Official Member and Restored Drawing
Yoru's POV
_____________
After school and the club today i'll be having my first piano lesson with Tamaki... Smiling to myself, I sit up straighter in my seat. I already know how to read music, I just need to memorize which notes go to which keys on the piano... Thinking of how Tamaki'll teach me, I don't pay attention to class.
"Miss Hitachiin!" Sensei's voice rings in my ears and I jump in my seat.
"H-hai?!" I blush a dark red as everyone laughs, Hikaru especially.
"I asked you what does X equal." The teacher restates, making me look quickly at the board.
"72- N-no!" I say, seeing the teacher starting to walk back up to his desk. "I-its 73, I forgot to carry the one." I murmur, he nods and continues on with the lesson. Sighing in relief, I actually pay attention now.
Once the bell rings, I have one more class before school's over. Going up the marble staircase I go to Music Room #2, where I have chorus. Luckily, none of the hosts are in this class with me, so I can act normally in here. Smiling softly as I walk in, I wave to Mrs. Onaji and take my seat. She's my favorite teacher in the school, and Chorus is my highest grade (not saying I have low ones.)
"Alright class, take your seats please." She says and takes attendance quickly. Mrs. Onaji is very pretty. She has dark red hair that's wavy and bounces whenever she walks. Her glasses are a dark red as well, and her eyes are a bright ocean blue. She's almost always wearing a blouse with a circle skirt. What makes her stand out is that she's always wearing bright vibrant colors, and she doesn't wear high heels. She wears converse all the time, most of the time, each shoe a different color, making her my favorite. :)
"As you know class, Solo & Ensemble is coming up in a few months, and i'm just curious, how many of you would like to be in it this year?" At this, most of the class raises their hands, although I keep mine down. "That's wonderful~!" She chirps as the class smiles and puts their hands back down. "So today is going to be a free day- Ah ah ah give me a moment." She quieted the class once they started to move. "If you are interested in doing Solo & Ensemble, please come up to me and we can get your music sorted out. Alright dismissed." Mrs. Onaji goes back to her desk as 3/4 of the class crowd around her for Solo & Ensemble.
Grabbing my notebook, I pull my legs up on the chair so my knees are up by my chest. Placing the notebook on them, I begin to draw, drowning out the sound around me. "You're very good at drawing." A male voice says next to me, making me jump. Looking up I see Yukio Hoshiba, a guy in my class.
"O-oh, thank you Yukio.." I mumble, blushing as he smiles to me. He pulls up a chair, sitting on it backwards with his arms resting on the back rest.
He laughs slightly, his green eyes twinkling, "I didn't know you knew my name."
"I know almost everyone's names, I just don't talk to them..." I say, looking back at my notebook to continue drawing, i'm currently sketching a dragon.
"Are you doing Solo & Ensemble?" He asks me, trying to start a conversation.
"No.. I could never sing in front of a group of people." I confess, working on the face of the dragon. "Are you?"
I see him nod, " Yea, Mrs. Onaji already asigned me a piece of music for me to practice. I plan on playing guitar with it as well." He hums happily, proud of himself, making me smile. "Can I ask you something Yoru?"
"Didn't you just do that?" I inquire, smirking slightly. I pause in drawing and look up to see him blushing faintly, stuttering. I laugh, "Yea, what is it?"
He shakes his head slightly, gaining composure, "Why don't you wear the school uniform like the other girls do?"
"Have you seen the girl's uniform? I don't like it." I tell him, making a face, which makes him laugh. "They look like cream puffs. And yellow just isn't my color." Looking at myself, i'm wearing a dark purple long sleeved shirt that has rips on the back and shoulders, so i'm wearing a black tank top underneath it, along with black bleached jeans, so there's patches of white on them, and then just black converse (I do have black knee high socks on underneath them~)
"I think you'd look fine in yellow." He says honestly, and after he says that his face bursts in red. "I-i mean-!"
I laugh, making him stop. "Thanks Yukio." he nods sheepishly while I start to draw again. We continue to talk until class ends, and he waves to me before leaving.
"Yoru, could I have a word with you?" Mrs. Onaji calls to me as I start to walk out.
"Yea, sure." I hang back and let everyone exit as I walk over to her desk.
"I just wanted to ask why you don't want to do Solo & Ensemble." She says, smiling to me.
"Oh, I just don't really like singing in front of big groups.." I tell her the same thing I told Yukio.
"Have you ever done it?" I shake my head no, and she continues. "It's actually being held at Ouran this year, and what happens is that there's judges in separate classrooms. All you do is go in and sing or perform for them and then they grade it." She shrugs lightly, making her hair bounce. "The only people in the room would be the pianist, the judge, you, and maybe a few people who come around to listen to the performances. I think you should do it Yoru." She gives me a closed eyed smile. "I actually already have a song picked out for you if you're willing to do it."
"I'll... think about Mrs. Onaji." I tell her, making her smile wider.
"Wonderful~ Get back to me soon, and if it's a yes we can practice alright?" I nod and she dismisses me to leave. I walk down the hall to Music Room #3 and go through the waiting girls and walk in.
"You're late Yoru." Kyoya says as I close the door.
"Does it matter if i'm late? It's not like i'm a member of the club, Kyo-Kun." I smirk to him as I go over to my designated windowsill, leaving a stunned Kyoya.
"If you're not a member of this club, then you wouldn't be allowed to come into this room until our club has opened, Yoru." Kyoya says, walking over to me as I already get comfortable in my seat.
"You're absolutely right Mommy dear!" Tamaki says, bounding up to us. "Yoru should be a member of the club~! A hostess-"
"No!" Hikaru and I shout at the same time, making me look at him.
"What, why not?" Tamaki pouts, his puppy face appearing.
"Because, I'm too shy for that type of thing, and it has to be a club decision if I join, which means everyone has to agree that i'm a member." I explain, grabbing my notebook and flipping to the page with my unfinished dragon.
"Hikaru! Yoru's now a member of the host club!" Tamaki says, looking at my brother who goes to object. "The votes outnumber anyway, Kyoya, Haruhi, Mori-Senpai, Huni-Senpai and I agree do we not?" He looks around at the hosts who all nod their heads in agreement.
"B-but I don't wanna be a hostess!" I shout, looking at Tamaki, and then to Kyoya.
"Alright you won't have to," Kyoya says, putting a hand up to stop Tamaki from interrupting him and he pushes up his glasses. "You can do another job in our club."
"... Like?" I dig in my bag for my watercolor colored pencils.
"You know how to cook right? You can be the club's baker, making sweets for us. It would reduce the amount of money we spend on sweets for Huni-Senpai. We have a kitchen connected to this room," To this, he gestures to a door that I have never even noticed before.
"And if I object?"
"Then you can be a hostess."
"What if I don't wanna be a member of the host club?" I ask, sitting up straighter.
"Then you are unwelcome in this room until it opens for business." Kyoya says, having a comeback for every question I ask him.
Hesitating as everyone watches me, I mutter barely audible, " Fine.."
"What was that Miss Hitachiin?" Kyoya asks, smirking.
"I'll be your damn cook." I say, looking up at him.
"Good, then you can get to work." He smiles to me as I grudgingly get up, dragging my bag with me to the kitchen.
"Demon King.." I mumble while walking past him.
"Yo-Chan~!" Huni says, launching himself at me and hugging me around the waist, almost making me fall over. "Can I request a sweet? Pretty please~!?"
Laughing quietly, I set my bag down, hugging him. "What would you like Huni-Senpai?"
His eyes sparkle while he looks into mine, "Can you make strawberry shortcake?"
"I can see what I can do." I smile to him, kissing his cheek before setting him down and going to the kitchen.
"W-wait Yo-Chan!" Huni calls, making me look back at him. His face is a bright pink color.
"Hm?"
"You can call me Mitsukuni kay?" He giggles and runs off to Takashi, talking excitedly.
Smiling I go into the kitchen and close the door. I'm now an official member of this club.. Shaking my head while giggling I set my bag down, the dragon drawing laying open on the counter. Taking my phone out I look up a strawberry shortcake recipe and set to work.
Small Timeskip X3
Placing the shortcake on the counter, I put whip cream on top along with a circle of straberries. Cutting it into pieces, I place them on small plates. The club has started a while ago, but I can still hear giggling and chatting outside. Putting the cake on a tray, I wash my hands and clean up briefly.
Grabbing the tray I push the door open with my hip, walking out into the room. Not that many people look over at me, which i'm grateful for. Going over to Mitskuni's table, he smiles brightly at seeing me.
"Would you ladies be interested in some cake?" I ask politely, already placing one down in front of Mitsukuni. As they nod 'yes' I hand out the cake and go to the other tables as well. I make it to Kyoya last, since he doesn't have any guests at the moment.
"Would you like one Kyoya?" I ask, holding out the last piece of cake.
"No, thank you. I don't typically enjoy sweets." He says, typing something on his laptop.
"Oh, alright." I shrug, sitting down at his table, eating the cake myself. "Ne, what do you always type on there? Or write in your notebook?"
"That's for me to know and for you to not find out." He says simply, closing his laptop to look at me. "Tamaki informed me that you're going to be taking piano lessons with him after the club."
I nod, eating a strawberry. "Yea, don't tell Hikaru though."
"I didn't intend to tell anyone." Kyoya shrugs, taking a notebook out and opening it, writing in it.
"I'm going to get you another notebook for christmas." I tell him, laughing quietly as I stand up. I grab my now empty plate and the tray, heading back to the kitchen.
Washing the plate, I go over to my notebook and take my colored pencils back out. "Now what color should I make him..?" I ask myself, looking at the rainbow of colored pencils. "Light blue with black and white would be nice~" Grabbing a few colored pencils I begin to color in the dragon, leaning against the counter.
"Yo-Chan?" Huni asks a while later, popping his head into the room. "The club is over- Oo what are you doing?" He asks curiously, coming into the kitchen and coming up to me.
"Just drawing~" I hum, showing him my almost finished drawing.
"It's so pretty!" He exclaims, his eyes dazzling as he takes the drawing to examine it closer.
"Thanks," I say, smiling. I put my art supplies away, stowing it in my bag,
"Takashi and I actually have something to give you~" He says, handing my notebook back to me and I put that in my bag too.
"Oh really?" I ask, putting the bag over my shoulder and he nods happily, grabbing my hand and dragging me out of the kitchen. He brings me over to one of the couchs and tells me to sit down. "Close your eyes Yo-Chan! I'll be right back." He smiles to me, patting my head like a puppy before skipping off.
Smiling, I close my eyes, leaning back on the couch. A moment later I feel something placed in my lap, "Alright Yo-Chan you can open your eyes~!" Doing as said, I look to see what's in my lap and notice its the drawing of the stormy beach I drew yesterday, but it's professionally inked onto a canvas.
Widening my eyes, I look at the painting and then to Mitsukuni and Takashi, "Y-... y-you fixed it?" I ask, looking back at the detailed canvas.
He nods, gazing at me. "Takashi and I fixed it up for you!"
Smiling slowly, my chest warming at the thought of them doing this. I set the canvas aside and stand up quickly, hugging him tightly. "Thank you Mitskuni.." I murmur unintentionally in his ear.
"Y-yea Yo-Chan, n-no problem.." He stutters, hugging back, his face a bright red.
I hear someone clear their throat and let go of Mitskuni to see Tamaki watching me. "Piano lessons?"
"Right! Sorry, just a minute Tamaki, i'll meet you over there." I go over to Takashi, who was standing behind the couch to watch my reaction. I hug him just as tight, thanking him as well. "Thank you guys so much. I don't know how I'll repay you.."
"Don't worry about it Yo-Chan~!" Huni giggles and bounces off toward the club doors, making Takashi follow. Sighing while smiling, I go over to the grand piano where Tamaki is waiting.
"Right, let's begin then." Tamaki smiles, gesturing for me to sit next to him. I sit down, and we begin.
