'Scott' and then got thrown into the wall. He hit the wall hard and said.

Spider-Man: "Rogue run!"

She saw 'Scott', walking closer to her. She ran at Spider-Man, asking

Rogue: "What about you?"

Spider-Man: Don't worry about me. Hurry!"

She nodded and ran out the front door. He got off the wall and looked at Scott.

Spider-Man: Now, who are you?

Mystique: Hmm, glad I get to meet you face to face for once, Spider-Man.

Mystique said, transforming to her normal self.

[With the X-Men]

Rogue crawls away from her right where Storm is.

Storm: Child, what is it? We are your friends.

Storm reaches out to Rogue, but Rogue grabs her arm with her ungloved hand on purpose. The two start to flash and scream. Storm is shoved back unconscious. Rogue is up in the air, and lightning and wind start to form.

Scott: Hey, what's with the effects? Is... He looks at Jean, who is watching Rogue go nuts.

Scott: Oh, no. No!

Rogue is still in the sky, and a really bad thunderstorm is forming. A couple of trees are pulled from the roots. Jean forms a telekinetic wall around her and Scott.

Jean: I can hold it off a little.

Scott: Give it up. She's got storm's powers, but not her control.

Lightning is hitting tons of things, making a couple of buildings crumble. A bolt hits the power lines, making them spark.

Scott: The power lines! If they hit that water, Storm'll be fried!

Scott and Jean run towards Storm. Scot grabs her, and Jean uses her telekinesis to bring all three of them in the air right before the power lines hit the water.

Jean: I can't keep us up for long.

[Back with Spider-Man]

Mystique: "I'm surprised that you figured it out. I'm Mystique, by the way.

Spider-Man: And I don't care. What are you doing here?

Mystique: Oh, my dear child. Isn't it obvious? I'm here for the girl. She will be joining my team soon enough."

They heard thunder going on outside.

He growled and ran outside seeing Rogue, who had absorbed Storm's powers, in the air trying to control the weather.

Spider-Man: "This is bad."

He saw Scott grab Storm and get out of the water by Jean's mind.

Spider-Man: "I have to stop her."

[Thwip]

He web swings up towards Rogue, hearing her cry.

Rogue: "Too much power! I can't control it! I have to...Ahh!"

Spider-Man grabbed her arm as she teleported out of the area. Jean brings them back to the ground and runs over to Scott and Jean. A moment later, the rest of the team shows up minus Spider-Man.

Scott: "What do you think happened to the Rogue?"

Prof X: She's gone... somewhere. Here, mind is a jumble. I can't trace it. But I strongly suspect the hand of another at work here.

Wolverine: Hmmm... *sniffs* Mystique! She can change her body but not her scent.

Kitty: Then we have to go after her!

Prof X: There's been enough damage done today, and the girl must come of her own free will or not at all. And we must first tend to our own. Let's just hope Spider-Man had more luck talking to her than we did."

Xavier said when Storm and Nightcrawler were coming back to their senses.

Kurt rubbed his head. He looked around, saying.

Kurt: "Looks like I missed quite a party."

He notices Kitty getting happy.

Kitty: Kurt, you're all right!

Kurt groans and falls down, but Kitty catches him.

Kitty: Easy, you fuzzy elf. Everything is going to be just fine.

Kurt opens his eyes in shock and then looks over at Scott.

Scott: *mouthing silently in disbelief* Fuzzy elf?

Kurt: Huh?

[Meanwhile]

Spider-Man landed on the ground with Rogue, who went into unconsciousness. He leaps up on the roof right before Mystique and Irene arrive.

Spider-Man: 'I might as well be going back to the others.'

Spider-Man web swings back to the cemetery

[Back at the hospital]

In the hospital room. Cody is conscious again and talking to Ty.

Ty: Whatever this was, try to shake it off quick, ok? The game against Jackson is next week, and the last thing we need is Steven's taking your position.

Ty throws a football and Cody, and he throws it in the air. Through the window, we see the blackbird in the air.

[Timeskip/Bayville High]

In Ms. Darkholme's office and Bayville High. She is greeting Rogue.

Ms. Darkholme: Welcome to Bayville High. I'm sure you'll be very happy here. Happy and safe.

Rogue: Sure. Thank you.

She walks out of the room. When Rogue closes the door, some paper clips on Ms. Darkholme's desk starts to move around. Magneto is in the room hiding in the shadows. Ms. Darkholme changes into Mystique.

Magneto: The girl has great power. She is a fine addition to our side.

Mystique: Yes. We were lucky to get to her first.

Magneto: Indeed. Are you certain any residual memories of the true X-men have faded?

Mystique: Positive. But I get the feeling that Spider-Man will be interfering with our plans in the future.

Magneto: I'm aware of that. If we want mutants to run the world, we must get rid of him permanently.

Outside the office, Rogue is holding the telecomunicator that Jean gave her.

She continued on and saw someone.

Zachary: Yeah, are you new here?

Rogue: Yeah, I come from Mississippi. What's your name?

Zachary: I'm Zachary. But my friends call me Zach.

Rogue: Excuse me for saying this, but do I know you from somewhere?

Zachary: Me?

Rogue: Yeah. Because you reminded me of someone I met back in Mississippi.

Zachary: I think you're confusing me with the wrong guy.

Rogue: Hmm, I guess you're right.

Zachary: We should be getting to class so we don't get into trouble. I'll see you later, okay?"

He walked off, waving goodbye.

Rogue: "Okay."

She whispered, then walked to her new locker.
