Angel's POV

I walked into the shelter, feeling very uncomfortable in the cramped space with all the animals generating loudass meows and barks

The receptionist at the desk looked up. As she looked up I noticed how her eyes widened at the sight of me. I smirked, I knew the kind of of effect I had on women.
"Would you like to adopt a pet today?"

"Yes please."

She stood up and lead me to the back door which she opened that led to a less cramped corridor containing the animals.

In the corner of my eye I saw her twirling her hair and sighed. Normally I would have no problem banging her, she was pretty with brown hair and blue eyes, but I can't because there is a risk of seeing her again and I only do one and done deals.

I walked down the hallway looking for a very specific golden puppy.

I released a happy sigh when I found her, all the way at the end of the hallway.

I opened the cage and Macy barked happily, recognizing me.

I picked her up and walked back to receptionist who was standing next to the back door clearly sensing the rejection I gave her and frowning.

"This is the one."

She nodded and opened the door to lead me out I held up and a one moment sign.

The reason why I didn't know about the local places that Mel mentioned was because I wasn't local in Colorado.

I was just visiting from my main office in California for the business contract with Cinnamon-bun. Since Conner was my best friend and business associate he traveled with me.

Colorado was a beautiful place,no doubt about it, but I don't plan on staying.

So I want to help as much as I can before my business contract ends and I have to go.

As I looked at the shelter, I knew it needed a boost.

The space that contained the shelter was very cramped and the outside of the place was almost crumbling.
I might donate a little money here.

I wonder why Natalie didn't.

I nodded my head as I walked out the door the receptionist held for me, Macy wagging her tail happily and wriggling in my arms with nervousness.

Now all I had to worry about was Conners reaction at having a puppy stay with us until I gave the puppy to the intended owner.

I am not a totally cold bastard you know. I just am when someone pokes me with a stick or their faces.

Crushes are the worst.
