(Two days later)

SM-06's P.O.V

So, today is the day of the gala and I'll officially be revealed to the city.

I'm now in Kingsley's condo and the gala is getting set up below.

I grab my mask and turn to see Daniel there.

SM-06: Hey.

Daniel: Are you ready, Spider-Man?

SM-06: I am.

Daniel: Good. Put your mask on and get into position.

SM-06: Alright.

I walk over and we leave the room.

(One hour later)

Third person perspective

The gala has now started and Spider-Man is waiting for his time to enter.

Kingsley is joined by his assistant, Maya.

Daniel: How's the boy?

Maya: He's fine. He's just eager to get out here.

Daniel: Of course he is. He's been waiting for this moment for awhile now.

The businessman looks around the room to see Kara Andrews walk into the building.

Daniel: Ah, it seems we have a special guest.

Kara sees Kingsley and immediately goes over to him.

Daniel: Ah, Miss. Andrews. I must say I didn't expect to see you here tonight.

Kara: Well, I didn't want to miss out on getting an interview with you, Mr. Kingsley.

Daniel: I see. Well, what would you like to ask?

Kara: Well, is it true this new Spider-Man works for you?

Daniel: He does. That won't be a secret. My company's logo is on his suit.

Kara: Right. And where did this young boy come from?

Daniel: I found him on the streets. The poor boy was living on the streets, barely getting by. He now has a better life.

Kara: I see. I didn't know you were capable of doing good for other's, Mr. Kingsley.

Daniel: Everyone is capable of change, Miss. Andrews. Now, if you'll excuse me.

Kingsley walks away and goes to the stage.

Kara turns to see Luke Fox, her partner for the evening.

Luke: So, how'd the interview go?

Kara: Daniel Kingsley is definitely hiding something.

Luke: Well, that's nothing new.

Kara: True. I need to find out more. Can you cover for me?

Luke: Will do.

The two walk away.

Meanwhile Kingsley speaks at the podium.

Daniel: Hello, everyone. I'd like to thank you for coming this evening. Now, I know since we lost the original Spider-Man everyone has been wondering what we will do? Who will protect our city now? Well, Kingsley Enterprises has the answer. This city has a new Spider-Man. And he's right here.

A spotlight raises up and points at the new Spider-Man standing on the railing.

SM-06: Hello, everyone!

He drops down and swings around

SM-06: Woohooo!!!

A second later he lands down on the stage.

He immediately takes his mask off.

SM-06: It feels good to finally show my face!

He walks over to the mic as Kingsley steps away.

SM-06: So, Kingsley here asked me to say a few words, so here it goes. Before I got my powers I was a nobody, really. I was a street rat with no family, with nothing. It wasn't until I got my powers that I felt... this responsibility to help people, to do good. Just like the Spider-Man that came before me.

The crowd listens closely.

SM-06: And I don't know why, but I feel like I have a connection to him. It's something I can't quite explain. But I have a legacy to live up to as Spider-Man, his legacy. So, I want you to know that I vow to protect New York and it's people... with my dying breath.

After that the crowd claps and cheers.

Kingsley comes back over and takes pictures with Spider-Man.

While that's happening Kara has made her way to a lab underneath the building.

Kara: Now, what's going on in here?

She goes to the computer and sees a scan of the new Spider-Man.

The reporter goes through the files on him and makes a discovery.

Kara: Wait, this new Spider-Man isn't a person. He's a clone. He was created from Barry's DNA.

She plugs in a flash drive and downloads the information onto it.

SM-06's P.O.V

As the gala continues I feel my spider sense go off.

SM-06: What the hell?

Just then a figure crashes in and kicks me into a wall.

I shake my head and look up to see a spider-like mutant.

SM-06: What is that?

Daniel: Spider-Man, deal with that thing.

SM-06: I'm on it.

I web zip forward and punch the thing in the chest, causing him to slide back.

SM-06: Who are you?

???: You can call me the Spider Slayer.

Third person perspective

As the two Spider's fight Kara and Daniel get behind cover.

This gives Luke the chance to slip away and suit up.

The two fight and the Slayer throws part of a wall towards Andrews and Kingsley.

Kara: Get down!

She pulls him out of the way.

Daniel: Oh, Miss. Andrews. I didn't know you cared.

Kara: Well, I can't ask you questions that I have if you're dead. Call off your clones, Kingsley.

Daniel: So, you know. And only the boy is mine. I don't know what that thing is.

Meanwhile, SM-06 is fighting the Spider Slayer.

He throws the Slayer up and into a wall.

Spider-Man jumps up and punches the enemy.

SM-06: You're done, pal. You crash my party, you get bounced!

He grabs the Spider Slayer and throws him to the ground.

SM-06 tries to come down and hit him again, but the Slayer grabs his arm.

The villain then throws SM-06 into the air.

He jumps up to hit Spider-Man with multiple punches and kicks.

After that he whacks him down, causing SM-06 into the ground.

SM-06: Ow.... that hurt.

The Slayer comes down punches SM-06 before jumping back into the air.

SM-06: That's right. You better run!

Spidey then sees the Slayer uses his webs to slingshot himself towards SM-06.

SM-06: Oh, this is gonna suck.

Before the Slayer hits him, he gets tackled by Batwing.

Spider-Man sits up to see Batwing there.

SM-06: Batwing? What are you doing here?

Luke: I'm here to help you, Spider-Boy.

SM-06: Hey! It's Spider-Man.

Luke: If you say so.

He walks over to the Spider Slayer.

Luke: I don't know what the hell you are, but you better get gone.

The Slayer gets to his feet.

Spider Slayer: I'll be back for the boy, Avenger.

After that the villain leaves through the hole in the wall.

SM-06: Well, that guy's a douchebag.

The civilians and reporters come out to see the destruction.
