Untitled Part 3
Percy's POV
I walked down the pier, Dock 10, Dock 11, Dock 12, that was the dock my boat left from. I still had an hour so I decided to explore. It was muggy out (muggy means like just before a thunderstorm in the summer when the air is really thick and moist), it was probably going to rain later. The boat pulled into the harbor, it was a small boat. The bow read 'The Grey Lady IV' I quietly embarked the ship. It was a large boat, The vessel had three floors as far as I could tell, one outside and two with seats and snackbars. I climbed to the top floor and waited for the trip to start. The boat ride took a little over 6 days, I mostly camped out on the benches outside. I guessed that there were cabins below deck.
-6 days later 'cause I'm bored-
We finally docked in America, Texas by the sounds of it. (I don't know where boats from the UK dock, I'm just guessing) I got off the boat through the luggage carts. Once I made sure I had my backpack with a change of clothes, $20 and a toothbrush I tried to find a suitable place to sleep. The signs didn't help my dyslexia but the only black with white letters proclaimed that I was near/in Brownsville. For the next year I headed northeast towards Houston, I took a few detours so it took awhile. My internal compass was telling me that I would find somebody there that would help me. When I finally got there I was tanned and dirty. I was looking for a place to sleep when it hit me: The sewers. I took the nearest manhole cover off and climbed into the large, wet pipes. I took the flashlight I had found a few days ago from my bag and switched it on. It was a cheap flashlight, like the ones you get at events. I found a reasonably dry spot on a ledge not far from where I had come in through the manhole. Unfortunately, someone had beat me to it. He was small and scrawny, not even a year younger than me.
"Who're you?" I asked, he looked at me with big brown eyes.
"Who are you, than I might consider telling you my name."
"It probably wouldn't be smart to tell you my name, I mean, it's never safe when you live in the street. But still. I'm Percy." he looked at me, expecting a last name. "I don't have a last name." I said shortly.
_______'s POV
I was sleeping peacefully in a rare dry spot in my 'home' in the sewers under Houston when I was rudely awoken by a boy a bit older than me.
"Who're you?" he asked, he probably didn't mean to be rude, but he was either way,
"Who are you," I asked him, "than I might consider telling you my name." He grinned at me,
"It probably wouldn't be smart to tell you my name, I mean, it's never safe when you live in the street. But still. I'm Percy." he said, I looked at him, didn't he have a last name?
"I don't have a last name." he said shortly, ooh, touchy subject.
"Well, do you want to share this fine piece of dryness in this fabulous vacation spot under the city I know as Houston?" Percy cracked a grin,
"You're funny,"
"Nooo. Really?"
"And sarcastic."
"Thank you Captain Obvious."
"Thanks for offering to share." He took his bag and used it as a pillow, he slumped against the corner, giving me the rest of the ledge. I took my bag and rested my head against it, and closed my eyes. I hoped there weren't going to be any monster attacks tonight, because I'd run out of my 'grenades' made with the weird bronze I'd found a few days back. I fiddled with a few wires before I fell asleep. Inventing always helped me focus my energy on one thing, not have my energy everywhere all at the same time. I remember when my mom used to let me work in her shop, she was so happy and full of life. She didn't have to die, it was my fault anyways, I started that stupid fire. I didn't want to become friends with Percy for the same reason, I'd end up hurting or killing him. I didn't want that to happen. Before I knew it I slowly drifted off into dreamless sleep.
Third Person POV
Gaea looked upon the sleeping demigods,
"An odd combination," She muttered to herself, "Fire and water. We'll see ho this works out." a giant waked into the dream,
"My lady," he bowed, "Shall we prepare the Hellhounds?"
"Yes," the earth goddess smiled evilly, "They will never see it coming."
