A few years ago, a guy on 4chan made a post talking about a shiny absol, gifted to him by a friend who is now deceased. That absol is probably very valuable to him, and he's been able to migrate it with him all these years.

But now, with Sword and Shield, Absol is no longer available, so he won't be able to carry this remaining spark of his best friend with him to Galar.

This is why the dexit is horrible.

By trivialising the argument of people who care about the national dex with arguments like "it's fun", you're effectively saying you don't care about the sentimental value these pokemon hold for some people. By caving and buying the game, you're saying you don't care about the sentimental value these pokemon hold for others.

Can you imagine how crushed this guy must be when he finds out Absol can't be transferred to sword and shield?

Every pokemon is someone's favourite, and it stings that corporate greed is beginning to downplay that. Because of websites and people strawmanning the people upset over the restructuring, the masses will either not care or think of us as entitled, which is far from the truth.

What sucks even more is that so few people care, as evidenced by the sales of this game in Japan alone. This is just part of why I'm so opposed to Sword and Shield. Gamefreak can do better than this.
