Okay, I know I am super late, but atleast I'm not as late as the last book. I was probably weeks late,, because of mailing issues..

But this time, I went to the store and got it, freaked out but managed to not fall on the ground.
Let me just say this book did not disappoint.
The series just keeps getting better and better...
If I was being honest, I was at first scared to even open the damn book. Probably because I literally was not ready for anything coming in this book and I didn't want to finish it and be all saddd-

#1. The beginning

The beginning started with Petey in jail and Big Jim taking him to see the tv news. It's from what happened "last night" so this book is right after Brawl of the wild. But then they see the dogs got pardoned but the cats don't. They get mad and start to damn protest in their jail for some reason lol.

#2. Here I first thought that water was tears for some god damn reason

Why did I think this? Because I think everything is more deep than it is.. Also can I say that I just loved the chapter covers in this book a lot.,,

#3. The Behaviour Modification Therapy

I find it super sweet that Li'l Petey is willing to help Dog Man overcome his bad habits. No matter how long it takes, he still helps Dog Man. He's too good for this world 💞

Also wt f, this is a little out of character??? Dogman doesn't hate Petey,,,, what is this. I was actually confused when I first read this.

#4. PETEY ACTUALLY went out and GOt stuff for Li'l Petey

Yet again, another time in the book where I kinda giggled alot. Loo k a t th at art supplies, food, a bed, toysssxldllsa ajkflfls ack

#5. This part right here.

Oh my God, when I first laid my eyes on these two pages, I smacked my head on my bed and laughed. But still dude, why the heck did he tackle him and growl likekekei

He technically kissed him :/ 🌈 womp womp

#6. The s o l e fact that Petey has grown to care alot about Li'l Petey, and call him his son and kid. Makes me super happy

The development in this cat righttttt here is crazy good, and I love him and his son.

#7. The "seeing all the mud, when you can see the beautiful stars" message 🔛🔝

I loved this message in this book, and I god dang loved that at the end of book, Petey didn't care about the mud and just walked in it and stared at the stars....... I almost cried.

#8. B a c k s t o r y, u gonna love your dose of tragic backstory :)

We learn that his dad didn't give a flying hell about him and left him and his mom when he was little. Which is so damn sad. And it is so proven in this book, he's so mean to him and steals ALL of his stuff, and tries to sell it but luckily gets caught.

Petey says that the world is full of losers and bullies and says that's just reality, but Li'l Petey gets sad and ugh.......

#9. THIS

When Dog Man and 80-HD turn up outside Petey's house and they make an agreement about sharing time with Lil Petey. They dance, hug and kiss,,  okay :') 👍

#10. That hurt my heart, part.

Once grandpa, Petey's dad comes along and literally eats everything in their house like some pig. Petey takes Li'l Petey away to talk to him about bringing him there. Petey says that he abandoned him and says if Li'l Petey has any idea how that feels like. But obviously he does, when he first came into this world he was left on the streets.
And., wow Li'l Petey is so forgiving he still loves Petey after all he's done. He tried to change him, treated him badly and said he wasn't his papa. :'( but that's the past I suppose.

🖋️(Future Lazuli notes: Which is typical he is a small child, they tend to not understand this sort of stuff.. they forgive whoever they want to be loved by the most, doesn't make it any less sad though.)

#11. Honey, don't scare our son

Dog Man was proven to be super scared of balls now, (hah) and that's just sad. Also they look like his parents I'm sorry I can't get that out of head, you can't change my mind.

#12.  Why¡ stop being mean to him. AND
tail incident, tell me now.

They left us hanging with this random piece of information here. I now rlly want to know what happened, and how on earth would it make Li'l Petey possibly not love Petey anymore. Did it just idk fricking get cut off in some kind of fight?? A family member? Something? Or is his dad just over exaggerating the situation or something.

Also I never really thought about it before ever. I just assumed Petey's tail just got??? Flat because he grew up??
It better be explained in the next book.

#13. He loves him so much.

There's not much to be said about this scene, expect let it sink in.

🖋️(Future Lazuli notes: ONE OF MY FAVOURITE LINES IN THE ENTIRE SERIES EVER. it creates almost instant tears in my eyes. The trip we have gone with these two is everything. I can't)

This feels like it's a new chapter in life for Petey and he's walking to it and I love it.

Thank you so much for this book Dav, it was veryyy good and I loved every moment of it.

I guess that's all, the day I got the book was literally my dogman obsession day lol. It was fun as heck.
Oof, it takes lots of effort to make these review, thoughts post thingy jeez it should be easier...
