Part 3.5) The true meaning of Christmas

As this phase of the popular holiday started in the 19th century, we often wonder what the true meaning of Christmas really is.

The time we have gift-giving, turkey dinners and stockings are all well and good, but according to Charles Dickens novel, "A Christmas Carol" Scrooge's nephew reviews the festive season as "a time of giving, a pleasant charitable time of year, and a chance for us to open up to our fellow men with kindness." I'm not sure if that was exactly what he'd say to his uncle Scrooge.

But really what Scrooge's nephew said is true, Christmas is that one time of year where we are "to give up one's very self, to think only of others, how to bring the greatest happiness to others. That is the true meaning of Christmas.

Also this true meaning is also spread by the birth of Jesus Christ, light of the world, within the new testament of the Bible, from both the gospels according to John and Matthew.

So we become thankful for all the things we hold dear at this time of year.

So forget the decorations, the tree, Santa Claus, the financial side and the gift giving for a moment, and think about family and friends at this time of year, and be thankful for them, only then you'll embrace the true meaning and spirit of Christmas.

In this picture below, us a quote about the true meaning of the festive season. And it was said by the greatest Children's storyteller, Dr. Seuss.
