Football Practice

Mark - Gay

Fucking son of a bitch.

George smiled at me.

No, you don't understand. Let me repeat. HE FUCKING SMILED AT ME. It wasn't a smirk, it was a smile. A sweet smile.

He used to avoid my eyes! Oh, but those wonderful blue eyes...

I'm daydreaming while I drive the car. I have practice today, football practice. Kevin called me telling me I was late, and as fast as I could I grabbed my things and got out of my house. I'm pretty sure the girls are having a sleepover. Louise was out there talking to George when both noticed me in my porch closing the door. Now, what did I see in Louise's eyes? Was it sadness?

The parking lot is full. Wonder why. We don't have a game. I drive around searching for a spot, and then I find one.

Everyone is in the field, the whole team is already training. Okay, maybe I got a little bit distracted with the whole George thing.

Coach has an angry face.

"Where were you, Mark Finnegan," he asks.

He usually says your full name when he's really mad. Hearing Finnegan is like hearing the words: 'you're going to burn in hell'. Dramatic, I know.

"Hum, I got - distracted?"

Coach raises a brow. "Is that a question?"

I decide to play his game. "Is that a question?" I put my best poker face. Coach rolls his eyes, but then laughs. "You see, coach, sometimes some things catch my attention and I just have to stare at them."

"I know what you mean, son," he smirks. "Some girls are just too pretty."

Oh, yes, the girls. Of course.

I turn around, in the lockers direction, ready to change my clothes.

"I'm exhausted," says Thomas.

"Me too," I reply.

Then the boys proceed to talk about the mistakes they made today and blah blah blah. At some moment I stop listening to their words. My mind literally stops thinking. But then Kevin says something that makes me return to the conversation.

It's Finn who's talking.

"Yeah, he's crazy. I was just joking and he just threw me to the floor. That balloon. He almost killed me."

"Are you talking about Christopher?" I ask, suddenly remembering the little incident.

He nods. "Yeah, that weirdo."

"Well, then you're lying. You pushed Christopher aside, he said nothing, then you said something along the lines of 'I'm great at tackling', then Jamie helped Christopher saying you're no Calvin Klein model, I think, then you said no one likes her and Christopher got mad. I would've too," I say.

The boys stare at Finn who reddens immediately.

"Jamie called you ugly, bro!" Laughs Stephen. They laugh and then everything is forgotten. Kevin approaches me and gives me a pat on the back. I shake my head and shrug it off.

Where's humanity?

So, yeah, earlier I had a little rant. I'm sorry, but there was this girl's account. They copied my bio, AND I'M NOT ACCEPTING THAT. But don't worry, they already changed it.

Slay.

Anyway.

I'M BACK :)

Did you like it? Did you not? Let me know! Just like you always do, guys. I'm so happy, you always comment on how you feel about the story. And I appreciate it when you correct a word! Remember, english is not my first language, so sometimes I need help.

I love you, stay honest.

P.S: dedicated to NovemberRain16 'cause she said it would be a great idea to put the issues the characters have with themselves beside the name at the top.
