Overall Score: 1-100 score (95 of 100)

Title and Book Cover: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

The title is not only highly unique but also one of a kind, which perfectly coincides with the overall plot of the story and the blurb.

The book cover features bold imagery for the background, which perfectly aligns with the overall plot of the book. The font is also bold, effectively standing out from the imagery. However, since the book is a love triangle romance, it would be great to incorporate a symbol such as a heart split down the middle or an image of a burning heart. Perhaps, a heart with a blaze emanating from it. I find it ironic to suggest this, considering one of the main male lead protagonists’ name and ability. Interestingly, the female protagonist and one of the main male leads share the same ability. Therefore, it would be really cool to have the background imagery showcasing both the love triangle and the shared ability.

Blurb: 1-10 score (10 of 10)

The blurb is highly intriguing, as it gives just the right amount of information to captivate and hook a reader. With flawless grammar and a perfectly written composition, it entices readers to crave more. Moreover, the blurb seamlessly aligns with the overall plot of the story.

Plot/Creativity/Originality: 1-20 score (20 of 20)

From the very beginning of the book, the plot is fully introduced and highly intriguing. It effortlessly keeps the reader fully immersed, hooked, and wanting more with each passing chapter. I must say, ‘Hearts Divided’ is unlike any other mafia romance book I have ever read. And trust me, I have read countless books of this genre, as it happens to be one of my favorites.

This book is brimming with action, sometimes reminiscent of a comic book novel. It intertwines the special abilities of certain characters with the romance and drama that accompanies mafia crime. However, despite these similarities, it is important to note that this book is not a comic book. Rather, the comic book ambiance is simply the best way to describe it. Like something out of Marvel or DC movies. “Hearts Divided” is an incredibly captivating read that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. It is undoubtedly a must-read.

Character Development: 1-20 score (18 of 20)

The character development for the three main characters - Blaze, Cain, and Scarlet - starts off somewhat slow. Especially with Blaze, who is portrayed as insane for the most part. However, this does not detract from the overall engagement factor.

Story Flow: 1-10 score (10 of 10)

The story’s flow is perfect. Neither slow nor fast and keeps you at the edge of your seat wanting more.

Grammar: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

There were only a few issues here and there. But nothing that really stood out, or hindered the story’s flow.

Writing Style: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

The descriptive text in this book is fluent and abundant, effectively capturing emotions, actions, dialogue, and surroundings in each chapter. This keeps the reader fully engaged and immersed in the story. Additionally, there are only a few minor grammatical issues, which enhance the overall satisfaction of reading the chapters. The vocabulary is just right, not too basic but not overly challenging, allowing readers who may not have English as their first language to easily enjoy the book with no difficulties.

Overall Engagement and Enjoyment: 1-10 (10 of 10)

As a reader, I was able to dive into the story head first and become completely immersed. Being a visual reader, the descriptive text in each chapter kept me thoroughly engaged, making it difficult to put the book down. I often felt as though I were the main protagonist, fully picturing everything happening throughout the chapters.

I had a hard time connecting with Blaze, the only character who seemed difficult to understand. This may be due to his literal insanity and the fact that his wealth only adds to his jerkish and crazy behavior. However, it’s worth noting that Blaze is featured as much an the first in the first ten chapters. Despite this, there is enough of him present for readers to develop a strong dislike towards him.

Overall, I had a great time reading ‘Hearts Divided’. I would definitely recommend it to readers who enjoy action-packed, mafia romance related books. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

A Night With No Stars By MercuryEff

Title and Book Cover: 1-10 score (10 of 10)

The title of the book, ‘A Night With No Stars’, is truly unique and creative, perfectly aligning with the overall plot of the story. It is a one-of-a-kind title that cannot be found anywhere else on Wattpad, which is quite an achievement considering the vast number of titles available on the platform. Additionally, the book cover for ‘A Night With No Stars’ is visually captivating and has a great hook factor. The bold font used in the cover design exudes a perfect mafia romance vibe, adding to the intrigue of the story.

Blurb: 1-10 score (10 of 10)

The blurb is both perfectly executed and intriguing, effectively hooking readers and compelling them to dive headfirst into the book. It strikes a delicate balance in terms of the amount of information provided, neither too short nor too long, avoiding an overabundance of details. The blurb gets straight to the point and aligns seamlessly with the overall plot of the story. Additionally, the flawless grammar and punctuation further contribute to its ability to captivate readers.

Plot/Creativity/Originality: 1-20 score (19 of 20)

The plot of “A Night With No Stars” unfolds gracefully from the very beginning of the story. What makes it even more captivating is its highly creative and original approach, unlike any mafia book I have ever read before. As someone who loves the romance trope in mafia books, I can confidently say that this one stands out among the rest. The mysterious elements and captivating storytelling make it impossible to reveal too much without giving away spoilers. However, I must admit that I was hooked right from the start. The romantic aspects of the book were truly awesome.

Character Development: 1-20 score (18 of 20)

Although the character development was somewhat slow, it is understandable considering that one of the main characters had never been in any other relationships besides the one with a woman he had been with for over two years. However, once he started exploring the other side of things, his character development began to flow freely.

Story Flow: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

The story’s flow was almost perfect but did have some points where it was slow. Not many though.

Grammar: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

There were a few issues with grammatical errors here and there. But nothing too bad that would hinder the overall engagement or story flow.

Writing Style: 1-10 score (9 of 10)

The author’s writing style flows amazingly well through each chapter, with the descriptive text of dialogue, emotions, and actions thoroughly explained. This helps the reader to stay engaged and become completely immersed in the story. Moreover, the text strikes a perfect balance, neither being too basic nor overly challenging.

Overall Engagement and Enjoyment: 1-10 (9 of 10)

‘A Night Without Stars’ was a highly engaging book that kept me wanting more with each passing chapter. I loved witnessing the slow evolution of the characters’ relationship into something truly amazing. This mafia romance novel was filled with angst, mystery, action, and so much more, which is exactly what I enjoy reading. The grammar and writing style were perfect, allowing each chapter to flow effortlessly. Honestly, it was hard to put down. I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more when I have the chance. This book is definitely a must-read.

Overall Score: 1-100 score (77 of 100)

Title and Book Cover: 1-10 score (7 of 10)

The title of the book is quite basic and overused on Wattpad. Additionally, being a Mafia Romance, it might benefit from a more attention-grabbing title. As for the book cover, I suggest using a more vibrant background image. The current concept of the girl resting her head on the guy’s chest could be enhanced by showing more of his chest, particularly highlighting his captivating tattoos. Including the guy’s chest muscles and featuring more of the girl’s face would add depth to the image. Lastly, I recommend changing the font color to white and centering it for better visibility.

Blurb: 1-10 score  (10 of 10)

The blurb is perfectly executed and falls in line with the overall plot of the story, showcasing its perfect hook factor. However, if the author could come up with a better title and fix the book cover, they would surely attract more reader engagement. That being said, the blurb provides just the right amount of information to hook readers and entice them to read the story. Additionally, the grammar and punctuation are flawless.

Plot/Creativity/Originality: 1-20 score (17 of 20)

While the idea behind the plot and story is indeed unique, there is room for improvement in terms of engaging the reader more fully. On the other hand, the plot unfolds flawlessly right from the very beginning. It manages to maintain its originality and creative factor, but falls short in providing the drive that I personally seek in a Mafia Romance. The story starts off with a bang, but unfortunately, it gradually loses its momentum after a few chapters.

Character Development: 1-20 score (17 of 20)

I found it difficult to connect with the characters in the story. While I understand that the female protagonist is only 19, I found her childish behavior to be a bit too much for my taste. Additionally, I couldn’t understand why, when being held captive by a man, she would choose to cook him cookies and noodles. There didn’t seem to be any significance to the noodles, aside from the cookies, which I might add were the only redeeming aspect. Perhaps that part could be rewritten. Interestingly enough, I actually connected more with the male lead than the female lead.

Story Flow: 1-10 score (7 of 10)

The story’s flow was somewhat slow for my liking. Especially given this book is Mafia Romance.

Grammar: 1-10 score (6 of 10)

There were several issues throughout. Some editing is needed once the book has been completed.

Writing Style: 1-10 score (7 of 10)

Was great but lacks the descriptive text when it comes to emotions, dialogue, surroundings and action.

Overall Engagement and Enjoyment: 1-10 (6 of 10)

To be completely honest, I struggled to get into the story. Although it started off with a bang, I found it difficult to stay hooked and continue reading after just a couple of a few chapters. While I did like the female lead, the story lacked the necessary elements to keep me engaged. The overall idea and plot are intriguing, but they need to be executed in a better way. There should be more angst, action, and emotion infused into the narrative. For example, if I were in the protagonist’s shoes, I would have felt the urge to confront and stand up to the husband for his hurtful words and actions. After all, the husband had even gone as far as having her kidnapped in order to kill her. The characters in the story seem to lack the emotional depth that would make their actions and reactions more believable and engaging.
