Angel's POV

One week later

"I regret this stupid decision."

"Can't change it now,"
I snickered

Conner and I were at the gym as part of my usual morning routine. Conner was complaining because of how early in the morning I went.

We look around the gym and as usual their was barely anyone their.

"Your crazy man." Conner groaned.

"It helps me think."
I shrugged.

I went to the nearest treadmill while Conner went to a weightlifting machine, put in my headphones and started to run.

It's been another week since me and Natalie agreed on the contract which would make this our second week.

I haven't yet given Macy to her because she was still a bit busy. The damned dog had practically ruined the penthouse. She chewed up everything that could fit in her tiny little mouth. Conner and I were still mourning one side of our beloved couch.

Even though Macy was the devils breed she was growing on me. Even Conner who was very skeptical about the whole situation at first seemed to adore her now.

I even caught him talking to her in a baby voice while giving her a treat.

When he realized that I was watching him, he blushed from head to toe and hissed "you better not tell anyone this, it would be a very serious threat to me masculinity."

I increased the speed of the treadmill while chuckling.

I thought about Natalie.

Natalie and me had grown to be friends and it was nice.

We both knew the clear lines of the contract and never blurred it with something real.

She and I continued seeing other people and doing what we wanted while pretending to be a happily engaged couple not to mention the press were eating of the palms of our hands.

She,like Macy, was growing on me with her quick wit and easy smile she was a good friend to have.

I knew not to trust her though because she kept her secrets and I kept mine.

After I ran a few more rounds on the treadmill I went over to Conner and we did a some weightlifting and then we walked out of the gym to go back home.

Conner chose to come to the gym with me,much to his regret, because my family was hosting a gala and he wanted to look good for my younger sister which he had a crush on since forever.
I snorted, like I was ever going to let him lay his hands on my precious little squirt.

Conner turned his head from the road and glared at me, as if he knew what I was thinking.

I ignored him.

Natalie was coming as my date like all the other party's we went to but this was special because she was going to meet my family.

To make it so that the balance of power was in place Natalie told me she was going to let me come with her on a visit to her parents house on Saturday.

In the back of my head a voice whispered 'do you really want to show her the closed of and cruel you?'

I almost growled out loud. If Natalie couldn't handle my 'beast mode' as Conner called it then I will call of the contract immediately.

I didn't want a weak woman.

Have you thrown a book across the room in frustration?
No? Just me?
