Part 60
It was weeks of sleepless night for Valerie and her pack. They were planning everything strategically and were trying their level best not to leave any stone unturned. Genesis and Jennifer were sent to a place, the location of which was only known to Autumn and Valerie. Both of them were protected by the protection spells done by Autumn and their location were hidden by the locator spells. They were accompanied by Natasha and Paul the two best vampires.
Autumn was asked to double the protection of the pack and she had put some very strong spells. Flora was getting powerful day by day. But still she was not able to find any weakness of Randall. His aura was protected by the spells done by the witch who happened to be Autumn's mother.
The two senior members of council of vampires had come to visit Valerie and Cayden. They assured the two alphas that they will handle the situation of new vampires. As a warning many new vampires were killed by beheading by the two senior vampires. As a result the saplings were scared to join hunters.
Dominic as ordered by Valerie was able to destroy some of the camps of the Hunters. There were fatalities but none for Valerie's pack. He destroyed the arms and ammunitions of hunters.
Ryder was making battle plans according to the intel given by Scarlett and training the warriors of both packs hard and aggressively. Jason was leading a team that was targeting the strategies of the hunters. He was collecting information from the government with the help of members of werewolf community recruited in the government agencies.
Dominic and Griffin were working on the intel provided by the Jason's team. They were targeting mostly hunters' camps and their warehouses where arms and ammunitions were kept. They were also targeting the rouge werewolves. They were either killing them or taking them in prison.
Jason's team were interrogating the rouges captured and were getting information from them against the hunters.
For once it looked that werewolves were dominating the hunters in every move and were causing serious damage to the hunters' community. Their attacks on weaker packs reduced. They were unable to allure the new vampire samplings and the rouge wolves.
Valerie knew hunters are like wounded snake now and they will retaliate back with more poison and wrath. She was trying to prepare her pack for the worst and Cayden to be on his toes as well.
Randall was terribly enraged. The war had yet not started officially and they were already losing. He was furious that he was getting defeated by Valerie Jackson grand daughter of his arch nemesis. He had called his best officers to look into the matter and found that there is a mole in the group.
Scarlett came to know about it and decided to warn Cayden. She sent a coded message to Ryder and not to Cayden so that the hunters can't trace his number.
Ryder who was reading the map of both the packs looked towards his phone when it chimed with a message tone and found a distressed coded message of Scarlett. He looked worriedly towards it and decided to talk about the matter with Cayden. He knew that he was in a meeting with the rest of the alphas in the Stalwart warrior pack. So he decided to leave a message.
On the other hand an enraged Randall was informed about Scarlett by one of his officer that she was the one who was providing the intel about Mystic moon pack and Stalwart warrior pack to them. He got suspicious of her. The way she managed to escape the prison was not setting well with him. So he decided to have a chat with her.
When Scarlett was informed that she is summoned by Randall, she got scared. She thought maybe her cover has blown, so she decided to ask to the person who brought the message to her.
"Why would the greatest hunter in the history like to me? I am no one important, just a mere werewolf; the specie he hates most."
"I don't know but I heard him talking to someone that he wanted to know about how you managed to escape from a tight security prison." The person replied.
"That is it?" Scarlett asked smirking because she was already prepared with the story.
The person nodded and she accompanied him to the Randall's home. When she reached there she was surprised with the grandeur of his villa. The front gate was huge and she learned that the gate was electrified that could kill any werewolf and it can only be deactivated from inside. The person accompanied him got off the car and buzzed the intercom for entrance. He was asked about the purpose of his visit and when he took Scarlett's name the gate was immediately opened.
Entering the gate she saw huge garden at the side of cemented road. In that garden she saw two huge statues of hunters who were holding bow and arrow and a round about was made in front of the main door. A fountain was built in that round about.
Scarlett got off the car and went near the fountain. Her hands burned when she tried to touch the water.
"The water is mixed with wolfbane." The person accompanied her told her. She nodded and decided to enter the villa. She was about to touch the door handle when suddenly he warned her.
"The handle is made up of silver. Don't touch it."
"Thanks. You never told me your name." Scarlett asked.
"There is no need of that. My job was to deliver you and that I have done. Somebody will escort you to Randall."
As if on cue the doors got unlocked. A pretty girl was standing there beaming at her. She was not older than eighteen.
"Welcome miss." She gestured Scarlett to enter. "Sir will accompany you in a bit."
When Scarlett looked around she found the décor ostentatious. Living room was large area divided a grand staircase and the furniture was also grand which was mostly beige.
She was just taking in the scene of the building when a loud and powerful voice called her name.
"You must be Scarlett." She looked around and found a huge man standing. His face had a scar that made him scarier. He oozed authority.
"Yes I am. You must be Randall."
"How dare you?" He yelled. "A pity wolf like you can't take my name. You are a disgrace on earth."
Scarlett wanted to punch him but she controlled her anger and replied. "My apologies, sir. What Can I do for you?"
He scoffed. "Coward! I just want to know how you escaped such high security of your pack."
"Simple with the help of the beta. As I Have already informed that my alpha is coward who got the title because his father was alpha before. He does not deserve to rule us or rule any other pack as a matter of fact. The beta is my best friend. I just shed some crocodile tears in front of him. His heart got melted and he let me escape."
Randall looked towards her in distrust. "Why would you betray your own kind?"
"I am betraying my alpha not my kind. I am just helping you in destroying Mystic moon. I won't help you further once that pack is destroyed." Scarlett replied smoothly. She knew she is able to convince him with her lies.
"If you say so." He replied reluctantly.
"I know why you called me. You think I am the mole. I am providing them information. You are wrong. I can never help him. My alpha imprisoned me his own pack member when his mate asked. I loved him. Valerie is not even interested in accepting him as her mate. She is also right in a sense. Who would want a weak pathetic alpha as their mate? Despite that I loved him but he was hell bent on impressing Valerie. He does not deserve me."
Randall smiled. "So according to you Valerie has rejected him."
Scarlett sighed. "Unfortunately no, her mother does not want her to reject him. But if she will get an opportunity she will reject him."
"Hmm." Randall pondered deeply. "So you are saying you are not the mole."
"Yes" Scarlett replied. "But you see as I am helping you against my own kind due to my personal vendetta maybe anyone amongst you is helping them and providing crucial information."
"Do you mean to imply that someone is betraying me? A hunter?" Randall snarled. "No, never. I don't believe it."
Scarlett shrugged. "Maybe, I was just stating the fact. Humans are no better than werewolves."
"How dare you?" Randall yelled.
"It was just an assumption. If your questionnaire is over can I leave."
Randall nodded and gestured with his hand for her to leave. Scarlett smiled because she was able to sow a seed of mistrust and doubt.
