Part 1
Bridgeville, a small town of Alaska, is dense in forest area and mountains just like the rest of the Alaskan state but this small town is famous amongst locals for its exceedingly large wolves; larger than wild cats, who are seen roaming leisurely in woods and sometimes in town. No reports of attack by them have ever been heard. But what these locals don't know is that they are not just wolves, they are lycanthropes or werewolves.
Bridgeville is known for one of the strongest pack in the American country. Initially lead by late Alpha David Jackson. But after he was killed in a war against hunters the position was taken by his eldest daughter Valerie Jackson.
Alpha Valerie Jackson. A ruthless yet caring, strong yet soft at heart, headstrong yet yielding female alpha who is feared and loved at the same time. She is iron willed and rules with heart and brain. Valerie is a name feared by her enemies and loved by her pack members.
The loud blast of horn broke the reverie of Jason, a well built muscular blond guy with blue eyes who was engrossed typing his book about his pack and Alpha on his laptop. He looked confused around and saw the mentioned Alpha running towards the door. He shot up from his seat and ran behind her outside the pack house.
"What is it?" He asked anxious.
"I don't know, but it looks like we are under attack" She replied. She looked around the vast expense of her pack's property and saw warriors running to prepare for the battle. "I want all warriors upfront in ten seconds in battle formation. We will fight in human form. Weapons ready and be prepared to form the third line of defense." She bellowed.
A tanned buff muscular guy with tattoos all over his back and arms stood beside her watching warriors getting prepared for the situation.
"Dominic, enlighten me with the situation." She demanded.
"Alpha Valerie we are under attack by some rouges. The agenda is not clear yet, but the warriors at the periphery are handling the situation, some rouges were able to slip into our second circle of defense." Dominic, the head warrior of the pack replied.
To this Valerie looked sharp towards him and growled. "Not impressive Dominic. They managed to defeat our peripheral border security. Any chance they will be able to break the second circle?"
"No Alpha, we have situation under control" Dominic replied.
"The situation is not under control Dominic if they managed to break our first defense circle." Valerie retaliated back in anguish.
"Alpha the warriors are returning" Jason, the beta said and Valerie looked ahead to saw the warriors marching towards them.
When they came and stood in front of their Alpha, she looked for the damages for her pack warriors and was impressed to see that her warriors were not seriously wounded or injured and they have brought the dead bodies of most of the rouges. The three rouges were left alive to face the wrath of their alpha were tied up in the chains tainted by wolfs bane.
"Who was the leader of this group?" She demanded. One of her pack warrior who was leading this battle came forward and cleared his throat. "The one tied on the left is the leader. They ambushed us out of no where. We were not prepared for the sudden attack and hence they were able to cross our peripheral defense circle.
"And why were you not focused?" She asked, the leader was about to answer when she signaled him with her hand to stop. "But first let me know the motives of this group. Why did you attack us?"
The rouge leader growled at this. Dominic punched him in the stomach for disrespecting his alpha and the leader whined.
"The purpose?" Valerie asked
"You are not fit to be the alpha, you are weak petty female wolf who is good for just producing children. This pack needs a strong alpha." The leader bellowed.
Valerie laughed maliciously. "And you think that you can lead this pack by defeating me with your petty followers. Right?"
The leader spit on the ground in front of him. Jason growled and was about to attack him when Valerie stopped him and ordered. "Release him."
Everyone looked towards her flabbergasted. When no one followed her orders she bellowed. "Am I not clear in my commands? I said release him."
Dominic moved forward and untied his chains. "Check if he is seriously injured." She commanded him. Dominic checked the rouge and informed that he is not injured badly. She moved forward and stood face to face with the leader.
"You think you can be the alpha. You think you can beat me to death and take over my pack?" She asked mockingly. To this the leader smiled like a Cheshire cat and nodded smugly. She snorted and then looked straight in the eye of the leader and said. "Lets fight for the position of Alpha to the death."
There were gasps all around them. The leader assessed Valerie from head to toe and smirked. "I am Lex. I thought you should know about the person who is about to defeat you."
Valerie did not show any expressions and just nodded her head.
"Clear the field." She ordered and everyone got dispersed. Lex morphed into his wolf and Valerie made the battle stance. The rest of two rouges looked towards her in question and wondered why she is not morphing into a wolf. Valerie smiled a smug smile and taunted them. "Surprised! I don't want my wolf to be bothered by some petty rouges."
The wolf launched itself on Valerie and she dodged him by somersaulting. The wolf growled and once again launched himself for Valerie's neck for a death kill. Valerie squatted on her knees and punched the wolf in gut that caused him to topple over. She withdrew the knife from her ankle strap and this time when the wolf launched himself she slashed his stomach. The wolf howled in pain and doubled over due to the loss of blood. But the gash soon began to heal and he bared his teeth, Valerie smiled a mocking smile and scoffed tauntingly. They both circled each other and when Valerie deliberately loosened her stance. The wolf thought it to be the weakness and pounced and when he was above in air Valerie stabbed him with her left hand knife that caused the wolf to fall on ground. Valerie launched herself on him and slashed his neck with her other knife. Once the jugulars were slashed and blood spurted all over, she decapitated him by twisting his neck.
The rest of rouges looked terrified towards her. She wiped the blood from her face and growled. "Give them serious injuries, torture them so that they have nightmares of me and then let them go."
She came face to face with one of the rouge and whispered harshly. "That would be a lesson for you to never challenge me and for others who will ask you about your injuries. Think twice before attacking me. I am a nightmare that will haunt you even after your death." She left after saying that.
After a quick shower and change of clothes she came in the meeting hall and saw Dominic, Jason and James the leader that was leading the battle sitting on the conference table. Upon her arrival they all stood up. She nodded for them to sit.
"What caused the ambush? How did they manage to enter the second defense circle?" Valerie's voice boomed in the hall.
"Like I told earlier some of my warriors were distracted" James replied.
"Distracted how and by whom?" She asked.
"As you know alpha we have recruited new warriors this week, this was their first field operation, despite my strict orders to not bring any kind of entertainment supply they brought video games."
"And you didn't bother cross checking?" Valerie asked irritated.
"I did but they concealed them perfectly" James replied.
Valerie got up suddenly and rushed outside the pack house towards the training field and yelled. "I want the new recruits of first defense circle present here."
For a second there was pin drop silence and the next moment the warriors were lining up in front of her.
"Who disobeyed the direct orders of the leader? When you were asked not to bring any sort of entertainment supplies why did you bring them? Look at the consequences we faced. Whose idea was it?" She roared like a true leader.
No one spoke; she was impressed by their unity. She was impressed by the fact that they were loyal to each other in front of her too. There was a bit of smile present on her lips that did not go unnoticed by Jason and Dominic.
"Very well then, if this is how it will be. No food and no hunting for them and 200 laps till one of you tell me whose blunder was it"
There were gasps among the young warriors, some gulped nervously but no one spoke. She nodded towards Dominic, the head warrior who complied her wish and commanded them to start lapses.
"Keep me updated." She ordered Jason while going back to the pack house. He nodded in response.
"By the way what were you typing earlier on your computer that you were so engrossed?" Valerie asked Jason while walking back towards pack house.
Jason scratched the back of his neck sheepishly and replied. "The book that I told you, the one I wish to write about our pack"
"Hmm" She hummed and the ping of her phone notified her of a new e-mail. She opened it to read and said out loud. "Alpha Cayden Smith wants to visit us."
They both looked towards each other and Valerie ordered. "Find out who is he, what's his history and what's the purpose of this sudden visit"
Jason nodded and ran to obey the command. When she entered her office she looked out of her window and saw the new warriors running but she saw abstinence of tiredness and a strong resolution to not break. She smiled a proud smile knowing that she has such robust warriors.
